Christmas decorations from the past

Of what he mentioned in the video, I still have my huge Christmas wreath and Christmas village houses.

Cool! I intend to make a video of a bunch of decorations, mainly from my friend's house. He must have one of the largest personal collections around.

I have a few large boxes and several smaller boxes of Christmas decorations.   Also, a medium sized box of all Hallmark ornaments.    Nearly everything was bought at after Christmas sales since 1967 when we came to California so it's vintage.

I only bring out a little the past few years.   I love the cheerfulness of the decorations.   No children to leave it to...for now I don't concern myself about it.   Maybe later I might give some stuff away to nice neighbor friends.

My remembrance of that time was a big department store in the city where they had their front windows done in Christmas themes. They had moving parts and lit up with the Nativity scene and another with Shepherds and another with the Wise men. 

I had a cuppa with a friend last week in a nearby town and it was good to see up above the windows of some shops, the nativity scene etc done in patch work etc.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, a department store did the same thing with the windows.   Also, the Planetarium had a gigantic model train display (villages, fair with Ferris wheel, etc)... it's still going on after 100 years.  

A little park had a Winter Wonderland... nativity and child sized houses lit up for Christmas.    Another department store made a Winter Wonderland where children could ride on the miniature train through it.
