Babylon is said to be a city in Revelation.

https://biblehub.com/revelation/17-18.htm

The city sits upon seven hills.

https://biblehub.com/niv/revelation/17-9.htm

The city appears to be home to immigrants from around the world. Many nations, many languages.

https://biblehub.com/revelation/17-15.htm

The city is given the cup of the wine of the fury of God's wrath.

https://biblehub.com/revelation/16-19.htm

Now here is the question.

If everyone who worships the beast and its image, and recieves its mark are given the cup of the wine of God's wrath as it is written, then why does God only give it to Babylon and not the entire world?

Revelation 17:18   And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

'All' the kings of the earth are serving Babylon, even the kings of Israel/Jerusalem.  So this great city cannot be Israel, or Islam, or any other for they all serve Babylon and Babylon is controlling them all.

Revelation 17:9   And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

Mountains are bigger than hills.

Mountains are kingdoms, large kingdoms, hills are smaller kingdoms, or smaller nations, or islands.

The woman is not physically sitting on 7 hills, but 7 ruling (mountains) kingdoms that have been given great dominion starting from Egypt to Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Grecia, Rome, to latter day Rome.

All these ruling kingdoms have been serving Babylon because they were all involved in commerce and trade.  The hills have been serving her also, but they were not given great dominion, and the focus is on these larger kingdoms who contaminate the earth and do abominations leading nations astray.

Revelation 17:5   And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Well that should tell us alone that it's involving the whole earth?  She's ruling over those kingdoms that are ruling over the earth.

Everyone's involved.  Babylon is the world.  The system of the World.  Commerce and trade, and every evil found in her.

Revelation 16:19   And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

This great city Babylon which is the system of the world, or the great city Jerusalem, when the Mt of Olives is split into 3?  Don't forget the FP and the beast will have set up headquarters in Jerusalem.  Babylon will be ruled from Jerusalem because the beast will occupy Jerusalem,  build his temple there, and will treat the Jews very badly.  The FP will be a Jew, but it is not the Jews ruling and there is a difference.  The FP will rule with the gentile armies and will oppress the Jews, because this is the will of God for the Jews have been serving Babylon also and must drink of that cup, as with every single person throughout the world, and this is that fire that all must go through who have not come out of Babylon, that material world where every evil is found in her, and every lie.

Revelation 16:20   And every island fled away (hills), and the mountains were not found (kingdoms)

because......

Revelation 11:15   And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

I would imagine it's a literal city but one that has influence over the entire earth, and all eyes are set on Babylon the city.

One Man changed the world, Jesus. One man can rule the world, the beast.

One city will be the seat of power in the Kingdom, New Jerusalem, and so one city can be the center of rule in the beasts kingdom, Babylon.

I see attempts at parallelism in the reality God will set up during the Kingdom, and what Satan will do when he takes power over the earth and sets up his kingdom.

Exactly how would you rewrite this verse to suit your veiw?

Was there a reason you didn't answer the one question I asked?

That doesn't really answer the question though.

https://biblehub.com/revelation/14-10.htm

If everyone who worships the beast, or worships it's image or recieves its mark is to recieve the cup of the wine of the wrath of God, then why does God give it to one city and not the entire world?

It's like asking why there will be wrath upon this people in Luke 21:23 but not upon the people in other countries who are told to stay out in Luke 21:21.

https://biblehub.com/kjv/luke/21-21.htm

https://biblehub.com/kjv/luke/21-23.htm

Is this not the time of vengeance when all those who worship the beast are tormented?

https://biblehub.com/kjv/luke/21-22.htm

Why then are those in other countries told to stay out of Israel because of the wrath upon the Israelis ?

This question is meant to be thought provoking. I don't really need an answer. I already know the answer.

In a nutshell, it comes down to two cities we can dwell in.  One is the kingdom of God on earth called Zion, ...the city of truth, and the other is called Babylon run by Satan....the city of confusion.

Revelation 17:18   And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Why would this verse need re-writing?

God's woman is Zion, his holy city on earth, and Satan's woman is the harlot who is luring all to receive of her delicacies (goods).  She's the enticer.  The merchants have gotten rich of her and all the nations desire her goods.  Simple.  Read Revelation 18 for better understanding.  This is how Satan operates, through the material.  Kingdoms war to have her goods, nations murder, people lie, and every evil is found in her through the lust of wanting all she can provide.

