I was lost, as a catholic because I never heard I needed to be saved, nor born again. EVER.

Did you ever read the catechism?

PROLOGUE

"FATHER,... this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."1

"God our Saviour desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."2

"There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"3 - than the name of JESUS.

Yes, I had to listen to the catechism class assignment, just like English math or geography etc.

Taught orally mostly. Not from any bible, but RCC church dogma.
Dogma;
-a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true.
-something held as an established opinion especially : a definite authoritative tenet.

*literal meaning of dogma in ancient Greek was "something that seems true." These days, in English, dogma is more absolute.

"According to the official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, faith is necessary for salvation. That's good, but they don't stop there. Faith, in Catholic theology, is merely the starting point. They build from there adding to faith other works of man – including involvement in “the Church” and tradition"

A dogma of the Catholic Church is defined as "a truth revealed by God, which the magisterium of the Church declared as binding."[1] The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

The Church's Magisterium asserts that it exercises the authority it holds from Christ to the fullest extent when it defines dogmas

The magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church is the church's authority or office to give authentic interpretation of the Word of God, "whether in its written form or in the form of Tradition."[1][2][3] According to the 1992 Catechism of the Catholic Church, the task of interpretation is vested uniquely in the Pope and the bishops,[4] though the concept has a complex history of development. Scripture and Tradition "make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God, which is entrusted to the Church",[5] and the magisterium is not independent of this, since "all that it proposes for belief as being divinely revealed is derived from this single deposit of faith."[6]

How about yourself, John? Were you taught catechism in the RCC dogma?

I noticed Jill you listed praying as an interest... could you talk a little about that like: how you do it, why, what frame of mind are you in when you do it ... stuff like that?

I pray the rosary daily and go to church on every Sunday.

POPE ??  CATECHISM ??

EPHESIANS 1:17  that the  GOD  of our  LORD  JESUS  CHRIST  THE  FATHER  of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation ---in the knowledge of  HIM---

--1:22--  and hath put --all things-- under  HIS  feet and gave  HIM   --to be the head over all things--  to the church

--1:23-- which is  HIS  body the fulness of  HIM  that filleth all in all

ACTS 1:1  the former treatise have I made o theophilus of  ---all that  JESUS---  began both to do and to teach

--1:2--  until the day in which  HE  was taken up  --after--  that  HE  through the holy spirit had given commandments  --  unto the apostles whom he had chosen

JOHN 12:49  for I have not spoken of myself but  --THE  FATHER--  which sent  ME  HE  gave  ME  a commandment what I should say and what I should speak

HEBREWS 1:1  GOD who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in  --time  past--  unto the fathers by the prophets

--1:2--  hath in these last days spoken unto us by  HIS  SON  whom  HE  hath  --APPOINTED  HEIR  OF  ALL  THINGS--  by whom also   HE  made the worlds

2 TIMOTHY 2:7  consider what I say  --and     --THE  LORD--     give thee understanding  ---  in all things--

JOHN 15:5  I  AM  THE  VINE  YOU  ARE  THE  BRANCHES  ---HE  THAT  ABIDETH  IN  ME--- AND  I  IN  HIM  THE  SAME  BRINGETH  FORTH  MUCH  FRUIT  ---FOR  WITHOUT  ME  YOU  CAN  DO  NOTHING---

JOHN 14:14   --IF--  YOU  SHALL  ASK  ANYTHING  IN   --MY  NAME--  I WILL DO IT

PSALM 119:36  incline my heart unto thy testimonies  --and not to covetousness--

EZEKIEL 33 :31  and they come unto thee as the people cometh and they sit before thee as  MY  people and they hear thy words  --but they will not do them--  for with their mouth they show much love but  --their heart goeth after their covetousness--

PROVERBS 28:16  the prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor  --but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days

EPHESIANS 5:5  FOR  THIS  YOU  KNOW  THAT  NO  WHOREMONGER  NOR  UNCLEAN  PERSON  ---NOR  COVETOUS MAN---  WHO  IS  AN  IDOLATER---  hath any inheritance in the kingdom of  CHRIST  and of  GOD

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
