Yeah, I got born again almost 40 years ago and learned early on that drinking the booze and any for of intoxication is evil and sinful.

Are you saying your opening statement was just a lie?

If so, don't you find that to be along the lines of when the Pharisees took counsel how they might entangle Jesus in his talk?

I go to a non denomination church that has teachings similar to some of the popular tv preachers out there such as Joel Osteen.

The question I have is why is it wrong for Christians to drink alcohol at home and get what some would classify as getting drunk?  I've done this on weekends after working hard all week for years.  Someone recently told me this was a sin?

Most of the preachers I have heard say that our future sins are already forgiven and once we get saved we have eternal life and nobody and take us away from the Lord.

What's the deal with this anyway?  I'm not hurting anybody and I don't drive while drinking or operate heavy machinery or anything dangerous to hurt me or my wife or kids.  I don't get falling down drunk, just buzzed real good.  I know others in my church that say they do the same and have no problem with it.

Should I be worried about this?  Or is it true that all future sins are already forgiven and it's no big deal?

The bible doesn't condemn alcohol. It condemns getting drunk. Jesus himself make alcohol for a wedding and drank with his disciples the night before his crucifixion. Sadly many churches and pastors attempt to impose legalism on people by going further with restrictions than the bible does. Paul said we have freedom in Christ, and yes all future sin is forgiven. Many verses make it clear salvation is a done and settled deal. Sin is still a big deal however as sin will damage our relationship with Jesus,

It was a rhetorical question Einstein.

If all our future sins are already forgiven and washed away, then it doesn't matter if we live in sin or not because we'll all go to Heaven anyway... even if we live like the devil.

They claim if one did that they would a few rewards, such as have a smaller mansion in Heaven than others, maybe have few angers as servants than others, maybe your crown won't have as man y jewels as others... and that's the only "punishment" we would get for living in sin and being a child of disobedience.

I've run across quite a few folks that believe in all this false doctrine that do in fact have sin in their lives!

Some like to watch porn or otherwise lust after the ladies, maybe smoke some weed, lie and cheat when it benefits them, etc, etc.

Funny how they try to hide their sinful behavior!

If all our future sins are already forgiven and washed away, then they just should come out with their sin and be proud about it and claim where sin abounds, grace does much more abound so let's all sin more so we can have more of God's grace!

If anyone wonders why we are seeing so many falling away from the Lord.... it's teachings such as this that is the cause.

You are absolutely right... sin WILL in fact damage our relationship with the Lord!

When one turns away from the Lord and sins, they must forsake their sin and confess their sin to the Lord in order to be right with the Lord once again.

Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

No. This is what Paul warned against, and if you have ever met a true believer like please tell me who they are. NO true believer wants to sin or make excuses for it, yet we DO dometimes slip up. In that case, there is no need to be re saved. We only need to repent.

OK, so you are agreeing that our future sins are not already forgiven right?

If our future sins were really already automatically forgiven, then there's no need to repent, confess our sins to the Lord, or ask for forgiveness.

In fact, some in the greasy grace industry (like Joseph Prince) teach that it's a slap in God's face to ask for forgiveness or to even acknowledge that we have sinned as he claims all future sin is automatically pre-forgiven.

And, there are some people now that are out in the open about living in sin as they have been taught it's not possible to loose one's salvation so they just let their freak flag fly!

As an example... there are people that claim God accepts homosexuality so they are openly claiming to be "gay Christians".... and what is totally hypocritical is when those that believe in OSAS and that our future sins have already been forgiven.... telling these people they are not right with God!

Those claiming to believe in OSAS and that our future sins have already been forgiven.... have no right to tell "gay Christians" that they are not saved because after all... you believe in OSAS and that our future sins have already been forgiven, right???

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