We are called to come out of Babylon because it's Satan's city and thrives on oppression.  All who are joined to her spiritually will receive of her plagues.

So you have to ask yourself?  Who's city is 'ruling' over the kings of the the earth?

Is it God's city....the city of peace where you can find truth and salvation?

or is it Satan's city?

Who are all the kings of the world serving?

You should be able to see them by their fruits.

You need to search for yourself to find this truth.  It's all in the scriptures.  If you don't know who Zion is, then it's hard to work out who this Woman of Great Babylon is and what is the cup she is making all the nations drunk with?

It comes down to two kingdoms, and we are all called to come out of her....Babylon .....and to dwell in Zion.

All the kings are serving Babylon.  Every single one of them.  All the kingdoms and nations.

I didn't answer your question because you are unaware that Babylon is the entire world.  I hope you can see this.

Jeremiah 51:44   And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.

Bel is Satan.

Satan is the king of Babylon, and Babylon is his kingdom which covers the whole earth.  The nations are flowing to him.  All the nations.

Well you just changed the meaning of the verse didn't you.

https://biblehub.com/revelation/17-18.htm

The angel giving the interpretation of John's vision said the woman he saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.

But you just said the city covers the entire earth. Why must you change the interpretation given by the angel to suit your view?

Why can't you change your view to fit the word of God?

https://biblehub.com/kjv/revelation/17-16.htm

Here the kings of the earth hate the city and shall make it desolate. But you have changed the meaning so that you can't even figure out what city they attack even though it is in Revelation. It's just a city they attack. It's not the world.

I gave you an explanation of who Babylon is and showed you how it comes down to two kingdoms.  The kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.  When God speaks about Babylon, or Babylon the great he is speaking about Satan's whole kingdom which rules over all the kings of the earth.  You cannot find this Babylon on a map because it's Satan's kingdom running all the kings of the world to do his bidding.  Babylon is Satan's system.  The system of injustice, the system of bribery, the system of oppression.  Every foul thing is found in her.

Even though Christ was killed in Jerusalem, he was killed in Babylon, that Great city (of Satan), because Satan was there giving the orders.  If Christ's accusers were serving the Lord in Zion, the city of truth, the kingdom of God, they would not of killed our Lord.  So because they were serving Babylon ....the city of confusion ....where they liked to keep their positions, they allowed themselves to be deceived despite the evidence of truth standing in front of them.  The world follow.

Jeremiah 51:49   As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.

Revelation 18:24   And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Babylon even set up the churches, to block the flock from the full truth.  To give them false security through lies.  We are called to come out of the lies and the ways of this kingdom.  You can be in China serving Babylon, or Russia, or Australia, or in Switzerland.  It doesn't matter where one lives, because if one doesn't come to the true kingdom, he will be joined to Babylon and her lies.  This whole kingdom no matter where one is in the world will receive the plagues and war.  War in every nation on the earth, and every brother against brother, and it will end at Armageddon where they will assemble to come down and fight the Lord.

The 10 kings will strip this system of Babylon so they can introduce their new system.  No cash, no buy.  Mark of the beast.  Obey or die.  But it's still Babylon, because Satan is in charge of his kingdom and doing his best to oppress and destroy, even his own house.  So when we come to the 6th angel, God will send the Mede's and his allies, the king of the South, according to Daniel, or the kings of the east according to Revelations to destroy the gates of Babylon.  They will attack all the strongholds and destroy the infrastructure 'starting' from Jerusalem where the FP has made his camp.  They will blow up everything and destroy communications, railways, roads, electricity stations, water supplies,...everything and not just in Israel, because they are stationed everywhere, all over the world, for God has put it in their hearts to do this, because it is his vengeance on Babylon.

But these Medes are still of babylon also, as they are also deceived and do not serve the Living God.  So we need Jesus to come and finish the job for once and for all, and Babylon will be no more.  Left without man and inhabitant, because that wicked system is gone, and she has no servants now, for all the kingdoms of the world become the kingdoms of our Lord, and all will serve him through a better, more perfect and fair system.

The beast attacks Jerusalem 3 1,/2 days before the day of the Lord when the two witnesses are resurrected. The Israeli goverment rules Jerusalem up till then. On the day of the Lord the beast is destroyed.

It is the Israeli goverment who gives the mark of the beast as israel is part of that kingdom.

It is Jerusalem that sits on seven hills. Those ten nations that attack Jerusalem will kill the occupants of Jerusalem.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
