HERE WE GO AGAIN:

Yes ok, but what is enough? Yes I am in love with Jesus but I am also sitting on my duff playing on the internet when I could be spreading the word, and I assure you I have no intention of doing that today.........so what is enough? What is not enough?

SIGH, NO ONE GETS IT AND I KEEP REPEATING MYSELF

Yes, there seems to be a lot of repeating going on around here.

You can't do enough. You aren't good enough. If you think you can be good enough to get to heaven, get over yourself. God is perfect and only perfect things can enter into His presence. YOu can have all the bad cleaned off of you, but only by asking Jesus. You can't work your way into Heaven. Only Jesus can get you there. All you have to do is ask.

There is no enough. There is no not enough. There is nothing you can do to work your way into heaven. All you have to do is ask for Jesus forgiveness and accept it.

Clear? One more time, you cannot do enough to go to Heaven. You cannot be too lazy to go to Heaven. You simply ask Jesus to forgive you, the sins all go away, and you get a free trip. It is a gift. Stop trying to make it into something you earn when it has already been given to you.

Now, on the subject of gifts. If you were homeless, hungry, freezing to death, alone in the dark and scared, and someone came up and offered you food and a home, you would take it. That would be a gift. If every night you left your warm home and went out to sit in your old box in the alley, and as you were freezing to death the same man came along and took you home, you would go. (Ok, not everyone, there are those who refuse this gift, but you're a smart girl and take it.)

Your benefactor is a rich man, and all he does is go find homeless people and give them free houses and free food. One day he asks you to go find another homeless person and bring them to their new home. He doesn't say that you will lose your house if you don't, he doesn't take your food from you, he only asks you to do a simple task. Do you go share what you have with others or do you sit home and leave the others to take care of themselves?

That's where you are. God has given you a wonderful gift. You didn't earn it. He isn't taking it away from you. He is asking you to take care of His home that He has given you, in this case the home is your salvation. He is asking you to tell others the good news so they can be warm and fed, too.

It sounds like you want to know how little you can do to get by with God. That isn't very greatful, and it does not sound like real love to me. I suppose we should all be glad that He gives us what we don't deserve instead of what we deserve. He didn't see how little He could get away with for us. God didn't say, "I could send my son to die, but I guess they will be ok if I just send my pet dog." He doesn't say, "Hmm, should I answer prayers today or watch that new movie that is coming out?" Aren't we blessed that His love is perfect and not selfish or lazy like human love? That wasn't pointed as an insult in your direction, Daughter, we are all guilty of not doing the right thing now and again. We all need grace, none of us is perfect. On the other hand, I don't think that excuses not even trying.

Now it's The daughter of the King's turn to tell us THE PRECISE EVIDENCES in her life that underscore her New Birth in Christ Jesus. Evidences, evidences, evidences, please! I'm sure we all wait with baited breath.

Hmm,

From what I have seen Daughter of King, you mainly don't want to hand out tracks right? I mean you have mentioned that several times but handing out tracks is not a very effective method of evangelism, its okay for some, but I would not worry about not handing out tracks.

Keep one thing in mind, God gave us a wonderful world, a beautiful place and the capacity for joy, He has given us many cool, fun things to do and occupy ourselves with, that do not involve sin.

For me I enjoy outdoor adventure sports my wife likes going to parties with our friends and shopping. I think you have some sort of idea that a lived Christianity is some sort of boring life of drudgery, its not or at least it does not have to be. It is not always easy, but no good thing is easy.

If you were in love with Jesus, you would not want to know what the bare minimum necessary to make it to heaven. One who loves Jesus would want to go above and beyond.
As shiloh says this is the bottom line.

Yes and how many of us go above and beyond? Apparently Heaven is gonna have only about 25 people? The disciples and Mother Teresa and perhaps some children?

Heaven is going to include pedophiles, rapists and murderers, along with Mother Theresa and children, but it won't include anyone who is not willing to repent of their sin and turn to Christ.

Do what you would normally do, if you are saved you will want to try to follow Christ, if you are not really saved but have a false faith, you won't care or really want to try, its not that hard to understand. The fact that you care shows the Holy Spirit is in you, if you really in your heart don

Hi Daughter,

I wish I knew how old you are; I'm guessing 13-15???

My suggestion would be to take your walk with Jesus one step at a time. Maybe we are trying to feed you "meat" when you need "milk".

The fact that you are here and asking these questions puts you way ahead of many young people who are not even thinking about Jesus. I commend you for that.

The fact that you are afraid of hell is not totally a bad thing. After all "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". Psalm 111:10 As we first begin to approach God, who is all-holy, all-powerful and perfect, it is natural to experience fear.

As you grow in your relationship, the fear will lessen (but never totally disappear) and will be replaced by an ever-deepening love and trust. In this process you will find yourself wanting to do His will, whatever it may be. Love will become the primary motivation for wanting to serve God.

For now, try to focus on prayer and Bible study. Ask God to reveal His will for you, at this time in your life.

Remember Jesus says we must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven. Keep your simple wide-eyed faith. Trust Jesus. Do whatever you know in your heart He wants you to do.

Later He will ask more of you. For now, simply confess your sins, ask for mercy and forgiveness. And love Jesus with all your heart.

Peace,

Fiosh

Here is my point, DoK... If I say I love someone, then I will have corresponding actions. If I have a girlfriend, and she likes Chocolates, but I bring her caramels, if she likes gold jewelry, but I bring her silver, if she likes Roses, but I bring her Carnations, if she likes to eat at a certain restaurant, but I take her every where but that restaurant, she is not going to believe me when I say that I love her, if that cycle continues. My actions would not agree with that profession of love. Love is operative in nature, and must be accompanied by a life that demonstrates professed love.

If you love Jesus, then you would long to please Him, not in order to stay out of hell, but just because you love Him. Such actions would be a natural product of who you are in Christ. As it stands, your motives for doing any good deeds are completely selfish, and conditional upon keeping you out of hell. That demonstrates that your profession of being "in love with Jesus" is simply not true. If you love Jesus, you would not want to do those things that displease Him. Instead you would actively seek to please Him and bring joy to His heart.

You need to seriously examine whether or not you are truly saved. This is nothing to take lightly.

I think I understand your feelings. I spent many years thinking

about religion and the church and God, and tried to live a good

life. But I had no experience in prayer or religion, and I had

no idea who God is, or if he is a real person or just an energy

wave (!), or what.

The fact that you joined this forum and ask questions about

hell, and how to avoid it is a major step. I have a few friends who

consciously decided to go to church and try to live according to the

teaching of the Bible. I think they have no personal experience of

God, they have not met him yet. Still they value their faith in the

hope that one day God's grace will open their eyes.

I think such waiting is enough for salvation. Man has no more power

than that.

Look for God, and you will find him. Don't be afraid, dare to ask

questions and you will get the answers.

Best wishes,

Richard

I've read most of this post and I see DoK getting very frustrated. Seems like we're missing the real question/s here or we have only partially answered them.

So, I thought I'd give it a shot. Please DoK, bear with me here, I get the impression that you want to know what is the minimum you need to do to get into heaven or to avoid hell.

Or can you be a Christian with faith in Christ without having to do all the stuff that most Christians feel obligated to do and still get into heaven?

And can you be a Christian with faith in Christ and just live a 'normal life'?

Please confirm if this is correct.

Unfortunately, I'll only be able to view your answers tomorrow as time does not alow me to stay online at the moment.

Till tomorrow,

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
