I'm not a big GWB fan but I can't think why we would have the right to speculate on another person's faith. :emot-handshake:

I'm NOT a Bush basher...BUT...aren't we supposed to judge one another?

Not like in hatred or screaming but "set each other straight"?

Look at Katrina!!!!!

Where was he????

Yomo, he was where he should have been. Unlike in many other countries, the Federal government cannot go into a State or Municipality uninvited. The problem we Americans suffer is one of multiple personalities. On one hand we want the government OUT of our business until we have a need. Then we want them in there and blame them when they did not anticipate our need. Just like children. Regardless, George Bush did everything within his power beginning with declaring the area a federal disaster area before Katrina hit.

Regarding the original post, I see similarities between President George Bush and King Hezekiah who "did what was right in the eyes of the LORD." [2 Kings 18:3] Although he loved the Lord and was favored, King Hezekiah was NOT perfect and suffered from PRIDE. [2 Chronicles 32:25] During his reign, Judah was invaded and put under seige by Assyria. Bad things happened even though he had God's favor AND he made BIG mistakes, which eventually led to the destruction of Judah by the Babylonians. [2 Kings 20:13-15]

Read the story of King Hezekiah and see the similarities for yourself. Often, we expect way too much out of our worldly leaders and forget that they are but flesh just like the rest of us.

May the Lord Bless you richly,

Wayne

Nobody knows his faith like he does so one cannot judge his eternal state. All I can say is that if he's a born-again believer he must be reading a different Bible than I do. :emot-handshake:

Bush needs our prayers daily.... not just once in a while but each and every day for he is being attacked every time he turns arround....

you know some one loves the Lord and trys to do what the Lord wants by the attacks they receive from the spirit world... from our enemy....

we are to lift our leaders up to the Lord daily.... city, county, state and national....

Kerry gets attacked quite a bit. So does Kennedy.

You know, I've said this before, and maybe it bears repeating.  I just don't think that we, as common citizens, quite understand the kind of pressures that high political offices hold.  Politicians have to try to be all things to all people, and at the same time keep their constituancy happy for the next election.

I know that a lot of Christians and Chrsitian conservatives want George Bush to act more like the pope, but acting too religious is political suicide.  However, if you look at his presidency in comparison with others, Bush has always taken heat for being too Christian.  So it's really a no-win situation for the brother.  On the one hand he's accused of being too religtious and giving preference to the "Christian conservative base" and on the other hand the "Christian conservative base" accuses him of not being Christian enough!

In your daily work environment do you run around the office screaming, "I'M A CHRISTIAN" every opportunity you get?  When you stand in front of a room full of co-workers to give a presentation, or if you're giving a presentation to some clients, do you talk about your Christianity?  In fact, when you're on company time do you walk around the office talking about your faith?  Or do people at your office know your a Christian because of your manner of living and your attitude?

Well, the President of the United States is at work all the time.  He is being watched on all sides, in every spectrum.  His entire life is laid out before the world.  How would you like that?  How would your "Christianity" hold up against those kinds of pressures?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You make a good point... one that I've made before regarding the Pres.

The major problem I have with Bush is that he put his hand on the Bible and took a "so help me God" oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. In return, he has systematically destroyed it.

I'm really hoping that his Supreme Court nominees help to overturn Roe. I do believe that Bush has a very tender heart for people and for the children. I do believe that, deep down, Bush is a good man with a good heart. But, having said that, it still isn't a good thing to use political office for selfish ambition.

Then you should go to him and explain to him the things that he is doing wrong.

You and him, one on one.

If you can't do that, then you should keep your judgments to yourself.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but that is what I believe.

No. Correction is one thing, but judgment is another matter entirely. Only Jesus Christ is the righteous judge.

I am a Christian, but am I qualified to be President? No

Is Bush a good president? Absolutely not.

Given these two statements, then, I'd say you and Bush were on an even keel.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
