I'd have to say, they ain't Katrina, them's be thunderstorm pics. I've been through enough hurricanes and thunderstorms to say them pics be thunderstorms.

while these pictures are really good, they look to me like thunderstorms. the third picture has a funnel cloud coming down causing damage on the ground.

The others are different cloud formations that are down bursts or a copule may ge mesocyclones.

I have seen many storms like these across Oklahoma in my 58 years here, and the ground looks more like western oklahoma or kansas to me.

Edited to agree with Super Jew.....

So, the concensus is that they are genuine pictures - just mislabled?

Wow! We don't see clouds do that in Maryland!

So if they are pics of other storms that are undoctored, they are still really awsome. I love storm pics. My wife did pull up a satelite image of Katrina that put Ivan to shame....prior to Katrina, Ivan made the coolest wallpaper for a satelite image.

 Yeah- I've never seen a hurricane nor do I know anyone who has; but it's my understanding that this storm was upwards of 450 miles in diameter. I highly doubt once could capture images of Katrina's rotation except from a VERY high altitude

Very skeptical of these pics,

Tim

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think the pictures are real storms. I have seen each of those cloud formations here during my lifetime..... and they are also very good.

One thing to think about is that hurricanes do create individual thunderstorms so it would be possible that they could be assocaited with Katrina. My questions would concern the landscape, and I am not familiar with the landscape in the area that Katrina hit.
