@David1701 FYI......any wisdom?

As I posted previously, I would not get a tattoo at all.

I wore a cross lapel pin, on my jacket, for a while, but I kept getting a gentle nudge from the Lord that this was not his will.  A few Christian friends quietly expressed doubts about it as well, but I continued.  Then it started to fall off, more and more often, for no apparent reason.  Then, one day, it fell off when I was out, and it was gone.  I haven't worn one since.

Tattoos are like lapel pins on steroids.  We are to be the Lord's epistle, written on our hearts, not our skin.

Two favorite granddaughters have them as well as many friends.

Granddaughters were 18 when they get theirs.

@Willa Do you think that they are done, yet, receiving inking?

(Because it seems that from a certain age onwards, among those of the younger generation, it is to them something supposedly important to receive.)

Among older Christians at least three possible - conflicting - strategies seem anyway to have emerged: 1) fight it; 2) ignore it; 3) embrace it.

Can't say I embrace any of the strategies.  I just think the human body is more beautiful without them. Used to paint and draw portraits.  My goal was to reveal the personality of the person in their expressions.  I diminished the clothing by making it more impressionistic as well so that the emphasis was on the nuances of skin tones rather than being distracted by the detail in clothing. The same applies to tats.  They to me are a distraction rather than an enhancement.  That is just my values and my way of seeing people.

I guess people are free to do as they choose. I don't have one, won't get one, and I don't see the allure.
