The Hebrew were commanded to kill all inhabitants of Jericho even children.

Why God didn't destroy Jericho with fire like Sodom and Gomorra,  but instead borrowing men's hand to cleanse those wicked people He created ?

In God's economy  of action he only uses miracles when there is either a reason for a miracle or no other physical or human bases for action.

So God used the Israeli test to execute  his judgement on Jericho, just as various nations were used to punish Isreal.

I'm on a break, but I am going to answer this question.

Note that God has not destroyed any other city by fire after Sodom and Gomorrah, either.   Those towns were the only time.

Why?

Jude 1:7 says that the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire is an example to the rest of humanity of the punishment of hell.

There have been far WORSE towns, nations, and civilizations than Sodom and Gomorrah.  The Bible says so.  And today - our modern nations, including my own, are worse.  Sodom and Gomorrah's sin had come to fruition.  Ergo, God's judgment.  God's fire and brimstone.

Whenever we read of Sodom and Gomorrah [and the small surrounding cities that were destroyed], we MUST think about hell.  EVERY preacher who preaches on this topic MUST preach on hell.

Jesus' half-brother, Jude, in his short book of the Bible says that this is what the story is about: The destruction of a group of cities that should point the mind to the concept and reality of hell.

Hell is real.

Thanks for your opinion.

Imho its because the Jericho people made so bloody hostility with the Hebrew, they didnt give the chance for the Hebrew to pass and continue and wanted the Hebrew die. And as that bloody arrogancy that they choose then they must be destroyed personally by the Hebrew's hand. God is wise, this is about nation against nation. Unlike Sodom and Gomorra. And you don't raise children of your enemies as they will betray and take revenge.

I can only assume that God wanted the land and infrastructure used again.  Sodom and Gomorrah was used as an example.   You only need one example.

Just speculation here, but maybe it's because Jericho was the start of a massive military campaign and Sodom and Gomorrah were not.
