Was Moses stammerer?

When the Creator sent Him to go to Egypt, he excused himself saying:

•    Exo 4:10 (LEB) -> “And Moses said to Yahweh, "Please, Lord, I am not a man of words, neither recently nor in the past nor since your speaking to your servant, because I am heavy of mouth and of tongue."”.

•    Exo 6:12 -> “But Moses said to the LORD, “Behold, the people of Israel have not listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?””.

•    Exo 6:30 -> “But Moses said to the LORD, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips. How will Pharaoh listen to me?””.

What did Moses mean? Many people say that he was stutterer. Nonetheless, take a look at what Stephen said:

•    Act 7:22 -> “And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in his words and deeds.”

Therefore, Moses’ problem wasn’t stuttering. The problem with Moses is the same as we can see in most of the religious leaders today. They are excellent to preach sermons, give lecture. But, when the subject is debates, they are terrible:

•    They aren’t eloquent because the majority of them know the Holy Scripture only shallowly (most of their ken comes from extra-biblical sources) and, for this, can’t convince anybody;
•    They are heavy of mouth and tongue (uncircumcised lips) because, when they can’t win the confront, they use of sharp words to hurt their opponent (instead of fulfilling the verse below):
o    Tit 1:9 -> “holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict the gainsayers.”.

If you observe the context, you will see that the Creator was sending Moses to confront pharaoh, king of Egypt.

Of course, it is a very difficult situation but, as the Creator promised to be with His mouth, he would be successful (as He was with Ezekiel’s mouth – Ez 3:26,27). As he didn’t accept readily the Creator’s calling, He wasn’t able to refrain his lips in Meribah (Psa 106:32-33).

The Creator desired to make perfect His power in Moses’ weakness (see 2Cor 12:9,10), but, due to the uncertainty of Moses, the Creator divided His unction between Moses and Aaron. As Aaron spoke well, he didn’t need the Creator’s operation so desperately (he wasn’t so dependent of Him).

For this sake, Moses didn’t have sufficient spiritual force to stay calm in Meribah and, for this, he was hampered to come into the promised land.

So, have a good day accepting what Jesus promised for you readily. Even if you don’t figure out His will or it wasn’t what you, at first, planned, give in on Jesus’ will and this will fulfill in you life:

•    Eph 3:20 -> “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,”.

Another reason is often put forth. All the men Who God used for a big work, had a period of dealing by God. The reason is that no man is actually equipped to do God's work, and if he/she wants to be effective, the first lesson is "I can't". To be a king second to Pharaoh, Joseph must be dealt with for nearly 20 years. To be king over Israel, David must face the bear and the lion, herd sheep, face Goliath and then face Saul's murderous intentions for 14 years. For the great job of leading God's People out of bondage, Moses must spend 40 years in the courts of Pharaoh. During that time he was schooled in physics that are still a mystery today - building the pyramids. Mose would have known that earth was round, its circumference an the seasons. He was a brilliant man and a strong personality. All can be used by God, but not when the man is the source.

The results of Moses' natural ability was murder. And he must flee instead of helping Israelites. For the next 40 years all Moses heard was the bleating of sheep. And the lessons learned on herding sheep must be learned in the "back-side" of the wilderness. What ever happened to him is not recorded, but the man "mighty in word and deed" had no confidence in himself. So it is with all men who would serve the Lord. You need a "wilderness" experience. Like Israel, the old generation that knew Egypt must die off. A New generation, spawned in a hot and dreary environment, must be produced. And so it is with the character of God's servant. The old must die and the new, supplied by God, must replace it. And usually the new is a total lack of confidence in the self.

God can use a capable man, but he must be tempered by the fires of trial.

May be this was like how Moses hit the rock when he was mad at the Jews.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
