In the Parable of the Ten Virgins, Jesus tells a story about a party of virgins, perhaps bridesmaids or torchbearers for a procession, chosen to participate in a wedding. Each of the ten virgins is carrying a lamp or torch as they await the coming of the bridegroom, which they expect at some time.

The custom was to have unmarried women in the brides procession party...

The bride stayed at her home and they went out waiting for the arrival of the bridegroom.....after recieving the word that the bridegroom is coming....

The ten virgins were not the  brides (ten)...not the ones to get married...they were the friends of the bride....

This is a parable of the Kingdom of God.....

The point is and the message to those Jesus was speaking who all of them (with a grain of salt) were looking forwards the coming of the Messiah....that not all of them will recognize him and wellcome him....

This is a prophetic message from Jesus...

This message also points to the way the Messiah will come....

He will not be announced in such a grand way that everyone will bow down to him...but rather in a way that the people will be divided among themselves.....asking is he really the Messiah or not....

And this is what Moses said: someone from amongst you, one of your kindred...that be will walked with you and you will not know that he is the one...or he would not be convinced that he is the one....

Moses is saying that he will not be announce from God in the same grand way he was announce to speak face to face with him the way he did with Moses...

But he also said that he will not talked to anyone else face to face...

This why Jesus said he has the WORD of God within him...what a terrible thing for Jesus to say that....that was the reason to be condemned to death....

To say God's spirit was abiding in himself..,and live...

The WORD of God within him.

Jesus was the first one to have the WORD of God in him and declared to the people.....

Moses had the word of God speaking to him face to face infront all the people and everyone heard what God was telling him...

But Jesus had to declare to the people what was THE WORD of God...

Jesus Christ was the first to have the WORD OF GOD...WITHIN........the Spirit of God within...he was the Temple of God of the Spirit of God...

In other words Jesus Christ was saying that some of them will welcome him and some of them will reject him...

And Jesus is raising another point that the Messiah will be the Judge of all...of those who receive him and of those who deny him....

Is it pointing to the Judgment after death when they were told "I do not know you" and because they were not in the righteousness of the Christ Jesus....something that can happen at a future time and after their death....

Because if it was at some time before their death they would have been offered repentance....only after their death when they appeared before the judgement sit of Jesus Christ---that time everyone will believe--‐but it is when they see Jesus Christ as the Lord and the Judge the one they rejected while they lived....

They believe after they see Jesus in his Glory and after their death...which is not counted...it is too late when they are outside their body...

This is why Jesus Christ said... bless are they who do not see me and believe...

In that Jesus was telling that everyone will see him and everyone will believe when they see him on their judgment day but only who believe in him before that day are the blessed ones...who believe in him before they died...ofcourse that includes that they died in the faith of Jesus Christ.

Hi,

Jesus gave a very important  Parable /story of the virgin/ bride and keeping their oil lamps full.

Matthew 25:1-13  is written in red in my bible to show these where the Words Christ Jesus spoke.

I am sticking with the facts of what the bible has to say and not articles like  @mabel gives to read that says: " The term "Bride of Christ" is nowhere in the Bible."

To say that also then implies that nowhere is the Holy Spirit mentioned in the bible., when Christ Jesus clearly mentions the comforter the Holy Spirit He will send, to those who believe in Christ Jesus being the promised Messiah and will teach them, comfort them, give them peace the world does not understand.

If you read Math 25, it is the chapter that follows ch24, Both are written in RED as these are the Words that Christ mentioned.

If this is correct then lets look at ch24 what did Christ say?

Math 24: 36-51 Note :the whole chapter is highlighted in red in my bible to show it is direct from Christ Jesus. I will highlight in red the points that show us that yes we who are truly in Christ are His bride.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of

heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then Christ Jesus says the following in ch25 giving another examaple of the ten virgins,  5  who neglected to fill up their lamps with oil=No Holy Spirit in them

The what does Christ Jesus mean when He mentions Mathew 25?

Christ Jesus says the door will be shut to those virgin brides with no oil in there lamps

Math 25:  Christ Jesus said:

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Then Christ jesus continues in Math ch.25:v14 to give another parable of the talents: meaning: When you are saved what do you do with your gift of Mercy and Grace?

In other words: will you cultivate your fruits of the Holy Spitit of God? or will you let your vineyard dry out and have it to be pruned out and burned.

Christ Jesus is writing in Parable:

.We are His Bride: If we are truly His bride we shall keep our oil lamps filled daily with the Holy Spirit of God working in us in daily relationship, communication with us

. We in Him are His VineIf We are truly His vine, we shall bear GOOD Fruit.

So then if you understand these parables from Christ Jesus.

We who are TRULY in Christ are His actively, daily, prepared Brides, we who are Truly in Christ are His branch that bears Good fruit form His Holy Spirit living and working in us, making us more and more the child of God we were always meant to be in Him.

A true beliver in Christ Jesus is:

.An active bride, Communing daily with the Holy Spirirt in their temple=Body. She is a prepared bride, keeping her lamp of the Holy Spirit full within her.

. A GOOd Branch nurturing and bearing Good  fruits from the Holy Spirit

Basically speacking :

we who are called by Christ Jesus:

the True Church

are also

called the True Bride,

are also called

The True Branch.

and Matthew 13:1-23  for the parable that Christ Jesus gave of the sower

We are called the seed planted in GOOD Soil

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Christ Jesus said:

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

If you truly understand Christ Jesus paraboles written in the book of Mathew:

you understand that those truly in Christ Jesus Are:

. The true Bride

.The true Branch

.The true Good seed bearing fruit.

What Scripture says Jesus is the church?

Ephesians 1:23 In-Context

22 God put all things under Christ's feet and gave Him to the church as supreme Lord over all things. 23 The church is Christ's body, the completion of Him who Himself completes all things everywhere

Revelation 21:9-11:

As the Corporate =Body Church we are the Bride of Jesus, Who is the Groom. But we are here called the Bride of Jesus, who is the Lamb. Jesus in not only the Groom but He is also the Lamb Who gave His life for our salvation.

Christ Jesus is

.The Head of The church

. The Groom of the bride

. The Lamb of God

And the meaning of the metaphor is . . . obviously not literal, certainly abstract, and definitely conceptual.

Eph 4:13-16
(13)  until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.
(14)  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming.
(15)  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
(16)  From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.

Yes, @1to3 As you may know there is a branch of study that deals specifically with what God communicates through the Bible and how He does it.

Some things are directly spoken, others are implied, and much is intended through symbolism.

We really have such a small view of who we really are in Christ - Lord, open our eyes!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
