All this has to happen on day six. Eve can't be formed after the seventh day and the fall of man is after the seventh or is it?

The Sixth very long Day

1:24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, land crawlers, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 1:25 God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

2:5 Now no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth, nor had any plant of the field sprouted; for the LORD God had not yet sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground. 2:6 But springs welled up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.

1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”

2:7 Then the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.

2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, where He placed the man He had formed. 2:9 Out of the ground the LORD God gave growth to every tree that is pleasing to the eye and good for food. And in the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

2:10 Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it branched into four headwaters:

2:11 The name of the first river is Pishon; it winds through the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 2:12 And the gold of that land is pure, and bdellium and onyx are found there.

2:13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it winds through the whole land of Cush.

2:14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it runs along the east side of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

2:15 Then the LORD God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.

2:16 And the LORD God commanded him, “You may eat freely from every tree of the garden, 2:17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”

2:18 The LORD God also said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him a suitable helper.”

2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and He brought them to the man to see what he would name each one. And whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 2:20 The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.

2:21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he slept, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the area with flesh.

2:22 And from the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man, He made a woman and brought her to him.

1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

2:23 And the man said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for out of man she was taken.”

1:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

1:25 And the man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.

1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”

1:29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food. 1:30 And to every beast of the earth and every bird of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth—everything that has the breath of life in it—I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

1:31 And God looked upon all that He had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. 2:2 And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work. 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.

Please name ONE THING in creation that was not created mature.  Trees were bearing fruit on day three, with yet no sun, and despite the fact it takes 5-7 years for a tree to mature enough to bear fruit.  Fish, birds and animals were created mature and told to go forth and multiply.  Adam and Eve were both mature adults.  There was not one thing created in its infancy.  Why, then, would you think the earth would look like it just came out of an Easy Bake oven and needed to season for a few billion years?

According to the very text, there were 6 24 hour days.  So, no, the 6th day was no longer than any other day.

We're talking earth.  Planet. You know, the sphere that circles around the sun.  That thing.  It didn't need to "mature".  However, from the moment God created it, time began for it.

But you've admitted your view is that God created the earth mature, with age.  Apparent age.  No, what is seen is real age.  Or God WOULD be deceptive.

So what?  There was no point.  But the earth didn't need to be created in a "mature" state, like Adam did.

Why do you persist in your baseless assumptions?  No one has any idea if the earth looked any different at creation than it did after God restored it.

Your real problem is your allergy to truth.  The literal Hebrew words in 1:2 clearly indicate the earth became a mess, which is why God restored it.  So man could live on it.

Man cannot thrive in a WASTELAND, or CHAOS, which is how "tohu" is commonly translated elsewhere in the OT.

That is not difficult to understand.

What is difficult to understand is your strange stubbornness with the truth.

Age is man's interpretation.  God made the earth with coal in it.  Man claims that coal forms naturally over millions of years so the earth must be millions of years old, right?  Wrong.  The coal wasn't created the way people claim.  Nor were any other resources buried in the ground which we've discovered by mining or drilling.  They were there from the beginning.  God didn't need to wait billions of years.  He spoke the planet into existence ready to support life.  No lost billions of years.  The earth formed in a day.

Since the earth was never restored, your statement is meaningless.  What is difficult to understand is your strange stubbornness with the truth.

Then we'll have to agree to disagree.  Anyway, Genesis 1 is obviously about a restoration, minus v.1, based on the OT wide use of "tohu" elsewhere.

I don't speculate.  I simply accept what Moses wrote;  but the earth became an uninhabitable wasteland.  I have no idea what happened.  Obviously, it didn't relate to man so He left it out.

Of a restoration.

No need.

Yes, we'll have to agree to disagree.   But you haven't been disagreeable about it.    I'll leave the discussion to you now.  I don't seem to have a very calming effect on some people here, and maybe I need to walk away again for a while.

Actually, not.  Since Adam, everyone's age is literal, all the way from the cradle to the grave.  So please don't keep kidding yourself.

Could you point me to the verse, please?

I don't know how old the earth is.  And I don't care what man claims.  I only care about what the Bible says.  As you should know by now.

I don't care.

Were you?

Who said God had to wait anyway?  You are full of red herrings.  Try another diet.

You don't know what the planet was ready for when created.  You are assuming everything.

I never said anything about lost years.  Why do you insist on trying to feed me your diet of red herrings?

What I disagree on is the idea that Adam came from 'other vertebrates', since there is no evidence for that in the Bible.  What is in the Bible is that God created Adam from the "dust of the ground" and then breathed into his nose neshemah.  And man became a living soul.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
