What better way to bolster pride and ego than for Gates and most politicians to leave their legacy in the cloud? 😊

This definition of consciousness is 195 years removed from AI.

C̵ON´SCIOUSNESS, n. The knowledge of sensations and mental operations, or of what passes in one’s own mind; the act of the mind which makes known an internal object.     Locke. Reid. Encyc.

Consciousness of our sensations, and consciousness of our existence, seem to be simultaneous.           Edin. Encyc. Consciousness must be an essential attribute of spirit.         Watts.

2. Internal sense or knowledge of guilt or innocence.

A man may betray his consciousness of guilt by his countenance.

3. Certain knowledge from observation or experience.[1]

Years ago, I wrote about these things on my website and for publication. They were rejected as science fiction and conspiracy theories. Today, no one has a leg to stand on that transhumanism is not taking place here and now.

I could write a book on it, but my legacy would be the author of the worst book in the top ten worst books of all time. My fourth teacher in my third year of 6th grade would have a fit with my grammar, punctuation, and “little Johnny” references. To all of my teacher’s dismay, I had the honor of being the very first to be drafted into the Army from 6th grade. 😊

But anyway, rather than rant on with my thoughts, what went around will come around again. I may be cherry-picking verses here.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. [emphasis added]

With our smart phones and artificial intelligence, are there any language barriers anymore? If there are no more barriers in communication, are we of one language?

Language translation software is clumsy and crude so far.  The best bet for a useful computer translator is to let the AI learn on its own.

A diet of too many movies and an appetite for wild imagination.

There is only one Creator of life, and He is God.

That was the premise in a short story I wrote years ago (that is sadly lost along with the others on an old 5.25" floppy disk):  humans were facing a crisis and the world had put their trust in the teams seeking AI, but the experts were up against a wall -- how to "program" volition.  Finally one scientist, one of the most brilliant of them, said, "A machine has no soul.  If we want intelligence in a machine, we'll have to transplant it".  So they picked up an old thread of research aiming at moving human consciousness into computer brains.

Another story hit the same theme with a different angle:  exploring around new stars, humans encountered what seemed like a machine race, one that was dying out.  They managed to discover the aliens' secret, how they had lived tens of thousands of years but were dying out:  the only way their ancestors had found to achieve AI was to transfer consciousness into machine brains.  At first it was only people deemed too important to die, like leading scientists and artists, but as the "brain"technology got better and the robot bodies improved immensely, anyone who could afford the transference made the leap.  So more and more individuals opted to switch to machine existence before old age; they didn't want to face the debilitating process of growing old.  This went on for centuries, the robot population steadily increasing.  Then somewhere along the line they noticed one day that there weren't enough of them living any longer to keep the race alive.  Rather than watch their biological brothers and sisters dwindle away, the effort was made to finish the task, and the entire race was made machine and they confidently faced the future in their vastly superior bodies with their vastly increased intelligence.  They found that people in robot bodies can fall in love just as easily as in biological bodies, and that the urge for children crossed over as well.

But there was something wrong with the children that came from blending mental algorithms from two parents; there was something missing, a spark that biological children had had.  It didn't take long to figure out once millions of hopeful parents had made complaints and the top experts from all the star systems where they lived got together:  the children had no souls -- souls, it seemed, only emerge in biological entities.  So their civilization was dying as accidents and occasional suicides took their toll.

The few humans capable of working on transferring human minds into computer brains, learning this, struggled to find a flaw in the aliens' research, but there was none, so one day they agreed to quietly eliminate all research on the topic, with warnings placed against pursuing it.

I started seeing that too a number of years ago, that is, that the whole AI and network deal was going to be integrated into a human.  Think how that would look if done successfully . . .a person would instantaneously - in their brain - have access to the full information of the internet.  Wow!  Not really much of a fantasy or conspiracy theory now, is it!?

