I haven't run across this anywhere so any opinions thoughts or insights to Scriptures that might help set it straight will be much appreciated

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Does it say anywhere that this only applies to the natural body?

Given we are told we will never die, have been made new, been reborn,  is it possible for any part of THOSE HAVING BEEN SAVED to descend other than the natural flesh body become nothing more than a carcass going back to the dust of the earth?

Could our spiritual body descend and still 'remain alive' without a spirit/soul?

If our spirit ascends and our spiritual body descends and remains in the grave as the natural body decays to await the return of Christ to be raised up,  wouldn't it become corrupted?

If corruption can not inherit incorruption 15:50, and the spiritual body has been corrupted, then how does it inherit incorruption when it is raised when Christ returns?

Those who have been 'saved' have ALREADY died (descended sown seed of spiritual body) and RISEN with Christ (ascended) and been made NEW creatures.  Aren't we made 'new' by being BORN OF THE SPIRIT and wouldn't our SPIRITUAL BODY be born and bee needed for the Holy Spirit to dwell within us?  Is it possible for the Holy Spirit to dwell in a sinful natural body?  Wouldn't be being born of the spirit be the BIRTH of the NEVER DIE parts of ourselves that ASCENDs to go be where He is so we can receive the things done in this body at the death of the flesh ?

In CONTRAST

Those who have not become new creatures, have not been saved and are dead spiritually  DESCEND at death
ALL of them descends, their spirits go to hades their bodies in the grave.  Their spiritual seed body sown in corruption and that is why they are raised imperishable but not immortal,  as they have to wait for the GWTJ (remain spiritually dead another 1000 years) for their names to be written into the book or be cast into the lake of fire.

ark 2:18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

Mark 2:19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

Mark 2:20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

Mark 2:21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

Mark 2:22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

This one of the most important questions.

Jesus teach the people, the people at hand were the Jews and Pharisees and other groups or other Israelites devotees to the Law of Moses.

Those people study the books in the bible and the prophets and also Genesis...

From Genesis they learned about Adam...they knew that one day Adam disobeyed God and Adam fall from Life unto Death....

Adam inherited death and he pass death unto his children children to all mankind till the death of Jesus Christ...

That time something happened, death was defeated by Jesus Christ, and Death let go of anyone who he had hold under the disobedience of Adam, everyone who was held by him was set free...

Jesus Christ preached the Gospel to them right there where they were. Those who believe in Jesus Christ in what he preached to them, those who recieved him and believe in his word and that he is from God were at that time in Jesus Christ..

Death and Hades were disarmed, Jesus took their Keys from them.

What they were doing before they cannot do it anymore...

From that time on Jesus Christ is in charge of everything, everyone at the time of his death has to be process by Jesus Christ...he has to appear before Jesus Christ and be Judged according to his faith in him first, everyone who is found to have the faith of Jesus Christ in his heart...is on the way to Heaven. His works and his service to Jesus Christ are recognized and are taken into consideration for his Heavenly Life.

Every one who deny or who refused to believe Jesus Christ and did not repent from his refusal to believe is taken to Hades and his works are taken and will be taken into consideration for his Life in Hades and for his placement in that place. And for what other reasons God has appointed everything regarding these matters...

One thing is to hold into remembrance is that at the Cross death was defeated, Jesus Christ stripped Death and Hades from their authority to hold the people when they died because of the inherited death from Adam upon them..at that time death was lifted up from all the people of the world which had died from the beginning including Adam till the time of Jesus Christ on the Cross...

Also the death Inheritance from Adam was lifted up from everyone who lived at that time and their children's children...no one from that time on was in Adam's death Inheritance...

At the time when Death and Hades were defeated, the scripture was fulfilled.

Death and Hades gave up all the dead in them, the sea gave up all the dead in it, to be Judged by Jesus Chris.

About Abraham whom the Lord God Almighty had given him his own Inheritance after death and not only for him but also for his children and whom God had set aside from the rest of the world in Life and in death....

Because God was their God while they lived and continued to be their God after they died...

They at the time of their death were gathered to Abraham in a separated place in the place of the dead, separated from the other dead of the world, because they were God's children in Life and in death, they continue to be God's children in Abraham after they died...

This is why they were alive to God because they were still God's children after their death....them down there and the Lord their God not with them but they were his children and he was their God in this format..

For that reason Hades was off limits to the place where Abraham and his children were waiting for Jesus Christ to descend to them and to give them of his Life and to make them co-heirs together with him of Heaven...

Heaven is another realm is not the sky, as some erroneously say, because the sky and the Synpan (in Greek) aka universe are created things, and Heaven was existed before the Creation in Genesis.

The point is, when Abraham died Hades never touch him he was not there to take him to his place and hold him together with the rest of the people of the world because of Adam.

Abraham was the Patriarch of God's people and God had given Abraham his own in Inheritance after death and for his people, so at the time of his death God made the arraignment for him to go to the place where he and his children will wait for Jesus Christ to take them to Heaven, the first fruits, the first ones to receive the eternal Life of Jesus Christ..

Jesus said that Abraham knew of that day and he rejoiced...John the Baptist was also their to prepare the people for the coming of Jesus Christ.

The word "spiritual" can mean TWO things;

  1. It had its origin in the Holy Spirit like the Church is a "spiritual House" in 1st Peter 2
  2. It is spirit in substance like God (Jn.4:24)

Now, 1st Corinthians 15:44 says; "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body".

Which definition applies? Number 1 applies because our Lord Jesus went to lengths to show, and tell His disciples that His body was NOT spirit in substance (Lk.24:39).

Thus, the premise you have used about a spiritual body is not found in scripture. Maybe that is what causes the dilemma.

