Just get a good Christian. Not a Christian from kookland. Not everyone who wears the label is a Christian.

Me? I'm happily married to a great person I met online. We have been together for 20 years. People can knock it all they want to, that girl someone met in a bar probably didn't last a year.

I was the girl he met in the bar 4o years ago.  Once in a while God goes into the bar.

Anyways I've already put too much of myself out there and I feel I am being attacked for it.

I'm done here.

Thank you for sharing a part of your story.  Many of us could write a book or at least give at testimony to potentially help someone else not make the same mistakes and what to look out for.  I appreciate you.

Marriage is a covenant when both are followers of Christ.  This covenant is not just between the man and the woman.  It is between the man, the woman and God. the Father.  Breaking the covenant is not available unless there is adultery (any kind of sexual lust) involved and even then He wants us to forgive and continue the marriage.   If forgiveness cannot be found He will let us break the contract but there will be consequences.  I could write a book of my 10 year marriage from hell and my 40 year marriage from heaven.

Also the Bible says it is a Biblical divorce if an unbeliever leaves.

Are you here? Are any of us actually here? Or...

Are we sitting somewhere hundreds (or thousands) of miles away from the Worthy server, sipping coffee? :o

That was a wonderful post overall, and I didn't have the heart to give it a laughing reaction when it deserved more than that. Nuance is key so perhaps I might presume to offer some counsel?

Consider the source, brother. Enough said, no?

I have water actually and was not even going to come into this thread at all.  I also noticed you seem to have mastered getting the coffee cup under the coffee maker before hitting the start button! Or at least I have not heard otherwise.  :emot-highfive:

Real relationships are really hard.  Here we have a block button if someone irritates us enough.  Hang in there @Starise.  Many of us love who you are and appreciate your wisdom and knowledge.

His sense of humor is what I truly like about Pat. My sarcastic tone and dry humor has gotten into several pickles on here.  If in doubt I put up the :sarc:sign or the :24: or the :help: signs.  I know who your were talking to Pat but she is fine too.  Just another kind of sense of humor but she does not mix words or tread lightly in some conversations.

Nuance is difficult to convey in a written medium such as this one, to be sure. The best sarcasm sails on by without being recognized as sarcasm, or so they say. So, here's my question:

Who are "they?"

Oh, this particular incident is a new one. :45:

I haven't failed to situate the cup 'neath the business end of the coffee brewer in ages. I done good and remembered not to forget that one!

Nope, this incident was grind-related. I apply fresh grind to the receptacle in yon brewer using a specialized scoop. I can only imagine how many mechanical engineers were required to make that scoop a reality...

Anyway, that scoop has a lid which serves as a handy-dandy funnel. This ensures that not a grain of precious grind is lost in the procedure. I neglected to notice that the funnel lid wasn't securely in place so when I dumped that wonderful ground Death Wish into the receptacle, coffee spilled all over the place.

Yep, because we are never to be yoked to an unbeliever in the first place.  But if that person is pretending to be a believer and manipulates the believer into a pretend marriage the marriage is invalid.  I have one friend who married when they were both unbelievers. She became a believer early on.  She stayed with her cheating mate for decades and then he finally came to the Lord.  They both had awesome testimonies to share in marriage classes until the end of their lives.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
