Leviticus 19:26 ‘You shall not eat with the blood,

nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying.

The prohibition against eating with the blood originated with the covenant

with mankind God established with Noah.

Genesis 9:4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

This was extended to the Gentiles for fellowship with the Jews.

Acts 15:

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater

burden than these necessary things:

29 that you abstain from things offered to idols,  from blood,

from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.

If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.

As to the practice of divination and soothsaying, this type of false prophesying was widely practiced

during the time of Manasseh, which led to the destruction of Judah and Jerusalem.

2 Chronicles 33:6 Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom;

he practiced soothsaying,

used witchcraft and sorcery,

and consulted mediums and spiritists.

He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

Not under Law, but under Grace does not allow for these practices at all,

and the only way to avoid them completely is for people to stop being so

carnally obsessed with predicting the future and interpreting prophesy,

using claims of dreams and visions,

and self-approval with flattering and admiration.

Matthew 16:

1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that

He would show them a sign from heaven.

2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say,

‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’;

and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’

Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky,

but you cannot discern the signs of the times.

4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given

to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

Kashering is the process of making utensils, dishes, and other kitchen items kosher according to Jewish dietary laws. This involves removing any traces of non-kosher substances that might have been absorbed. There are several methods of kashering, each suited to different types of items and the way they were used:

  1. Libun: This involves heating items until they are red hot. It’s typically used for items that were directly exposed to fire, like grills and baking pans1.
  2. Hag’alah: This method uses boiling water to kasher items like pots and flatware that have come into contact with hot liquids1.
  3. Irui: This involves pouring boiling water over surfaces, such as countertops and sinks1.

Some materials, like unglazed earthenware, cannot be kashered because they absorb flavors and juices permanently2.

The Covenant made with Noah is valid for "all flesh". It's validity is a long as winter and summer are with us. It is twice confirmed in Acts of the Apostles. I would seriously advise Christians to avoid blood products. You are dealing with a God Who keeps His side of Covenants. After raising Moses for 40 years "in Pharaoh's Courts in all the knowledge and wisdom of the Egyptians", and dealing wit Moses' character for another 40 years in the "back-side of the wilderness", God would think nothing of killing Moses over circumcision.

But we have a very clear indication of God's mind when men start to deal with molecules in a pot in Matthew 23:23–24.

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel

If you slaughter a chicken, or a hog after hunting, hang the carcass and wash your pans carefully with soap. And if you like steak tartar, order it in a restaurant you are sure of. In Central Europe blood products are popular. Avoid them. Beef Jerky is well hung so it should be fine. Don't get into the molecule business and remember that you are not exempt from loving your neighbor even when his dog does his business on your lawn every week.

Totally agree, Mr. M! Kashering really shows how much tradition shapes what we eat and how we live. Avoiding blood products connects back to those old covenants, which is a pretty big deal. It's all about being mindful of our choices, right?

I love how these conversations bring up the balance between following the rules and embracing grace. Would be cool to hear how everyone else handles this in their own lives!

We can eat what we want to eat. Kashering goes back to the Old Testament.

It is true that Noah and God's Covenant with him is in the Old Testament. But this is what the NEW TESTAMENT says:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. (Gal.3:14–17).

If your not sure what it says, it says that men's covenants are not just annulled. How much more shall one made with God stand firm.

Also in the New Testament is an intricate plan by God to include Gentiles into the Covenant made with Abraham and his seed, but keeping them out of the clutches of the flesh and the Law.

If you're still not sure about Covenants, even those made by men dozens of years before, you should read up on the Covenant Joshua made with the Gibeonites. Hundreds of years later God chastised Israel for breaking it and only the slaughter of a royal family of Israel, at the Gibeonite's hands, stayed God's hand.

The Apostles were under Christ's tuition for 3.5 years. Here is their take on the matter:

Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. 19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. (Act.15:18–21).

This regulates Christians. But the last sentence shows that the Gentiles IN GENERAL would know about Noah because the Jews dispersed among them had a record, and read, Moses. God's chastisement of Israel by dispersion kept the Gentiles informed.

So my advice, for what its worth, is, IF YOU SEE A RAINBOW first marvel that God still gives signs, and then think how disastrous it might be if you ate blood.

Here are a couple verses to consider in this discussion:

"And He was saying, 'That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man.'" Mark 7:20

"It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man." Matthew 15:11

What about a spiritual equivalent to boiling

meat to remove the residue of blood?

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing

that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into

captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Cleansing of the blood is a cleansing of the heart and the renewing

in the spirit of your mind.

Joel 3:21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed:

for the Lord dwells in Zion.

To what extent?

Should, shall, may, must ...

Who is a debtor to the whole law, but he who practices but one law. (Galatians 5:3).

Thread is not about circumcision, which would require debt to the whole law.

I can wash my hands, or avoid pork and not be a debtor to the Law. It is called

understanding and abiding in the common sense application of God's Word.

Perhaps in preparation of food that includes Jewish guests.

We are advised to take steps to avoid offense to others.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
