Oh my! So, it could be that the stability he really needed and even would value could be your loving touch, though at first your living quarters might not seem so stable and perfect. And he could learn by seeing you make all the effort to prepare a stable place in Florida . . . so he might grow up to appreciate that nice and stable situations don't just pop into existence.

But . . . lest we get into undue guilt-tripping, he also possibly needed to spend that time with his father, for however in time God would use that :)

Who's father? My Dad was his Grandpa......

Oh-h-h . . . I got that wrong. I read that as saying you left him with his dad. Thank you for straightening me out.

Here we can share and discuss poetry we have written in our own devotion and experience with God.

Also, I'm inviting "prose" > I mean a short writing which you have written and this is thoughtful and encouraging.

Maybe include a little history for what you are sharing :)

@kwikphilly > does this seem good?

@com7fy8 I think a lot can be said with very few, carefully chosen words......... :)

@farouk yes . . . a few words can do much good. But hopefully, if someone can do much with few words, then he or she will do this many many times :)

A few well placed raindrops can do more good, than has been done by many humans of history combined. But it is good that rain has not stopped at well placing just a few raindrops!

"A Penny Can"

A penny is an penny

that can add up to many;

every little good work will count.

God's love never stops,

yet always gives rest,

as we climb His holy mount . . .

and see the view

that only those ones

who live this love can see - - -

such love that had

Christ shed His blood,

for us, on Calvary.

And every little drop still counts.

"The Onion and the Junco"

An onion is

    no cure for loneliness >

its wounds bring

     tears and sneers

to those who

    may draw near;

to tears it scolds

   those ones who dare

     to lay its insides bare;

it may not care

     to share its fare,

          it says,

    without a sound . . .

while juncos move

    along in troops

content with what they find,

  of any worth

    upon the earth,

 while pleasing

    children's minds.

The onion, not a wonder,

in stew has more to do,

  than be

      no cure for

           loneliness,

  when warming

      comes anew >

when warming comes

     from Heaven

  is when their

       sweetness comes;

for then they care

   to share their fare,

        above,

    in love's much prayer.

"praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." (in Jude 20-21)

"Gourmet Alley"

Beneath the morning

       sky's blue sea,

in dumpster alley land,

the mighty man of history

is now the garbage man

who shoulders-to

    those big steel bins

to feed His Mighty Mack

who munches down

     a ton of trash,

and says,

    "That's quite a snack!"

Mack snaps

  concrete lightpoles

    like toothpicks,

plays steel bins

    like accordians,

in early morn

   comes roaring in . . .

the world's biggest

     alarm clock for

this bedroom of

     homeless poor,

as rats scatter

   like sparks before

Mack's lights and engine's

   mighty bellows' roar.

And then is when

   all may freely pass

through this

  straight and narrow way >

both rich and poor may

share in God's love gourmet.

"Bless and be Patient"

Bless and be patient,

  loved ones of mine,

intimate sharers

  in mercy divine . . .

helpers to help me

  love one and all,

teaching my spirit

  how love shares all.

Not just a story

  or vain love so-o-o-ong . . .

if we obey love,

  we shall be strong;

learning forgiveness

  we become one;

trust no excuses,

  worship God's Son.

Beauty of spirit,

  mentor my mind

into that caring

  that few do find.

Take me, but still seek

  those things above,

growing in intimate

  adoration.

Heed Christ's proposal

  eternally lo-o-o-ong,

how He'll heed our need

  more than we want;

the proof is worship's

  abundant rest;

it is what nurtures

  our love the best.

If God is able to resurrect

the warmth and new life,

the beauty and the sweet smells

of spring . . .

how much more our Father is committed

to resurrect in us

the kindness of His rest,

and the pleasing fragrance

of His Son Jesus growing in us :)

"Peachy" :)

It takes time to become

   a good old peach.

First there's that cute little buddy

    so-o-o fuzzy . . .

then the green teen,

   not exactly mature.

But even in our middle years

yes we can be oh-so colorful

  in all that peachlight coming down

    all around us;

and yet we're still going to get

  at least a little bit bitter and sour,

     deep-down inside.

Because we need to go through some

  heat of the summer

before we can reach a

     ripe old age;

 but then is when we can

    get sweeter and sweeter

    and more and more juicy;

because we made that

      commitment

  to learn how to love >

"'Take My yoke upon you and

     learn from Me,

  for I am gentle and lowly in heart,

   and you will find

       rest for your souls.'"

Possibly people love money because money has no conscience.

God's word is God's money which works according to God's conscience, I see, considering Isaiah 55:11 >

"'So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.'"

(Isaiah 55:11)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
