Indeed. I lived this out some years ago and its still fresh in my mind, like it happened yesterday. I'll never forget the blessing He has done for me and my marriage.

Hi @Christine Swan Isaiah 48.10 is a good verse: "Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction."

Thank you for that verse. 😄

The reward is always at the end. I couldn't see the reward then, but I'm so glad I followed what God had for me. I am so thankful! ♥️

YW, @Christine Swan

Psalm 40.2-3 is a similar passage:

"He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."

I agree with your post. Meanwhile, I also believe that for some people sometimes its difficult to see those life's struggles and circumstances from the lense of that Scripture when we are in the midst of all trials. But I guess thats where Faith & Trust comes to play.

Many times we may not understand  how this is possibly going to work out for our good? Why me? Why not just stop all of this altogether? We try to reason and understand it through our own strength and understanding but it doesn't make sense for us to go through all these especially when we love God. But i learned that during these moments when nothing makes sense to us, the only and perhaps most important thing we can do is just Be Still and at the same time walk in the Obedience to God and His word, even if we never got the answers He will help us overcome and move forward in His path.

Hi @Gracejj This indeed is why the Scriptures are so seaching; so rich:

" For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4.12)

Hi @WordSword Despite tribulations, the Lord is with His people:

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16.33)

Amen, good passage! I believe we learn the most from God through our trials.

As a Christian, do you believe that “All things work together for good to those who love God” (Ro 8:28). This means that no matter what occurs in your life, God is using it for your benefit. The primary issue in a believer’s life is always that which concerns the strengthening of one’s faith! One way or another, even when we do not see it “working,” God causes it to be an advantage “to” us.

If you’re reborn, there’s nothing that you have to allow to “trouble” you (Jn 14:1, 27), because of the Ro 8:28 promise. What we may see as a problem is in reality for your “good.” Thus there is much truth in the phrase, "it’s all good”—if you’re saved. Regardless of what transpires in the life of a believer, it will truly be a benefit in one fashion or another. Even if we think God only keeps this promise when we are good, He still honors what He has said—it’s His Word; and with God, He always sees believers as “good,” because He knows they always want to “please” Him, as He “works” this in them.

The Father uses everything to teach believers His desires for them. All things are lessons and transpire according to how God wants them to construe to us. We must understand that this “promise” is to all who are saved, regardless of one’s level of maturity in Christ. It’s just a matter of time when a believer matures in Him (Eph 4:15), as God is always causing the believer to “will and to do of His good pleasure” (Phl 2:13).

Believers can see everything as blessings, because God ensures they receive benefit from everything in His way—“For all things are for your sakes” (2Co 4:15).

I am not the best speaker writer so try to see through the mistakes please.. "to those who are the called according to His purpose." What was being said before vs 28? Then we need to remember there were no chapters or verses when this was written we added them. We know with out faith we can not please Him. It seems unless I am reading it wrong that some are looking/applying this to everything that happens in our life's in some way or form  and God is working it for out Good? He can yes but is He? Its as if we have no say in this and He is going to do that no matter what we do or say or believe.  What was said before all this.. oh is huge and then to leave out "to those who are called according to His purpose". Now my guess is we all will jump on part of this and say  "to those" means all of us. To those.. who are "those who are called"? Being part of and in ministry .. well most don't answer that call.

Now understand I am not saying this looking at your life since I cannot know it. So many times in my life when some kind of trouble came, if I did nothing but just blindly said "oh God is working this for my good" and that's all I did.. saying that would be a lie. God didn't cause it to happen to me and I can prove that by one or more promises He gave us. Satan not GOD but Satan comes to kill steal and destroy now if I sit back and do nothing the enemy will walk all over me and God did what? Since when does God go against our will?  I can say "faith and money" ooh did God help them? Yeah we tend to put God in and take Him out where we personally want and what we personally believe. Now I have ooh when pain was to much to endure or something else.. when there was no place to go and I stood on something He said and in that suffering and pain or whatever I rejoice.. I praise Him giving Him all the glory and praise I thank Him .. He never did it.. but every promise that He gave where I stand and do not move just stand and know not guess not wonder not hope but know He always keeps those promises Yes those moments work out for my good. When HE said "good" it seems some also look at that as "it might not be what you wanted but its what God wanted". Again as if you have say what so ever as if GOD is going to go against your will and do it anyway? Now to that I will say.. if I gave everything thing to Him .. and I am walking in His will (which is His word).. oh I may stumble but I am walking following Him.. no matter what the enemy tosses at me.. God will by me trusting in Him.. aka faith.. where I cannot see anything in front of me but I just have faith.. yes those moments will always work out for my good.

Lol.. oh well I know great men of God who are gone home now that know not just believe but know where you are and everything that is happening to you.. its where GOD wanted you to be. This is different then what I said yet I do not know everything and God sees everything.. so yeah I can be wrong haha. But what I know is.. when I put my trust in Him no matter what it is.. repented of any sin so forth even looking back when I was to blame but repented .. He will take all of it and use it for good. Oh read over this so many times.... not here to offend

Maybe saying all of that like this.. if I believe "delight your self in the lord and He will give you the desires of your heart" and I just run with that.. yeah its not goona work why? What does the rest say? "Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.".  What does trust mean? Faith.

Hi, and appreciate your sharing this! After all being said, I'm certain that Ro 8:28 does mean God uses everything, one way or another, for the benefit of those who love Him. Loving God is the primary function--and all the rest of what occurs is in God's control. He ensure that we desire to "please Him (Phl 2:13). He uses everything to teach us the forgiveness of our sins and of our growth in His Son's "image (2Co 3:18Rom 8:29; Eph 4:15).

God's blessings to your Family!

Another great verse that's relevant:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8.28)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
