Believing=[G4100], pisteuo is used 100 times in the Gospel of John.

Faith=[G4102], pistis is not used in the Gospel of John.

This is not to say that the Lord did not speak of faith, but John makes clear what Peter declares:

2 Peter 1:

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,

through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,

having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

By faith, we add to what we have received, from grace to grace.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge...

Believing is receiving, faith is acting on that belief, and utilizing what we receive to manifest the Lord's glory,

and honor from the Father.

Matthew 21:21 So Jesus answered and said to them, Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, it will be done. 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

The opinions of men establish an obstacle to believing.

John 5:44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not

seek the honor that comes from the only God?

His Gospel purpose.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God;

and that believing ye might have life through his name.

He thought it not robbery to be equal with God...

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

To Receive=lambano [G2983] used 45X in John, 57X in Matthew.

John 1:

12  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

John 3

:11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen,

and you do not receive Our witness.

John the baptist teaching

:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

31-36 He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

What we receive, we deliver to the Body for edification.

1 Corinthians 11:23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you:

John 3:17-21 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But He spoke this concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken,

let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

Well your talking about Greek and its true John does not use the verb faith yet many tend to believe it means the same.

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.

And, we can't forget 1 Tim 1:16 - But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Faith

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

The Gospel of John details everything that is received,

simply by believing and receiving the Word into your heart.

Faith is to speak, ask, seek; without doubting, and receiving

what we ask for, finding what we seek. Both are found here.

Hebrews 11: 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him,

for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that

He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

This is to abide, endure, and overcome.

John 15:

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,

you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit;

so you will be My disciples.

LIVING FAITH DEMANDS OBEDIENCE

Romans 1:5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship

for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
