I have heard some people trying to use psalm 83 as an end time prophesy. Reading the chapter, I do not see this applying.

Anyone think otherwise that can offer a good case?

Psalms 63 is happening before our eyes today. Those named people groups are gathered to do what they have all vowed to do: wipe Israel off the map. All the Ishmaelite Muslim peoples, motivated by their god; Satan, will attempt to destroy Israel, by a concerted conventional attack and with Nuke missiles. Jeremiah 49:35-37 proves it and tells what God will do to them.

Psalms 83:1-2 Do not keep silent, O God; be neither quiet nor still, for your enemies raise an uproar and those who are hostile to You carry their heads high.

Psalms 83:3-5 They devise a cunning plot against Your people and conspire against those whom You treasure. “Let us wipe them out as a nation” they say, let the name of Israel be remembered no more.

Psalms 83:6-8 With one mind, they have conspired to form a league against you; the families of Edom, the Ishmaelites, Moabites and Hagars peoples, Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia and Tyre. Asshur, too is their ally, lending aid to the descendants of Lot.

Psalms 83:9-12 Deal with them as You did with Sisera, as with Jabin by the wadi of Kishon, who were vanquished and fell as Midian fell and became manure on the ground. Make their princes like Oreb and Zeeb, their Kings like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said; We will seize for ourselves the territory of Gods people.

Psalms 83:13-15 Scatter them, my God, like thistledown, like chaff blown before the wind As a fire raging through the forest, with flames which blaze across the hills, so pursue them with Your tempest, terrify them with Your storm winds.

Psalms 83:16-17 Heap shame upon their heads, until, Lord, they seek Your name. Let them be humiliated and live in constant terror; let them suffer disgrace and perish.

Psalms 83:18 So let it be known that, You, whose name is the Lord, are alone Most High over all the earth.   Ref: REB verses abridged.

V1/ Almighty God, we ask for Your intervention. Help us, please, we pray.

V2/ Your enemies are proud and confident in their strength. They threaten the Holy Land from all sides.

V3/ They are plotting our downfall and conspiring against Your people.  Isaiah 21:6-7

V4/ They say; “we can get rid of them all, never to be restored as a nation.”

V5/ The leaders of the enemy nations combine to attack Israel. [Micah 4:11-12]

V6-7/ They are- the Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and the Palestinians.

V8/ Asshur- may be the Turkish peoples. The descendants of Lot - Genesis 19:37-38

V9/ Lord, we ask that You deal with them as You have done in ancient times.

V10/ You destroyed those nations who attacked Your people at that time. Judges 8:3-10

V11-12/ Then, the leaders of the enemies of Israel, said; “we will take over their Land”.

V13-15/ God of Israel – once again scatter the enemies of Your people; with fire and raging storms.  Revelation 6:12-17 Hebrews 10:27, Malachi 4:1, Psalm 50:3

V16/ Make them ashamed of their conduct and then at last, they will acknowledge You.        Obadiah 10

V17/ Your enemies will suffer disgrace and humiliation. All peoples will know that You alone are the Most High Lord over all the earth.

I assume you meant psalm 83, not 63. Of course there are things in there that sort of sound like they could apply to today. Looking at a commentary, I see this, though

"

The title, A Song or Psalm of Asaph, contains nothing particular. Among a multitude of conjectures relative to the time and occasion of this Psalm, that which refers it to the confederacy against Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, mentioned 2 Chronicles 20:1-30, is the most likely. The following reasons make it probable:

1. The children of Ammon, that is, the Ammonites and Moabites, were the principal movers in the war.

2. The Idumeans came to their assistance, 2 Chronicles 20:22; with certain Ammonites or Meonians, referred to here in Psalms 83:8, and in 2 Chronicles 20:1.

3. There were also in this confederacy many strangers of Syria, and from beyond the sea, most likely the Dead Sea, which seems to indicate the Assyrians, Hagaranes, and Ishmaelites, designed expressly here, Psalms 83:7-8.

4. In that transaction there was a prophet of the race of Asaph, named Jahaziel, who foretold to Jehoshaphat their total overthrow, 2 Chronicles 20:14, &c., and probably this Jahaziel is the same with Asaph, the author of this Psalm.

In the course of the notes we shall see other circumstances relative to the war of the Moabites and Ammonites against Jehoshaphat.."

I have no reason to assume otherwise.

