You can see the result to this day, so maybe those rules are a good thing to follow and a bad thing to ignore. So is this what the Christian life is about? This sounds like a pretty unenthusiastic view of the Christian walk. Not exactly sure where he is coming from in saying this? Is he coming from a strict religious system or making an observation in a more general sense? I would hope the things we are supposed to be doing we enjoy doing, and the things we don't enjoy doing the Lord leads us along to see the wisdom in those things, while some of the things we enjoy doing are of the flesh and will lead to destruction, like eating too much ice cream 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So is this what the Christian life is about? I once saw a video from a funny preacher. I can post it elsewhere maybe. He said: I was not comfortable with love. He had to have the best church, most souls, best this best that. And not get up at 6 to pray an hour. No get up at 5 and pray 2 hours. And to illustrate it he asked a guy to come to the front and with every thing he had to do he gave him a huge plant that was standing there. So in the end you couldnt see his face. He carried loads of plants and almost fell over. And then he helped him and put em away and said: Who has felt like this guy? He said: What they taught me in Bible school wasn't bad, like pray and read the Bible, but they didn't think about the filter system. Do this do that or else God hates you.