Flesh will be raised to inherit the earthly kingdom of promise as Jesus was raised from the dead in the flesh.
To ascend to be with Christ in glory we will need a spiritual body for no flesh will glory in God's presence. We in the body of Christ with a heavenly inheritance will be transfigured as Christ was and ascend to be where He is and our flesh will return to the dust from which it came.

Christ ascended and offered His bloodless body as a living sacrifice to be burned on the heavenly altar of God the Father and from the ashes of His sinless sacrifice the Holy Spirit descended.

note Jesus says He (son of man) is in heaven yet, He is in the flesh when He says it.

and it seems you don't know where heaven is:

There is one thing that helps a lot. In Colossians 1:18 we learn; "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."

Besides it putting Christ first in everything, it also guarantees that no man will do anything different to our Lord. Any man who does something different has preeminence in that experience and would void the verse above. If, for instance, a man was resurrected with two noses, he, and NOT Christ would have preeminence in this area of noses. In life and death the Man Jesus was "like" His brethren, and no more so than in Hebrews 2:17;

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

In life and in death and resurrection, Jesus Christ is preeminent AND this means no one can do anything different.

If this is true, then we all will be resurrected LIKE Jesus. We can safely take all that transpired in the case of our Lord Jesus as our portion too. Our Lord went to great lengths to prove that He was physical, he excluded any chance of being a "spirit" being, and He still bore His wounds in His resurrection body. And when, some 2,000 years later, He bursts through the clouds "the Jews will look upon Him Whom they PIERCED" (Ps.22:16, Zech.12:10, Matt.24:31, Jn.19:37, Rev.1:7).

Let it be settled forever. Our Lord Jesus does not possess a body made of spirit-substance. He was a physical Man to save men, and He is a physical Man to take possession of the Earth - as God ordained in Genesis 1:26-28 and 2:7. And if so, then (i) no other man will do anything different, and (ii) there is no record of a man having a body of spirit-substance.

And if the argument is put forward from 1st Corinthians 15:50-54 that we are to be "changed", ... then the change is that we will not LIVE by blood. In various scriptures like Genesis 9:4, the human is kept alive by his blood. If his blood is shed he dies. From the blood are the issues of life, disease  and procreation (Act.17:26). But when Eve was built to be "meet" for Adam, she was "flesh and bones" (Gen.2.23). The blood is conspicuous by its absence. And so is the Church, which is built by men in resurrection, "flesh and bones" (Lk.24:39, Eph.5:30). The re-birth makes us sons of God having God's life and nature. According to Genesis 3:22, you do not need blood to live forever if you have eaten from the Tree of Life.

  1. We are born from the womb with a physical body sustained by flesh and blood
  2. We are born by the Holy Spirit in our human spirits only (Jn.3:6)
  3. We are resurrected in a physical body that is constructed by the Holy Spirit.

Thus, we are (i) "flesh and bones", (ii) members of Christ's Body being His "flesh and bones" and (iii) being Christ's Bride by being constructed by the Holy Spirit - making us physical in construction but "Spiritual" in ORIGIN (not substance)

The spirit goes back to God who gave it according to Ecclesiastes.  That's not your conscious being, but reference to life that makes who you are that God gave (this same spirit makes us God conscious).  He remembers who you were and can raise you as a new creation in the resurrection.  Like the animals, we go into the ground.  We all die and remember nothing any longer (Ecclesiastes 9:5).  You are unconscious until the resurrection which will be for all people, both righteous and wicked. I always say that the dead do not miss us.  We miss those who died.  Their next conscious moment is "absent from the body and present with the Lord". It's like a time machine where they instantly are transported to end times.  They may wake up surprised saying, "I just died.  How is it that everyone I knew is also here with me?" God's gift is to grant eternal life to those who believe.  Only God is inherently immortal.  Man does not have an immortal soul. He is subject to death.

You said something wonderful, and this is the part in your post that says that Jesus was made in everything just like his brothers...this is the same thing Moses said to the people... and why they were not surprised, when he said that right after the Covenant of Sinai....

Deuteronomy 18:15  in

15. The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

And in verse 18 and 19, the Lord spoke these words to Moses :

deuteronomy 18-19

18. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

19. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

A man led us unto death, and a man led us unto Life...

in Genesis 3: what beautiful words God spoke when he said to the Serpent "the seed of the woman will crush your head".

God declared that he is not going to create another man, just the way he created the first man Adam...

A man who will not have the death of Adam in him...This is another Adam.

But this is what he said: that the new Adam, or the next Adam, or the Adam who will crush your head will be born from a woman...but in their presence he said: Adam or any other descendants from Adam will have nothing to do with that...

The Serpent believe that this will come to pass and he had been waiting and preparing himself for thousands years for that moment, till the time of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem from the people, from his own people. As in John 1:

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

...He came to his own, and his own recieved him not, but to those who received him....to them he gave the power to become the sons of God....even to them that believe in his name...

Sorry that I have to say that...and I still have to say something about Job...they were not the disciples of Jesus Christ...and Jesus caution them to only teach what they learned from him and the Holy Spirit...and it is obvious that there is nothing in their teachings but to the contrary it is..about some statements in ecclesiastes and in Job.

John 1:11,12 AND 13

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The verse 13, and other similar verses that say that man is born from above from the Spirit of God in Jesus Christ.

These scriptures are shouting allowed that unless Jesus died on the Cross this could not happen and had not happened before the death of Jesus on the Cross, and it is impossible to happen without the blood of Jesus Christ, without Jesus who shed his blood for the forgiveness of our sins...

That's why Jesus and his disciples did not endorsed the comments in ecclesiastes, because man can only be born from above from the Spirit of God after Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the Cross...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
