If it had been me, I would have gone in looking for you.  I would not have left you.  I used to have give my brother a ride back and forth,  when he was in high school, and if he did not come out, I went in.  I did tell him at one point that he needed to be watching for me in the future.  I think your brother should have cut you some slack the first time but also admonished you to be outside/at the door watching for him.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well a loooooong time ago he came inside to get me and told me he'd never do that again. But that was forever ago and it wasn't really a "warning". He has told me before to be ready and not keep him waiting, but he never mentioned he'd leave me if I didn't obey...or I would've been watching for sure :emot-hug:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I never thought about threatening my brother with leaving. I used to threaten with Mom picking him up. She always embarassed him. Having her pick him up in front of his friends, was a fate worse than death. :b:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Oh he's embarrassed me PLENTY of times. I think I'd rather him leave me than embarrass me..ha.

Yes ma'am

OUCH! Touche! LOL

and I think he had a bad day. I guess I had just forgotten how hard-headed he can be. It's been a while since he's done something abrupt like this. One time when I was 11 or 12 he left me at home because I didn't get up on time and get ready for school. He later came and got me and took me in late, but didn't give me a note to get it excused. He said if I was going to irresponsible then I'd have to deal with the consequences at school for being late. Sheesh, he's so difficult!

You call that difficult??? Honey, I don't mean to talk down to you, but you should get on your knees and thank God that you have his influence in your life. Believe me, you are going to one day be thankful for a brother who did the hard work of raising you to be a productive, responsible citizen rather than take the easy way out and be your "friend", or worse - just not care if you get to school. He is making you see the consequences of your actions - do you see much of that anywhere in society today? No. You are very fortunate to have him in your life.

(Did I just say you'd look back one day and be thankful? Oy. I'm my mother. I knew this day would come. :emot-hug: I'm going to bed now. G'night.)

I agree. You need to be as accommodating as possible since they are doing you a favor on their own time.

with Gas, at the price it is, I would have personally shut the engine off and taken a nap while waiting....

my oldest son just graduated from H.S. last year, and my youngest step son is now 8th grade....

they both are going to a school out of district.... my eldest sons car has, umm, well, seen better days..... so we have been transporting them to the next town... Michael has gone there 4 years, and he has always taken a "zero" block ( Zero hour as some call it ) having to be there at 7:00 am.... he has also been in sports these four years, which means that he gets done at about 5 or 5:30 or some times 6:00 and then some times had to be back at 7:00 for an event..... Daniel, starts at 8:00 and gets done at 3:00 so there are times that we would make upto 5 ro und trips to get the boys to and from school and to and from their events.....

waiting was never an issue.....

being self employed has made this very much a pleasure.... if i showed up early, i would grab the Bible, or an Evangel, or a Live and read.... some times I had another book to read.... other times i would take a nap until they showed up, then i would transport them home and then go back to work while they did hteir home work......

i enjoyed the wait..... a person can even learn a new song to sing at church during this time......

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
