Mark Malone:

If you must preach, at least don't let it be a bunch of (very recent) traditions of men, and other Bravo Sierra.

The flesh profiteth NOTHING. It is our sprititual relationship with the Father which will determine our eternal inheritance, not something merely physical. "Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, will you now be perfected by the flesh???"

While it is true that the flesh profiteth nothing, it is also true that what we do in the flesh has a direct correspondence to our belief. All you have to do is read the book of James to know that that your faith is shown by your works. Therefore, if in fact the chip is the mark, and someone were to take it, even though it is a natural thing, that person would be proving that he or she really has no belief in God at all. Without the mark a person will not be able to buy or sell. So, taking it proves that you are more interested in your natural life than your faith in God. God is able to take care of His sheep.

We are proving every day of our lives who is in control of our life by our choices. Are we ruled by this flesh? Or does Jesus rule in our spirit? Jesus had total control over his flesh. His spirit was in control. He left us an example that we have to let him rule over our flesh. Otherwise, we're in big trouble when the big decision time comes. God is leading everyone on earth to that valley of decision. What will you decide? Esau gave it all up for a bowl of pottage. He couldn't get it back even though he carefully sought it with tears. So, you may think that it's just a natural thing but there is so much more to it. The natural proves what is in the spirit.

The mark of the beast has to do with worship. The seal of the living God is the seventh-day sabbath. So the mark has be something that contests with Sabbath.

if you are not worshipping the Lord God, then who are you truely worshipping?

Reply to All: No one today has or will have the mark of the Beast of Revelation because the Beast existed in the first century. John was told to write those things which must shortly take place and that the time was "near." All of this fanciful speculation comes from not placing the Book of Revelation in its proper time frame. It is a direct fulfillment of the woes pronounced by Jesus (Matthew 23) upon that wicked and perverse generation who were to be held accountable for all the righteous blood shed on the earth. "All these things will come upon THIS generation" (Jesus' contemporaries). In Chapter 24 of Matthew Jesus spells out some of the things that will come upon them and the things His disciples should watch for and be ready for. They would all happen to "this generation" --His contemporaries (Matthew 24:34). Have any of you even considered the possibility of what I and a growing number of people are saying? I was once deeply entrenched in pre-trib, pre-mil dispensationalism. I earned a Master of Divinity degree from Grace Theological Seminary--a thoroughly dispensational school. Have any of you really studied the Book of Revelation from beginning to end? Have you really considered any options to what you have been taught and to what you believe? The Revelation is a fascinating book filled with marvelous fulfillments of God's promises and encouragement and comfort to those suffering the Tribulation under the first-century apostate Jews and the Roman authorities. I would be interested in looking at the whole of the Book with anyone who is interested, beginning with why it was written, when it was written, and the circumstances surrounding its writing. Perhaps a lot of speculation and opinion could be eliminated. Any takers? :emot-lwt:

Wherever you see the mark, you also see the worship of the beast....
No mention of 'and worship' here:

Rev 13:16-17 KJV And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

"and them" here denotes separate people from "them that had received the mark of the beast":

Rev 19:20 KJV And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Perhaps they are 'them' that have "the name of the beast, or the number of his name" as not all have the 'mark' to buy and sell in this beasts system:

Rev 13:16-17 KJV And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Maybe we didn't make it...

Anways, I was talking to another friend of mine who lives in Tennesee and he said that he had seen a special commercial on TV about how there's these new computer chips and they want to stick them in us and how great it will be because all of our information is on these and all we have to do is walk by a machine at check out and it will deduct the funds and where ever we go machines will know our preferences in lightning and music and isn't that wonderful...

I'll pass. Not because I think its the beast though, that's only part of it. Mainly because I ain't having no one stick nothing in me.

My temple. Back off!

Salt, look at the first word in verse 16..... it begins with the word "And" which means that it is following up part of the contextual thought for that whole paragraph. It is what happens when you pull one or two verses out of a chapter and make closely focused points with them.

This thought starts with verse one and the rest of the verses and sentences start with the word "And" which ties all of it up together. The worship part is in verse 15.......

011And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. 12And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 13And he performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. 14And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. 15And there was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast might even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, 17and he providesthat no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, eitherthe name of the beast or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

NASB

When you get to verse 18 it says that here is wisdom..... the number of the beast is that of a man and his number is 600 and 60 and 6. It is his number and not yours. a chip is nothing more than an electronic social security number, and can just as easily be removed as poping a boil when it is ripe. They are working on chips that are deep planted into organs that are not going to be removable, but I don't think anyone in their right mind would take one of those.

Don't get me wrong, I am not looking for the first implanting truck that come by and will be very unlikely that I would take any chip, but I just don't believe at this time we can say what it is, and to declare the chip as the mark is focusing too much on a technology that could confuse non believers when something else a bit more unglamorous comes along...... like a yellow happyface. {{{{ :wub: }}}}

I would compare some that have degree's such as PHD's and Masters and even bachlors and associates degree's along the same line as the pharisee's and sadducees.....

my ex, loved to hold her education onver people with out ever stopping to think that maybe, just maybe, they have more education then she does....

I know one fellow, who can quote scripture from morning til nite, and not miss a beat, but his practices, and deads and speach does nothing but twist it.....

now, if all the stuff had been done in the first 40 years ( considered a generation ) after Christ left this earth after his 40 days on this earth after his death and resurrection, then why has not the battle of Armagedon happened??? and what about the battle of gog and magog???? what happened to the 1000 years that CHrist was going to rule in the new Jerusalem.

Christ even told us that there will be some of this generation that will not taste death before His return.

24Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25For whoever wants to save his life[h] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. 26What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. 28I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

34Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35For whoever wants to save his life[c] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? 37Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 38If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

1And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power."

49"I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death."

now, after Christ said all this, what happened to the apostles?????

Simon Peter: He was thrown in a dungeon for 9 months and then crucified. Peter demanded to be crucified in a reverse position with his head down, document found says Peter witnessed his own wife lead out to her death. Peter called out to his wife very encouraging and comforting

Rev 1:19 "Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter"

This doesn't mean the Beast was coming 100 years later. Its the Lord's commandment for John to write about what he had seen, then what he was seeing then, and then to be prepared to write for what he was about to see of things to come.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
