If you consider yourself a saved person do you still lie without repenting ( turning away from doing it) about it?

If you consider yourself a saved person do you still lie without repenting ( turning away from doing it)  about it?

The bible is clear that all those partaking in lying as well as other sins, will go into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

When you lie, you are not truthful.

Lying destroys trust, and distances us from a sincere relationship with God and also others.

Some people like to justify lying in certain ciscumstances, but what circumstances does God say its ok to lie?

When I detect someone is lying ( yes people can tell at times, when a person is lying) or someone says they lied to get their way, I am left feeling very sad, especially when I know this person says they are saved and born again in Christ Jesus for many, many years.

Galatians ch 5 v 16-21

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

What I noticed for me is that sin of any kind needs to be confessed to God, for as long as the sin continues to be a bad habit  not yet completely removed from our daily behaviours.

God is Just to forgive our sins when we admit to them to Him and ask Him to forgive us and help us overcome that particular sin. ( 1 John ch1)

When sin goes unconfessed to God, it can take a foot hold in us and by doing so, it distances us from having a close relationship with God on a daily basis.

God Word mentions to take the Lords super in remembrance of Him.

By doing so we also are brought to examine ourselves before we partake of the Lords super to make sure we are cleansed from our iniquities.

You can take the Lords super from your own home, with a few onces of grape juice and a little piece of bread ir cracker (flat bread)

I find that confessing my daily sins  and reading the Lords super, examining myself, helps me to remain close to God and helps to keep my daily life in check with Him.

Here is the Lords super found in 1 Corinthians ch11 23- 34

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

2But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

3For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Context.. sin does not send anyone to (forgive me Father) hell. Its do you know Yeshua/Jesus Christ as lord. Clueless as to why your stuck on lying. And you detect someone is lying? Speculation is not fact. You know or you don't. Sorry to break it to you but we all have sin for you are just like the rest of us. There is none righteous not one. Since no one sins against me and I am not lord over them, not their God and its not written they should answer to my personal belief ..or yours. Thanks for sharing though

GOODNESS, I PLACED A QUESTION OUT ABOUT LYiNG AND I AM GETTING PERSONAL ATTACKS

Hey,if you think lying is ok, that is your business.

I am no different than the next person, in that we are all sinners redeemed by His Grace.

I was asking this question, because it seems people claiming to be Christian don't seem to bat an eye about certain sins like lying and justify doing so, when the bible is clear that it is a sin.

You may choose to attack me, but my question put out there is DO YOU as a Christian EXAMINE your own self? on a daily basis?

and if so do you think is ok to lie?

@TheBlade;

The bible does mention the consequences of sin and unrepentant sin.

That is why  it is written make your sure salvation a sure thing

2Peter ch1: 10-11

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I wrote :

When you lie, you are not truthful.

Lying destroys trust, and distances us from a sincere relationship with God and also others.

When a person tells you they lied and it does not bother them =their conscience- it no longer is speculation.

Also sometimes you do know or can detect, the person is lying but the person thinks they are fooling you, and you say nothing... because you don't want to cause a rift of sorts. Sometimes we lie to our own selves , others see it but say nothing, just they form there opinion of you.

Becoming truthful to our own selves is a redemption process, that happens when we consciously decide to have a daily relationship with God.

When you know Christ Jesus as Lord, then you make a decision to follow Him and obey His commandments?

right? and when you feel convicted of your sin you go and ask for His forgiveness right?

We battle everyday to some degree or another with our flesh.

God through His Word has given us tools to become conquerors over our flesh through His Word and Holy Spirit working in us.

I mentioned a few tools that can help, like taking the Lords supper and examining ourselves.

I was hoping to get others to share on the topic of Lying

When we stop confessing our sins, we distance ourselves from God and His Word and we can develop a stronghold to our sins.  God came to set us FREE from sin and its strongholds, but we also have to co-operate by dialoguing truthfully with Him about everything including our shortcomings.

God knows our sins, He does not speculate, He knows us complete. He just waits for us to join with Him in conquering them and becoming more and more transformed into the child of God He always intended for us to be.

I was trying to bring awareness of being truthful to ourselves and others about the consequences of Lying.

Can't say  that I would lie before I was called by the Holy Spirit to turn about to God.

People can be pretty straight forward, and sincere, without being Christian. Christians do  not have the market cornered on honesty, nor on being straight forward in conversation  and declarations.

In De Doctrina Christiana 1 Augustine says, “No one who lies keeps faith in lying; for he wants the individual to whom he is lying to have faith in him, and yet he does not keep faith with him when he lies.

Really?

Then how do you practice what you preach?

."A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”- Yeshua

LOVE GOD - LOVE ONE ANOTHER

If we are to love one another as God Loves us.

Than God who is TRUTH does not Lie.

So than how can we practice loving one another when we lie?

It is easy not to lie, just be true. That can be done as well as an atheist as it can be  as a Christian, maybe even easier.

Does that mean you never sin?

When we sin any sin, don't we lie first to ourselves (deceiving) convincing o0urseoves to just sin anyway ( because we can't help it) instead of going to God first and saying to
Him and asking Him to help us ovewrc0me this particular sin, since His Word says:

1 Corinthians 10:13, which says, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear."

As Christians walking by faith, God has given us tools to overcame sin=lying  and lying to ourselves.

One of them is examining ourselves daily to see if we are walking in Faith with Christ Jesus.

And when we do sin, despite our good intentions, (fall short of Gods Glory, we confess our sin and ask G0d to help us overcome the sin).

Really?

So then why do we need to be a christian?  if by what you say, we can overcome the sin of Lying, lying to ourselves without Gods help just like any unbeliver can.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
