I do think that I understand the verse.  I think it's great to "boast" about what Jesus did for us but that's not the same as someone proclaiming to others that they are "saved".  :noidea:

Proclaim;   announce officially or publicly.
Tell;   communicate information, facts, or news.

I enjoy sharing the good news to strangers. I have my method, first talking about the troubled times leading up to how now as a believer in Jesus Christ God has taken care of our family. I state how I heard the gospel, believed and was saved, born again. I share how God loves them and wants everyone to be saved.

I have never heard anyone even suggest that telling others I am saved sounded haughty or bragging. This is a new one on me. Like saying I'm chose to get married, and now I'm married. Is that haughty and arrogant?

People who do not believe in telling others about the gospel
will find fault with those who do.

I do not go around telling strangers I'm saved

I know how hard it is to get out from under the catholic teachings, to find out the truth of God's word. I love all catholics as most of my relatives are still catholic. They have never learned the doctrines of the faith in God's word. I share with each one how I heard the word, a verse,  of a non catholic baptist and how that word entered my mind, the scripture was from Jesus who said; "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"    John 3:3

I do not know how I could share the gospel without sharing that I was saved, and they also need to be saved. No bragging, only the truth of the gospel.
Again, I am not ashamed of the gospel. (it saved me-"and the WORD was God!")

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. ”
Romans 10:9-10

I DO appreciate your feedback along with all of the other loving feedback that I have received.  I understand that some may dislike my perspective but I hope that they will not be angry with me because of it.  We're all going to have some minor differences of interpretation on some matters.  It's ok.  We can still be saved even if we don't fully understand every facet of existence, or so I believe.  After all, one doesn't have to be a Bible scholar to be saved, right?  :)

What did I do?  I was not calling you stupid.  "It's not rocket science" is something I say all the time about salvation.  It's a phrase - not an accusation.

C'est la vie - as you will.

It sounds as if I misunderstood your message.  Please forgive me.  Thank you and God bless you.

I appreciate and have enjoyed our discussions NotW,  and have no idea of your stand on sharing the gospel.  I remember the years it took me to be free from the years of teachings in the RCC, and only wanted to try to free you of any guilt the catholic church uses to keep members in line through their false dogma. It is good to seek answers, wise to hear counsel, and neat to share what nuggets you have acquired as a believer. It would be wrong for me too say other than what I believe.

Concerning sharing the gospel or attending an assembly of believers, church, I have come up against some here who do not believe it is necessary to share the good news or attend a church, and though the word says to do them,  they will let you know why they do not......

Ok, thanks.

I absolutely believe in sharing the word and I do so often.  I have absolutely no guilt whatsoever when it comes to the RCC.  They are "of the world" and are nobody to me.  If anyone should feel guilty it is they.

. . . And then there's Paul's thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and keep him humble so that he wouldn't boast because of his visions and revelations of the Lord.

2Co 12:6  For though I might desire to boast, I will not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me.

2Co 12:7  And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

I think it's fine, but it has to be done in the right spirit and in the right time and place. The glory for our salvation belongs to Jesus, so using it for self-glorifying or coming off as holier than thou would be doing it wrong. On the other hand I see nothing wrong with a Christian feeling assured in salvation, especially when it helps persuade the lost or reassure other believers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
