What do you think by what it says there?

Regarding the sheep and goats:

Would a sheep who fed and clothed and gave shelter to one of the Lord's people but also kept a magnum of Jack daniels and a stack of Playboys under his bed still get o Heaven?

Well, wouldn't that make for an interesting discussion.

Hi,

If u trully believe in Christ Jesus, u will surely live Christlike!!!

God does not want lukewarmness. Its all or nothing, ur either 4 him or against him. U cant serve 2 masters. Either ur 4 God all the way living right, or ur of the world serving the evil one.

I am talking more out of experience and the choices i had 2 make.

God bless!!!

Actually this example begs the quesion, What is living a chrisian Life?

If we are preaching the gospel and helping tthe less fortunate, are we not obeying Jesus, even though we may succumb to he evils of the world. It makes for an ineresing paradox.

If this is off topic then I will shut up.

I think it is an excellent question, and a hard one!

Scripture portrays a life long struggle with the flesh always prodding us, and the Spirit opposing the flesh. I think it comes down to honest attempts at daily repentance and turning from sin, and just as importantly turning toward God.

But we are all at different points, we all wrestle with different demons.

Living the Christian life is really quite simple. It doesn't take dissecting and analyzing and debating. Do what the Word says and follow Jesus' example, obeying his commands.

Matthew 16:24-25 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it."

If the Bible/Jesus says to "Go north." It means GO north. It doesn't mean think about north. We are to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. (And I'd like to add debators to the hearers part.)

How much more complicated does it have to be? Jesus set an example for us and gave us instructions and guidelines in how to live. Why debate if it's Christian or not to have a stack of Playboys under your bed or if a person does this thing or that thing? And why seek man's opinion on this? Seriously, we all know how we should live. Playing, "Yeah, but what if..." or "Can a Christian do this thing and still....." is not beneficial.

It's basically doing what Daughter is doing in this very same thread and you don't even see it! At least Daughter is honest enough to say, "Can I do this and have that and live this way and still go to heaven?" Christians will sit and debate, "But what if someone...." or "Can we...."

The results are the same! Someone is searching for a loophole, justification or permission. And if it's not that, they are searching for a debate or to prove they are right or that others are wrong.

We all know how we should live and we all know how we do live. Keith, nobody is going to accuse you of being un-christian because you are plainly a man who waches his Ps and Qs. Do you ever do things at any given point in time that you know are wrong? If not then I commend you because you are the only person I know who is perfect. (Sorry for the sarcasm).

My question about he sheep with playboy books is an honest question. Why seek man's opinionon this? This is a discussion forum designed for exchangeing opinions. Can a sinner perform good works? That is ulimately the question. If not, then I might as well give up because I am full of reoccuring sin. If a sinner can perform good works, then it is not as cu and dry as you would suppose. I know many christians who love the Lord with all of their hearts and accomplish much for the kingdom. Alot of these same people have been known to drink excessively, gossip repeatedly, are gluttons and so on. Are these people desined for Heaven or hell? Would Jesus turn His back on a faithful servant even if they are a drunkard?

Deppression runs rampant in the christian community and alhough we are to focus on Jesus, sometimes life hands out more than a person can bare. I hate my iniquity but sometimes it keeps me from going to worse places.

If one believes (has faith in) Christ then he or she will inevitably let the action of faith shine through.

??? Will I????

Looks like you want to be able to get the "enjoyment" you can get from both sides. Unfortunately, you cannot. You have to commit to either one side or the other. This is a serious matter that will have eternal consequences.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