Reminds me a little of when I worked for CompuServe back in the 80s. The CEO told us one day that soon even our local gas stations would have PCs, in order to process work and handle money.  We thought that was a pretty big stretch, but okay, it might happen some day, but probably not any time soon.  (to my surprise it started happening within about 5 years of that).  Then he said, "Well you think that's something . . . it won't be that much longer and we'll be able to sit in the middle of the woods and do phone calls seeing each others faces.  We'll also be able to watch movies and do everything we can now on a computer, but on a handheld device."  At that, most of us thought he was tripping on some really strong hallucinogens!

Point is, technology is increasing exponentially and everything we're talking about in this thread was perhaps yesterday's news.

I heard a talk not too long ago from a leading researcher in the field and he said that while planting chips on the outside of human skulls that the brain can interface with is in sight, connecting human brains to the internet isn't likely to be possible at all.  He gave a couple of reasons, but one stuck with me:  the internet sends information too fast for human brains to handle -- and if somehow someone managed to make an interface that allowed such speeds the person would almost certainly end up insane.  He concluded that if we want as humans to be able to connect directly to the internet, then we should be researching how to transfer human minds into circuits.

Interesting . . . but do we know that the beast is fully human, or perhaps part human/part angel or some demonic personality?  If so, there may be other possibilities with such an interface.  Of course, that's way out there thinking, but something/someone extremely powerful is coming down the pike to deceive all of mankind (again) and almost deceive the elect too. (We have to just also remember that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world!)

I have just watched Jordan Peterson`s interaction with AI and it is NOT scary.

Let me illustrate with our own small computers. We can go to a site and cut and paste a block of information and put it on our own page. Then we can choose what size, shape, and script we want. You may have many other programmed variations. In certain applications you can choose what style of format you want - personal letter, business letter, etc. And all those at a press of a button. It only takes a few seconds.

Now, with this greater computer the creators have programmed all sorts of variations -

Formats - essay, letter, poem, business, scientific etc.

Styles - Shakespeare, Old English, Biblical, Chinese, Islamic etc.

Languages - English, French, German etc

Rules - Clinic, Biblical, Military, Scientific etc

And so on. And they will keep updating the many variations that they can think of or see on the internet. So we can see that it wouldn`t take the greater computer long to lock in the variables asked for and then make the body of the text suit them.

Now, this AI, the greater computer, programmed by humans, cannot do these 3 things and never will.

1. Have self awareness. (This can lead to repentance of sin and receiving Christ.)

2. Have emotions. (This is necessary in relating to God and others.)

3. Have revelation knowledge by the Holy Spirit. (Man only knows a limited amount of knowledge of this earth and universe. The Holy Spirit reveals to us knowledge of Christ, His character and His purposes. This is only by the Spirit of the Lord.)

Let us not be in awe of what man can do, but rather what God has done, is doing and will do.

"AI is applied to medicine and has two main divisions, which are virtual and physical; the virtual part is acted by ML (also called deep learning), and its representation is achieved by mathematical algorithms, as a count of its experience; it improves learning. Based on ML algorithms, there are three divisions:

  1. Supervised (prediction and classification algorithms based on former examples)
  2. Unsupervised (patterns finding ability)
  3. Reinforcement learning (rewards sequences and punishments are used to build a scheme for operation in a particular problem)"

What Is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.

The ideal characteristic of artificial intelligence is its ability to rationalize and take actions that have the best chance of achieving a specific goal. A subset of artificial intelligence is machine learning, which refers to the concept that computer programs can automatically learn from and adapt to new data without being assisted by humans. Deep learning techniques enable this automatic learning through the absorption of huge amounts of unstructured data such as text, images, or video.
Key Take aways:
  • Artificial intelligence refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines.
  • The goals of artificial intelligence include learning, reasoning, and perception.
  • AI is being used across different industries including finance and healthcare.
  • Weak AI tends to be simple and single-task oriented, while strong AI carries on tasks that are more complex and human-like.

    Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI)

When most people hear the term artificial intelligence, the first thing they usually think of is robots. That's because big-budget films and novels weave stories about human-like machines that wreak havoc on Earth.

