Faith in God is having confident assurance that God took on flesh so that He could reconcile the fallen world unto Himself; not imputing the sins of any that believe in Him against themselves, but granting by His grace to those that believe and follow Him as faithful children, godly power of repentance and faith unto salvation and everlasting life in His kingdom.

I think the Amplified Bible translates faith as... to trust in, to rely upon, to cling to.

I wholeheartedly agree, my friend. Well said and amen!

Hebrews 13.20-21:

"Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

When I was thinking about this question I was reminded of this scripture and the answer was very simple to me.

Faith in God must look like this perhaps👇

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understandings,
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Word of God has all the answers we need.

I see so many who claim so much faith.  I'm always drawn back to the 12 Appostles. Even they didn't believe Jesus was the Christ until he rose from the dead. They witnessed so many miracles first hand and STILL didn't believe.  We have to believe something that happened 2,000 years ago from what we read. It's no wonder so many struggle with faith.  I question do I truly believe with all my heart? I understand, I think I believe. For some reason I can't completely reconcile this. I pray daily about this. Is the Holy Spirit what allows people to believe easier than the time before Jesus was Crucified? I know the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit after the Crucifixion. I'm not questioning anyone's faith, I just wonder how many have considered this.

Hi, I can only answer that my faith was absolute that there is no God. Till God answered the prayers of those that had faithfully prayed for me when I was a child. God answered their prayers some two and a half  decades later.

The Holy Spirit used an angel to  bring me about, just before I evidently would have had no other opportunity  to be turned about. It was dramatic. It was almost instant. I have seen evidence of it's reality many times since.

So my confidence in the faith of Christ Jesus comes rather easy to me now. I am not relying on an abstract, not mere words of books of the Bible, but instead in real life real time confirmation  that what it shares is  indeed  the word of God. And more than that it is instruction for life, it is hope certain in an uncertain world. It is joy in all circumstances, even as it rains on the rich  and the poor, the good and evil. It is truth for the mind, body, soul, and spirit.

My salvation from my own plight of being an atheist is found in the faith of Jesus to answer prayer rightly asked of him by those that had love of Him and love for me. Should everyone have such  an experience to turn them about? Gee I hope not, I would not wish that upon anyone, it was a Job like  series of events.

So why  do I now share of it? So that anyone may add it's account to the many messages, signs, and events, of their own life that leads to hearing and hopefully heeding the specific call to each of them by the Holy Spirit. That call to turn about, yes repent of sin against God, sin of denying Him to instead seeing feeling and learning worship of His Son who gave totally of Himself  to honor His Father's will that many might be saved from eternal destruction to instead being eternally with Him ( Jesus),  the Holy Spirit,  and His Father.

God is real, living, and  true to His word. Listen for the Holy Spirit, feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, and then enjoy the confirming word of God, the Bible. Read, pray, think, experience it, and give thanks to His Son Jesus, while loving God ( Father Son and Holy Spirit) and one another.

Maranatha!

That is good :thumbup:It is a genuine true faith in God. Trust in God must be based on the genuine God in the Bible. The God in the Bible is a triune God, so true faith in God must include the Holy Trinity. The Father,Son and Holy Spirit. There is a difference in having a knowledge of God and having a true understanding of the true God.

And yet the Bible, any English version, will not have reference to a "Trinity" will it?- trinity being much like "rapture"; a conclusionary word an extra-biblical word, one used to describe a conclusion reached by  reading, studying, praying, and yes even questioning the Bible, Berean style.

I do think the use of "true" in front of Christian or in front of faith is a redundancy. Some are babes  fo rsure others are real scholars, and the rest well " we " have but opinions. Often strongly held, but opinions none the less.

Praise God, His mercy from everlasting to everlasting.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
