This is cute.   Finnegan fox and his toys.

He usually is outside in the large yards the foxes have at the rescue center.

Ha, looks more like this is a people rescue center run by a fox.  Cute? Yes very cute, but I sure would not want any "pet" that gets territorial and is willing to bite at me.

People are interesting creatures though.

No idea why he got a little territorial inside the house.

Finnegan is usually outside in the large yards and he is fine with the gal.   Her favorite fox.   He has toys, etc, outside as well.

Normal behaviour for rescues until they learn they wont lose a prized possession but it does take work to help them to understand they are safe

Perhaps there is good reason why only 15 USA states allow the keeping of a fox as a pet. Odd what humans do and tolerate. Seeing videos of London  streets being overrun with foxes,  as example, makes me think people are a just a tad nutty.

Looks like the making of a future epidemic of illnesses to me; but cute.

What does a rescue center feed wild fox? Live rabbit?

But what about fox rescue centers?   Did you check to see if they are allowed in more States?

The rescue centers are only helping the foxes that were found in desperate situations....owners no longer wanting them, fur farms.

If people used their common sense, many of the world's problems would be reduced.

Hi Depb,

There are rescue operations of many kinds of course. And all sorts of well meaning people with tender hearts.

BUT is rescue really part of  the way  of life as intended? Or do individual creatures and whole species come to an end as part of the way things are intended to go in this world?

Do we not become little gods, that have taken over and away from God, when humans  capture critters and put them into critter farms and pens and swim tanks rather than letting what is to me more natural take it's due course? ???

Now take in mind though it is now heavily populated where I am  that I do still live among the rattle snakes, the copperheads, the coral snakes, as well as the common king snake and black racer that all do eat each other. Plus I do have to consider whether to let my rat terrier run  the yard or whether the  red hawk may be circling above or a coyote may  be lurking about. And yes still a few gators in the neighborhood.

So I may have a different way of thinking about capturing ( rescue)  of the weaker or lame of the critters that are wild among us. "Rescuing" the wild ones whether cute or not seems to me an errant way  of going about. Survival of the fittest has it's place, as it culls out frailty and disease.