  • But nothing could be further from the truth

  • . Artificial intelligence is based on the principle that human intelligence can be defined in a way that a machine can easily mimic it and execute tasks.from the most simple to those that are even more complex.

  • The goals of artificial intelligence include mimicking human cognitive activity. Researchers and developers in the field are making surprisingly rapid strides in mimicking activities such as learning, reasoning, and perception, to the extent that these can be concretely defined. Some believe that innovators may soon be able to develop systems that exceed the capacity of humans to learn or reason out any subject. But others remain skeptical because all cognitive activity is laced with value judgements that are subject to human experience. As technology advances, previous benchmarks that defined artificial intelligence become outdated.

  • For example, machines that calculate basic functions or recognize text through optical character recognition are no longer considered to embody artificial intelligence, since this function is now taken for granted as an inherent computer function. AI is continuously evolving to benefit many different industries. Machines are wired using a cross-disciplinary approach based on mathematics, computer science, linguistics, psychology, and more.

  • Important: algorithms often play a very important part in the structure of artificial intelligence, where simple algorithms are used in simple applications, while more complex ones help frame strong artificial intelligence.

  • Application of Artificial Intelligence: The applications for artificial intelligence are endless. The technology can be applied to many different sectors and industries. AI is being tested and used in the healthcare industry for dosing drugs and different treatment in patients, and for surgical procedures in the operating room. Other examples of machines with artificial intelligence include computers that play chess and self driving cars. Each of these machines must weigh the consequences of any action they take, as each action will impact the end result. In chess, the end result is winning the game. For self-driving cars, the computer system must account for all external data and compute it to act in a way that prevents a collision.

  • Artificial intelligence also has application in the financial industry, where it is used to detect and flag activity in banking and finance such as unusual debit card usage and large account deposits—all of which help a bank's fraud department. Applications for AI are also being used to help streamline and make trading easier. This is done by making supply, demand, and pricing of securities easier to estimate.

  • Categorization of Artificial Intelligence: Artificial intelligence can be divided into two different categories: weak and strong. Weak Artificial intelligence embodies a system designed to carry out one particular job. Weak AI systems include video games such as the chess example from above and personal assistants such as Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri. You ask the assistant a question, it answers it for you.  Strong Artificial Intelligence systems are systems that carry on the tasks considered to be human-like. These tend to be more complex and complicated systems. They are programmed to handle situations in which they may be required to problem solve without having a person intervene. These kinds of systems can be found in applications like self-driving cars or in hospital operating rooms.

  • Special consideration:Since its beginning, artificial intelligence has come under scrutiny from scientists and the public alike. One common theme is the idea that machines will become so highly developed that humans will not be able to keep up and they will take off on their own, redesigning themselves at an exponential rate. Another is that machines can hack into people's privacy and even be weaponized. Other arguments debate the ethics of artificial intelligence and whether intelligent systems such as robots should be treated with the same rights as humans.

  • Self-driving cars have been fairly controversial as their machines tend to be designed for the lowest possible risk and the least casualties. If presented with a scenario of colliding with one person or another at the same time, these cars would calculate the option that would cause the least amount of damage. Another contentious issue many people have with artificial intelligence is how it may affect human employment. With many industries looking to automate certain jobs through the use of intelligent machinery, there is a concern that people would be pushed out of the workforce. Self-driving cars may remove the need for taxis and car-share programs, while manufacturers may easily replace human labor with machines, making people's skills more obsolete.

Just watched a video recently posted on Youtube by a popular fellow named Rick Beato.  He's a well known musician who deeply analyzes modern music.  He says he believes AI will destroy popular music (pop, rock, metal, etc.) and musical artists, because a huge portion of musicians  are now using "auto-tune" which corrects "defects" in voice and instruments.  In fact, he says AI is capable, more and more, of composing and performing entire songs.

Google : How Auto-Tune Destroyed Popular Music

Just another area where AI is touching our lives.  We shouldn't be too surprised at the next area we discover is actually AI produced . . .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
