He tried Abraham's faith in the resurrection from the dead....

Abraham knew he would be dead....Isaac (1st generation) would be dead,  Jacob (2nd generation)and the twelve patriarchs would be dead in this covenant....(3rd generation)

Gen 15:13  And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

The wrath did not come at the same time....A remnant was saved...The apostolic church. Because Christ did not just save them from the wrath of 70ad, he saves to the uttermost.

Certainly Abraham was promised eternal life in the one who is the eternal life when he comes and he had to wait for him to die on the Cross first. Abraham knew about Jesus had come into the world from John the Baptist who went ahead to where Jesus was to go after his death on the Cross.

Jesus spoke the words that Abraham rejoice knowing about him right after John's the Baptist death when he descended to the Father Abraham to prepare the way of the Lord's coming to them with the gift of the eternal life.

It has nothing to do with wrath. It has to do with those that are His at His coming. When he comes, those that are His at His coming will be the first fold.

I'm sorry. When Jesus comes we, jew- gentile will be gathered together as one bride adorned for her husband. I don't see your point in trying to make two distinctions of people.

Jesus is talking about one fold under one Sheppard. 

One fold with one Sheppard the Lord of the Eternal Life Jesus Christ. 

At that time this fold had not sheep under the blood of Jesus Christ as Jesus spoke knowing that first people in his fold will be from the believing Israelites. Because the Gospel will be preached first to them. 

And the Jesus gives the spin off that soon after them "other sheep will be gathered in the same fold. Other believers not from the Jewish stock.

Jesus made that possible. One fold one Sheppard. Jesus Christ will die for the forgiveness of the sins of the world. 

This is the underlined message. It was about what soon to take place and the first to be gathered in the Jesus Christ fold will be Jewish believers and soon Gentile believers will begin to arrive and joined in the same fold.

I do not understand why you see other events there that Jesus Christ say nothing about in that passage and that we are looking at what Jesus said in that passage in John 10:16 as it is posted in your post.

God saw the fathers of Israel as the first fruits of the first harvest of the fig tree. The fig tree has two harvests. But Israel went to Baalpeor. Therefore they are not the first harvest. The Gentiles become the first harvest. There will be a rapture of the Church before the great tribulation.

Hosea 9

10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

Jesus came to the Jews. He told the disciples not to go to the Gentiles as His ministry was to the Jews. BUT THEY WOULD NOT.

Matthew 23

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

I see exactly what is there. The first fold is those that are Christs at His coming. That is the Gentiles. The Jews are blinded. They do not see Christ is the Messiah and will not until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in.

Romans 11

The pretribulation rapture is the first fold. After that, there are 144,000 first fruits of the second fold. The second rapture will occur at the 6th seal BEFORE the wrath of God. Both folds will go into one-fold.......the great multitude. They will be in heaven during the one-year wrath of God.

It puzzles me how so many do not understand that Jesus will come in an hour that they think not. That is why we are told to WATCH.
