Oh so that's what it is! I have the gift of singleness.

Is there a return policy on this gift??

Maybe all the nice, single gals could help Mikado out by sharing the kind of places you "hang out".

I'm not qualified to help with this one. :34:

Where should he go to meet "nice" girls?????

:mgcop:

Paul also says in 1Corinthians 7:7-8,

Well, my brother has a seven year old daughter. He says that he plans to keep her locked in her room until she's thirty!

All the nice girls are stuck at home typing on their computers, tired of the junk that they are met with in public. Pervs, dorks, and vain guys that can't keep their eyes on the qualities in life that are REALLY important. Can't go to the bars to pick up the good ones, cause well we dont populate bars.

Have you tried coffee shops, bookstores, Wal-mart even :lightbulb2:

The important thing in all of this is not what you are looking for. Instead of looking for Mrs. Right, ask yourself if you are Mr. Right. We need to be less concerned with what WE want out of someone else, and spend more time making sure that we measure up, and working on those things that need improvement. Love is not about what I want, but about what the other person wants. True love wants those things that make for their highest good and makes them happy, even to our own hurt. Love is not obsessed with wants and desires of self. Keep working on yourself and refining the rough edges. Just make sure you are ready when the right woman comes along.

This standard is impossible. The only person who has ever remotely met it is Jesus himself.

Sorry, but I'll be 90 years old and still not even remotely close to that.

I'm selfish.

Oppinionated.

stubborn.

lazy

etc,

etc.

and its not like you just flip a switch and any or all of those go away.

It is not an impossible standard, at all. It takes a discipline. The standard seems impossible to you, because you choose to remain selfish, over opinionated, lazy, etc. There is nothing impossible about daily renewing your mind in the Word of God and allowing Him to point out things in you that need to be gotten rid of.

I don't believe that God has one person pegged for you to marry. I have never believed that. I believe that God guides you in your choice, but if you are going to be selfish, then you will find yourself single the rest of your life. If you are insistent about inflating the value of your opinions, and you are not willing to put out the effort to be a desirable candidate for marriage, then you find yourself growing old alone. If you truly believe that God does not want anyone single, then you are effectively in rebellion against the Will of God, by making yourself an undesirable, and unqualifed candidate for marriage. God cannot provide you with a wife that you are going to verbally and emotionally abuse.

Love is the opposite of every quality you listed. You cannot just "flip a switch" and make those qualities disappear, but you can begin working on removing them out of your life, now. It is a path, a process, but not a one time event. You have a lot of work to do.

I admire a man who is strong enough to stand up for truth and justice, even when the crowd is against him; yet sensitive enough to share his truth in such a way as to not cause pain where it is not warranted----------and knows the difference.

You go girl!

This makes me one of the nice ones! I'm here behind the computer typing because I am so sick of men judging based on what I look like instead of who I am now. *sigh* Ok, done feeling sorry for myself.

Maybe volunteer work would be a good place to pick up a girl. I know that the places I volunteer are almost all female. Of course they are mostly much, much, much older females.

I agree. Volunteering is an awesome thing....guys! Go volunteer, help people and possibly pick up your future wife.

I have met very nice girls in the most unlikely places, and I have met very evil girls in the most unsuspecting places. You just never know. Right now, I got no one really important in my life, but there's a girl who I am her "boyfriend" and we chat or go hang out sometimes. Being 6'5" and 255 I tend to keep the pervs off her, and she doesn't mind seeing scary movies with me so it's a fair trade. And my ego gets a shot when I am with her and her friends. Something to be said being 39 and escorting 3 25ish y.o. females who buy your way and squeeze your arms to death when the killer jumps out of the closet. I think I am more like their dad, but only "cooler" as one of them put it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
