Movie Review- Barbie

Well, has anyone heard the "I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world" song? It's actually a accurate description of our society these days.

My youngest enjoys the cartoon barbie series, and I've had to watch a lot of them. As annoying as I find them, I see nothing wrong with them, most of them, while stupid and shallow seem to be clean entertainment for kids. 

I've heard there's a lot of adult themes in the movie...which my 5 year old wants to watch but I won't let her. It saddens me how they can take a kids show about a kids toy, and ruin it in this manner.

While I have NOT seen the movie I did see on the local newscast a funny bit where Barbie stepped out of her very high heeled slippers and stood on the balls of her feet as though her ankles and toes do not bend.

The local reporter  doing the report said his little daughter liked it, he found nothing terribly wrong with it  except that it is very heavy handed in it's messaging. He used the analogy of loving his pastor and his presentations, but not needing an hour long harangue from him.

Lol it is strange how so many have treated the movie as feminist indoctrination tool. Barbie has always been geared towards girls, and so it is feminine at the core. 
 

That said I haven’t seen the film, and radical feminist ideology has taken over other franchises.

The OP is about a movie of a popular doll, for little girls that came out from the late fifties, right?
And we are having a review about this movie of this doll come alive, right?
Are there actually adult men/women believers interested in what this movie's about?

I wonder if Barbie’s success has something to do with it’s not like most films these days: macabre, realism, and gritty. Movies use to be about escapism, now they are a mirror of our times and depressing. Barbie in contrast looks like a movie from the 70’s in all it is Techno color glory.
