Seems to me that when tattoos are considered by Christians who are a bit older, there is even some regret that they didn't have it done years ago.

So does this ring true to you with regard to your tattooed Christian friends?

FYI:

I think when I was a young Christian, a scripture or Christian art Tattoo would have helped me stake a claim as a Christian and made people aware early on. It would have helped sort out friends from the start. So I regret not having that as an option during that time. .. If I found myself in a similar situation to when I was young, I'd probably have a tattoo.

I am not one of those Christians who have a problem with tattoos.. and if I was younger... I might even get a little one that says... IT IS FINISHED.

Idk but I can tell you that I'm 37 with no tattoos and I'm thinking of getting one. Psalm 144:1 in Hebrew LOL!

@jesusandliberty So it would be your first, then, and a Scripture quote.... (You know of course that an estimate from a tattoo artist is very easy to obtain? without obligation.)

Seems anyway - at least, anecdotally - that in the Bible Belt it's often the Christian ladies of about your generation that have actually found the confidence to have it done sooner than the menfolk.

Around here (Bible Belt), it is common, especially among evangelical Christians, for the girls under about 40 to have religious tattoos. More do than don't, especially when you get to the under 30 crowd. I hardly know any female at church that is under 30 that does not have a tattoo.

It's always been a man thing, but it seems also that for a long time among Christians it has been even widespread to view it as a rather womanly thing to aspire confidently to have done.

@Littlelambseativy As far as I recall, the poll as set up at the beginning was for one vote per poster. Sometimes at the beginning there is the option of posters recording multiple votes. I guess also the point that can be made is that the poll is not scientific but for interest. The emphasis is on participation rather than exact science.

All the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have spoken seem to have received them as witness tools.

Seems like so many Christian young men and women from around the age of 18 regard patiently feeling a little discomfort at the tattoo parlor, while the inking machine does its perforating, as a price well worth paying if indeed it brings about faith related conversations with ppl subsequently.
