Did any of y0u ever notice that Paul quoted the book of Jasher apparently referring to it as "scripture"? Shouldn't we? Shalom

2 Timothy 3:[8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
[9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
[10] But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
[11] Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
[12] Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
[13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
[14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Jasher 79:[27-38]:

27 And when they had gone Pharaoh sent for Balaam the magician and to Jannes and Jambres his sons, and to all the magicians and conjurors and counsellors which belonged to the king, and they all came and sat before the king.  28 And the king told them all the words which Moses and his brother Aaron had spoken to him, and the magicians said to the king, But how came the men to thee, on account of the lions which were confined at the gate?  29 And the king said, Because they lifted up their rod against the lions and loosed them, and came to me, and the lions also rejoiced at them as a dog rejoices to meet his master.  30 And Balaam the son of Beor the magician answered the king, saying, These are none else than magicians like ourselves.  31 Now therefore send for them, and let them come and we will try them, and the king did so.  32 And in the morning Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron to come before the king, and they took the rod of God, and came to the king and spoke to him, saying,  33 Thus said the Lord God of the Hebrews, Send my people that they may serve me.  34 And the king said to them, But who will believe you that you are the messengers of God and that you come to me by his order?  35 Now therefore give a wonder or sign in this matter, and then the words which you speak will be believed.  36 And Aaron hastened and threw the rod out of his hand before Pharaoh and before his servants, and the rod turned into a serpent.  37 And the sorcerers saw this and they cast each man his rod upon the ground and they became serpents.  38 And the serpent of Aaron’s rod lifted up its head and opened its mouth to swallow the rods of the magicians.

Do you know why this "book of Jasher" hasn't been included in the Bible?

Where's Paul's quotation of Jasher?  I must be missing it......
And, sure, we should obey all Scripture (2Ti.3:16).  But that includes the Torah of Moses!
Are you willing to obey the Torah of Moses, as Paul teaches?
blessings!

Because the RCC Council was not actually filled with the Holy Spirit and only accepted the Books that Constantine personally wanted.

Jasher is mentioned by both Joshua, who led the Ancient Hebrew People out of the Wilderness and into the Promised Land and King David, whose Lineage Our Lord and Savior "Chose" to come from [the BRANCH].   Those are Two solid people we should listen to when they were reading the Book of Jasher as God's Holy Word.

There's many issues with the Council in my opinion.   Look at the Chronicles.   In the Hebrew, they are the LAST Books of the Old Testament.   For one, look at the kings mentioned in the Chronicles.   They lived thousands, definitely hundreds of years [[AFTER]] king David and Solomon but are placed in order that reads like they existed before.

Even Jesus tells in Luke the Correct order of the Tanakh [Old Testament]

Luke 24: 44 Then He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you—everything written concerning Me in the Torah of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.

^

Proper order is the Torah/Law of Moses, then the Prophets, then the Psalms

Look how your current Bible KJV lists it [Law, Psalms, Prophets], so it's not even in the Factual Order that Jesus said it should be.

In my View, there's a few more Books missing (not all the Books) and why I read all Books that come from that era and age.

Very interesting! I once started a thread in here about translations, and I personally don't fully trust the last Bible translations, as I believe that most of the "salt" is not there anymore? If you know what I mean.

Therefore I use many different types of translations for my Bible study, and of course the origin "word by word".

Could you tell me the other books that you think are missing? Maybe the book of Enoch?

I'm thinking Enoch might be legit.....although there are allegedly 3 different "books of Enoch"....and evidently only the first one is legit (according to some opinions).  I've skimmed through it.....and didn't really find anything overtly unbiblical....as I recall.

Those who believe that Constantine put the Bible together has read or watched too much Dan Brown and his Davinci Code.  The lies told in that book and movie astound me.

The book of Jasher mentioned in the Bible is and has been lost.  To the knowledge of experts, it has never been read or found.

This modern day "book of Jasher" comes in two forms:

  • One - the one discussed here - written in the 1600's and supposedly covers Adam/Eve through Joshua.  It is full of error, contradiction, but most of all - the occult.  It is fraudulent.
  • The other - written in the 1700's by a non-believer trying to discredit Christianity - rewrites portions of scripture leaving God out.

The Occult in the 1600's Book of Jasher [I've read it myself]

  • This modern book claims [Chapter 7:29-30] that the clothes that God made for Adam and Eve from skins of animals was enchanted.  The garments were passed down and down until they came to Nimrod and he decided to wear them.  According to this book, the garments are what made Nimrod strong and a great hunter.  Sorry folks, this is just not how God works.
  • This book also claims [Chapter 31:41-42] that when Rachel hid her father's idols by sitting on them while she and Jacob and company were running from him that these were not ordinary household idols made of stone or wood as the Bible speaks of.  This book teaches that the idols came about by finding a man that was a firstborn, cutting off his head, salting and preserving the head, inserting a small plate of gold with a name written on it into the mouth of the head, and bowing down to it.  According to the book, when those people bowed down the heads, the heads would speak and answer any questions they had.  Folks, this is pure witchcraft.
  • There is so much more, but you will either believe me or not.

The Fraud in the 1600's Book of Jasher

  • This fraudulent book claims that the reason that God rejected Cain's offering was because the offering was of inferior fruits.  The Bible does not say that.  The Bible says that Cain's offering was not accepted as Cain had no faith in which TO offer anything and that Cain was ALREADY evil and did not behave in a righteous manner.  [Genesis 4; Hebrews 11:4; Matthew 23:35; 1 John 3:11-12].   This book says that one day Cain was tilling up his fields and Abel and his flocks came and trodded all over it, messing up the tilling.  Cain got mad and asked him why. Abel smarted off and said that why did Cain wear the clothes from the wool of his flocks and eat the meat.  He continued and said to Cain that if Cain would take off his clothes and pay back the meat that he, Abel, would get off his property.  Does that even SOUND like the faithful and righteous man that the New Testament describes?
  • This book of Jasher says that when Cain killed Abel, he was exceedingly sorry and REPENTED of it.  It says he was grievously sorry.  The conversation between God and Cain in the BIBLE after the murder shows NO repentance from Cain.
  • The Bible says that Cain was confronted by God about his sin problems and he ignored God.  He invited Abel to go out into the fields and then killed him - premeditatively.

There's probably at least 100 more lies and occultic and fraudulent teachings in this book.  I'm only citing these three as I've done this too many times and I am not believed.

I encourage you to read the Bible and learn it like the back of your hand.  I've read it and taught it for 40 of my 60 years.  When you know the Bible intimately, you readily recognize the lies.

And as I said earlier and have said to many people - don't take your scientific facts, Bible facts, or historical facts from fictional books and movies and blogs.

Did paul quote said book or did he and the author of jasher both quote the same source? Or perhaps did jashers author quote Paul?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
