World leaders want UN to play bigger role

This title is the title of the article in today's paper where I live.

First paragraph: World leaders nearing the end of a three-day summit urged the United Nations to play a bigger role on the world stage - in everything from the fight against terrorism to protecting immigrant rights to easing the crunch caused by high oil prices.

Second paragraph: After the last speeches today, the 191 UN member states will adopt a document that takes a step toward revamping the United Nations to meet the challenges of the 21st century and adds new impetus to the fight against poverty.

...And a UN treaty to fight global corruption got its 30th ratification, triggering its entry into force in 90 days.

Folks, I don't know about you, but I find this extremely ominous. Remember that antichrist doesn't seize power but power is given to him by world leaders who will find themselves unable to deal with their own countries' problems. This looks to me like the beginning of that. And that treaty to "fight global corruption" being implemented in 90 days. What do you suppose that's all about?

Why is everyone worried about the UN becomming the world government? It's too unorganized and ineffective to work as a global government agency.

Under its current leadership it is, yes. What I find ominous is the fact that so many world leaders want its involvement in world affairs. It's a de facto acknowledgement that they can't handle the world's increasing problems themselves, that they want a "third" party, if you will, to handle things. I think this is the beginning of what's prophesied about the "kings" giving the antichrist power over their "kingdoms." He doesn't seize power, it is given to him by the world's governments. That's why he has a bow but no arrows. He conquers through "peace." At first. Wow! Are we close or what?!

On another note, I don't know if this belongs here or not, but none of the Tyme machines were working in Janesville tonight. None of them. I went to 3 different ones. Even the one at my credit union wasn't working. I find that extremely interesting. I don't recall this ever happening before.

I agree. The UN is ineffective and full of corruption. It will never become a world power.

Europe will not unite either, Daniel clearly states "they will not adhere to one another." I just don't think a one world government is going to happen. A one world religion, yes; but not a united government.

When the man of evil comes and raises the powers of the beast there will be a global power that no one will refuse and live. Call it a new world order or one world government or one world religion, but when push comes to shove you will join it or go on to be with the Lord..... which should be a real no brainer decision for us......
