Is there a Permissive will of Go

I know there is a perfect will of God and Jesus walked in it, even though he suffered & was tempted as we are.

If you look @ the history of the OT, we can surely see there must have been a permissive will !

 Sarah & Abraham told a half truth in Genesis to prevent Abraham's murder. A great nation and our salvation came through his loins.

Lot's daughters committed incest with their father, yet God made 2  great nations from this.

David, a man after God's own heart, well loved by the Lord, yet he committed adultery and had her true husband killed. He is Israel's most renowned king, to this day !

I do not think it is favourable to walk in this mind-set for the consequences of sin must be paid & the continuance of is death.

I know that Jesus paid the ultimate punishment for OUR SINS in perfection. He took our consequences & they were nailed to his cross.

We are to seek God's will and strive to hold fast to our profession of faith.

Every day we are tempted, tried & pulled by our flesh to act against the truth; sometimes we FAIL!

If God allows us a period of Grace to repent, is this not God's permissive will?

I don't know how anyone can read the Bible and not see the conflict of wills between God and those who oppose Him.

I've just today composed the first stanza of a longer poetic devotional I'm working on.

Here goes:

SOWN AND GROWN

The Word of Truth is scattered far and wide,

Like seeds designed to grow and thrive.

It falls in part upon the hardened hearts of passers-by,

Who traffic in doubt and disbelief,

The easy marks of an evil thief,

‘Pon whom distractions of this world do prey,

Like devil-birds cursed to snatch away,

The untethered Word of Truth to devour,

The unenlightened traveler to destroy.

Without God's "permissive" will we would have no free will.

God allows us to sin.

I see what you are saying. Yet there are others that would & have strongly disagreed with this premise.

It is not " off with their heads" as some like to think.

Grace is unmerited favour, for he is tender & merciful and wants none to perish.

Sin that lies unconfessed & unrepentant after conviction by the Spirit,  will fester and make a heart grow cold. This causes one to leave their first love of God.

Just as our beloved parents allowed us leeway of growth, so too does our heavenly Father.

By this permissive act we learn how to get up when / if we fall, make choices that lead us into maturity and press on  into this journey.

As a basic principle of theology all things work together for good for those who love God and are the called ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

What constitutes love of God if not a willingness to fulfill His purpose?

I pray everyday to be found in God's will, allowing his Spirit to fulfill the works of Christ in me !