The reason to assume what Psalms 83 prophesies is about to be fulfilled, is the fact of Israel being surrounded by peoples who say: Let us wipe Israel out and take over their land.

This has been the situation for 76 years now, but it cannot last forever. Jesus said that when this situation is apparent, then it will be within the lifetime of that generation. A generation, is the average lifetime is 70 years, or 80 for those with sufficient strength. Or luck!

We can expect very dramatic changes in the world, culminating with the Glorious Return of Jesus.

And so there will dramatic changes in the Tribulation also. So they were in history. That alone does not pin it to today.

That is a good point. But that does not sweep Psalm 83 into the end time prophesy dept. You see Jesus also gave a sign for that time that has a number of days and years associated with it. The Abomination of Desolation. THEN they will know. Then also will Jerusalem be surrounded by armies. We know it is the tribulation time being spoken about there.

Matthew 24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall...

Luke 21:20
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Luke 21:21
Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
Luke 21:22

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

So it is certain that the time Jerusalem will be surrounded by armies is also when the desolation will happen and the same time the abomination that causes desolation will be set up. Having armies there at other times in history will happen and did happen. We are not in that time spoken about by Jesus where something happens THEN we know all things will be fulfilled.

Now a lot of people including myself see that the stage is set for that time. It is hard to imagine how it is not very close to that time. You can't say that because Israel exists this must be the time.

Jesus rebuked the Jews for their failure to discern the time of His ministry. Good that you and many others can see the signs, as His Return approaches.

It is my desire to help people to see and understand what must take place before that glorious Day. From Revelation, it is obvious that the Sixth Seal will be the next Prophesied event, the one which will establish a One World Govt and enable the Christian peoples to gather and live in all of the holy Land. John sees them there in Rev 7:9.

God said He would clear and cleanse His Land. Deuteronomy 32:34-43, and the Sixth Seal disaster will do it. 2 Peter 3:7

If I am alive when we actually arrive at the time of the Tribulation, I am going up in the air, not to the smelly mideast. The new believers at that time will not be going there either I would guess, for the most part. The thing about 'Christian' people gathering in the mid east is false prophesy as far as I can tell.

Psalm 83 has passed, the very nations named, from 1948 to 1973 tried in vain time and time again to wipe Israel off the map. After the 73 war Israel gained the Golan Hight's, then in 1979 she made peace with Egypt. We are now waiting on the Gog & Magog war, those nations via the Abraham Accords made peace with Israel, mainly because Iran became a common foe and we had an outside the box thinker as the U.S. President in Donald Trump.

Israel are now at a level of peace that have not known in 2500 years. But, but, but the Oct. Terror attacks, etc. etc.  right? No, the USA has had terror attacks also, see Boston, see 9/11, that does not compute to being in danger and not at peace. For the first time since Babylon conquered Israel, Israel now has no one telling them who they must serve, worship, where they can go et al. They are AT PEACE like never in 2500 plus years. The USA have been in many, many wars, but we have not been under threat of invasion since 1776 or maybe 1812.

Matthew 24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall...

Matt. 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days(Middle of the week events which sees an Asteroid Impact on the Earth which BRINGS Trumps 1-4 read Trump # 4 again, it says THE SUN AND MOON GOES DARK)shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken(Satan and his Demons are cast down to earth.......we still have THREE WOES to go after this !! Nothing is about Jesus returning IMMEDIATELY after this, its about the Sun and Moon going DARK immediately after the Asteroid Impact):

30 And then(1260 days later) shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:(1260 DAYYS LATER) and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

As soon as you guys get to heaven its going to hit you, I was wrong on all things prophecy, because it was never my calling. These are simple things, you can not see them because you bring in your own, or other men's ideas. You get blinded like the Pharisees did on these important things because of men's traditions, and when someone shows you facts, you are like, na, na, na, na I can't see. You can't even see that the verse is about the Sun & Moon going DARK immediately after the tribulation of those days, the Asteroid brings. Its Jesus' returning, even though its really the Sun and Moon going dark.  When you get to heaven it will all be clear, you will then understand ole Rev. Man was actually telling you the truth.

When we all stay on earth, as disaster strikes; Luke 21;35, when we 'Call upon the Nome of the Lord, then He will protect us.

Removal of the Church is never stated and is not an option for anyone.

You guys amaze me. Prophesy not your calling, but you know it all, even though you don't. And ANYONE who can not see the Pre Trib Rapture I will not heed anything they have to say via Eschatology. Period.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
