I've known many people in my life who could quote every verse in the bible by chapter and number, backwards and forwards and and almost magically open a closed Bible to the exact page the scripture was on and others that seemingly understood everything in the Bible without being able to quote a single verse, or even find a book book somewhere in the bible without flipping all the way through it page by page till they ran across it, if their life depended on it.

Two types of knowledge, which is the greater?  And why?

(Not a simple thing to answer, much consideration needed)

Einstein believed in recording knowledge rather than memorising it. Newton published 8 major works himself and 4 more were published posthumously.

Understanding everything these two wrote has been challenging for the rest of mankind.

If you just want to do well in quizzes you only need knowledge. If want to make beneficial progress, understanding is advisable.

The faithful followers of Christ do not lean on their own understanding but trust in the Lord with all their heart. Proverbs 3:5.

Seems a wrong thing to be sorting by importance.  I think one will benefit greatly by one serving the other. Reasoning out application should not be separate from the foundation of the word being used to justify the reasoning, while a solid foundation without  purpose lays useless.

"Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest. And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’  But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.  For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves."

Is it not best that each serve the other, and is not the same true of knowledge and understanding?

My own understanding comes first from neither, knowledge nor understanding, but instead by the Holy Spirit who brings to my mind passages of the Bible along with application for me to reason through and utilize.

So the  effect is that I must live out an exposition of the word, with reading, thinking,  praying, then putting myself into action based upon trust in the word and the Holy Spirit's guidance to the application of the word.

Thanks, A little lengthy  in this day  of emolies, tiktok, and  texting mindsets. But I was moved upon reading it  to update from Isiah 66 also a bit of a wordy  complimentary close.

I have found myself thinking this morning ( A dangerous habit) about such things. Why some think their church is shrinking, what to do about sharing the word, people seeking followers and the bragging I have 20,000 followers on tik tok or I have  200,000 on my blog following me. etc. My immediate conclusion for my own considering is that  this makes  for many a cult  following. Literally  cults, all distractions from the word of God.

Does one then change to sharing of God through emolies and 240 character maximum messages?

I further have been reminded of how I  felt I had to change sales presentations from 20 minutes of set ups with trial closes  and all that I was once taught, by bringing it all down to a total of 7 minutes through a series of looped visuals with designed questions with designed answers built in that led a prospective buyer right to that decision moment to buy. All  in seven minutes because that was the limit of a person's attention at that time, seven minutes. Sales went way up and the dollars per sale up right with it.

Now we are down to a few seconds at most at any one time, and the sale has to be made or lost in those few moments.

Pretty much down to - lost your way, Jesus is the way, Jesus saves.  Trust in Jesus. Or as one group is doing "Jesus gets us".

So why a lengthy signature message? All I can say is, I felt the need to post it for the message itself is evidently needed. Perhaps someone seeing it enough times will read it. I don't know, but went ahead with it.  It has meaning for me, maybe I am the one that needs to be reading it again and again eh?

Thanks for picking up on it.

Knowledge is good, but understanding that knowledge is far, far better.

Who would you go to see, someone who could quote chapter and verse of medical books or someone who understands how to use that knowledge?

It is the same with the bible, theology and Christianity. I have a nephew who study theology, he is not a Christian, it was part of his art degree for understanding religous paintings.

That knowledge has not brought hm to know Jesus as his Lord and the same can be said for many peoople who know the bible etc, they know but don't understand it.

With automation, the dumbing down of humanity (attention spans etc.), the globalization of everything... the stage for the false messiah is nearly set.

I suppose.

Yet there have been many little antichrists all along if I follow what  was recorded within 1 John, and it all has to come to pass before the already existing victory over the final enemy  is shown and known to all.

In the meantime my own soul may be required of me at any moment at all. And that is a good thing since the Holy Spirit turned me about from running way from God to being shown Yeshua is God  my Lord and my savior from my own sins against God

"Victory In Jesus"* is the hope certain that makes it all countable as joy.

Of that I rejoice and praise HaShem!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
