1 John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

Suzanne - Thank you!

I have pondered on that very same scripture(s), before.  Wondering...? But, as I looked around me and began to see that "anyone" can say Jesus.  Christian people (religious) could say Jesus flipantly almost seeming as if there was no reverence or power behind it.  Someone out of anger could curse using the name Jesus Christ.  And you can find someone in the bar, drinking their drink, in a conversation randomly saying Jesus Christ, while trying to get their point across to the other person listening to their ramble.  But, not once have I seen someone stub their pinky toe on the leg of their bed and cry out in pain saying, ahhh, YahShua!  Point is that "anyone " can say Jesus Christ - which is what I began to wonder how that name could be a Name above all names.  It seemed to me that The King!, Majesty! The One True Everything!, would be called what no one is called.  Set apart in reverence and power.  Is He not worthy of a name that cannot be used in drunkedness, anger, flipant fleshly religion? He is so worthy that I can't even put in to words...

You know how when God tells you something, it sticks?  You couldn't change even if you wanted to and if you would try...well, you just can't.  I know that I can't force people to call Him YahShua, and I can't make them understand. I don't call Him YahShua because someone, here on earth, said I should.  HE told me His name and I can't change that.  It stuck.

More than that I found that it's not just about a 'Name".  It's the Messiah.  I looked around me and people in the "church" weren't free.  They would say things like, "Oh, well, I've got this problem, but you know, Jesus will help me through."  Yes, my help comes from Him - it says so in the Psalms.  But, all I could see was people proclaiming this Jesus that died to set them free and they were still bound and out to "get theirs"!  So, proclaiming Jesus wasn't doing them any good.  And giving Him a bad rap! Like, come to church, Jesus will set you free, then come to my house for dinner (one time) and I will tell you all about me and my problems.  And don't tell me that my problems are because of my own sin nature, because praise Jesus, I've been set free.  So, overall it just became where the question was/is - of Whom are you speaking about?

Hence, YahShua and Jesus are not one and the same.

I'm not trying to debate, I'm only sharing my experience.  I'm not closed for discussion.  It's hard to tell sometimes (being on the computer) without being able to see someone face to face and see their expressions, or hear their tone of voice...

Thank you!

And their lack of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word.....somehow changes Him?  No, He's still the same Rachelann, you just, for some reason, decided to turn from what you heard and believed in the beginning.  Be careful, you may be following the teachings of a man, rather than the Word of God, because it seems as though there's someone else on this board who teaches the very thing that you have learned, and as the Scriptures say, you must keep that which you heard from the beginning.  Unless of course, you do not follow the Word of God any longer?

In His Love,

Suzanne

No.  Their lack there of  does not change Him.  He is the same yesturday, today and forevermore.

You said, "...you may be following the teachings of a man...", "there's someone else on the board who teaches the very same thing you have learned..."

Ironic!  In sharing my own personal experience I said, "I don't call Him YahShua because someone, here on earth, said I should."  In fact, I was by myself the day HE told me His name.  I wasn't in church or anywhere else of influence.

So, he (lee) may teach it, but I didn't learn it from him.

I knew that I didn't want to be struggling to hang on and make it in to heaven by a thread - There either had to be absolute change in every aspect or there was no point.  Because I was dead, and now am alive, I was blind, and now can see.  I knew looking around that the truth was, I didn't want to be like the "christian" people around me who were proclaiming Jesus, and yet still self centered, bound, unwilling, defensive, pew warmers,...the list goes on.  I wanted and want absolute freedom.  HE paid the price for that.  And I will only be free if I am in Him.  I cry out from the bowels of my being! All the way!  I want to go all the way!  And when push comes to shove and  others don't want that, it's a very disheartening thing.  Also make you say, "Huh?"  I thought we were all about following the Messiah.

Suzanne, my strongest desire and truly a must is, I must hear "Well done My good and faithful servant".  I have to hear that and know that well was done.  There is nothing else to do hear but serve the One Who created us.

Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?

Who has gathered the wind in His fists?

Who has bound the waters in a garment?

Who has established all the ends of the earth?

What is His name, and what is His Son's name,

If you know?

Proverbs 30:4

Thank you Suzanne for taking the time to listen and respond!  I appreciate it.

Christ actually is called by many names in the bible. It's the fact that He's the Messiah that's important no matter which of His names or titles you go by. Sounds like dogma to me. :P

Levi:

Greetings to you once again!

You have said, "Christ actually is called by many names in the bible."

Here noting an underlying distinction between religions' many Christs of many bibles and the single Messiah of Holy Scripture:

Your statement is "religiously correct" and in keeping with religious dogma, but it is not literally accurate.

check out amightwind.com it has references to why YAHWEH is the name of our FATHER in heaven and YAHSHUA is our savior's name.

I too have always wondered why YAHWEH would allow others to be called "GOD".. now I know. I have never seen anyone use the name YAHWEH in vain or YAHSHUA. These are sacred names.

Wtahfarr4:

Greetings!

It looks to me like you have already caught this, but just in case (or for anyone else):

IAUE ("Yah-oo'-ay", not "Ya-who'?-way") allows "other-gods" to be called "God" because that mere, meaningless, non-name word "Gott-Gatt-God-Gawd" precisely fits their "gods which are no gods" (Jeremiah 16:19-21) status.

"Which think to cause my people to forget My Name... as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal. {"the LORD"} (Yeremyah [Jeremiah ] 23:27)."

"There is NO OTHER NAME under heaven GIVEN among men whereby you must be redeemed" (Acts 4:12). The Name YAHshua means YAHWEH IS REDEEMER.

Now, I know that the name Jesus is what is indicated in the A.K.J.V. and many other TRANSLATIONS, but I do not believe that this was the "NAME GIVEN" (INSPIRED). In the same like manner (deception) that Yahweh's Set Apart Appointed Times were changed for pagan holidays, the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator and the Name of His Son were also changed for pagan names and titles.

We must remember that we do not have the original writtings penned by the apostles and the prophets of old. We have only copies OF COPIES made by copyist (scribes) and TRANSLATIONS of these copies. We do not even have the first copies made of the originals. Note also that these translations have gone through revisions. I do not believe that the copistist (scribes), revisors, and translators, were inspired as the apostles and the prophets of old were. I believe that the copyists (scribes), translators, and revisors have added on to and taken away from the original inspired writtings (Revelation 22:18,19). Note that the greater part of the so called, "New Testament" was authored by Shaul (Paul) and that Kepha (Peter) gave a warning of how Shauls writtings would be twisted (wrest - A.K.J.V.) by those who were unlearned and unstable. Kepha also warned that in this same manner they would also twist (wrest) the other Scriptures (2 Kepha [Peter] 3:15-17-).

I have noted through my study of the so called, "Old Testament" that the copyist (scribes - cf. Yeremyah [Jeremiah] 8:8,9 & 16:19 - R.S.V.) and in turn the translators and revisors following thier tradition, removed the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator and replaced His Name with inferior names/titles such as elohim, adonai, lord, and god. In this same manner (deception) they also did this with the Name of His Son.

To begin a study on the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator's Son, you must first come to know the Name of His Father. His Son stated in communication (prayer) with His Father, which was in heaven at that time, that He had made His Name known unto the men that He gave Him from the earth (Yahchanan [John] 17:6).

YAHWEH

:) With Respect and Shalom:

“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
