I think it might for Jew's with regards to the earthly inheritance... But for those in Christ I agree with your sentiment. We are not, along with  Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob looking for an earthly country. The carnal circumcision does nothing for that without Christ.

You said (I think it might for Jews with regards to the earthly inheritance)

I have not thought of that before. Now that you brought something new in to think about.

Deu 4

31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Jere 30

3 For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Jere 31

31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

V 33 sounds exactly like the NCI

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Israel will not have to be concerned with the old Covenant they wiil have to accept Jesus as their Savior and abide under the NC and will be returned to the land of their Fathers

I think so too. The covenant of circumcision included much more than we think. it was a covenant of mercy, grace by faith at that....

The covenant of the law could not disannul those things..

Ga 3:15  Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. {covenant: or, testament }
Ga 3:17  And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Heb 6:13  For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14  Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16  For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
17  Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

Eternal inheritance.....

Heb 9:15  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Please correct me if I'm mischaracterizing that position. I've heard some Christians argue that modern-day Israel and its Jews are no longer significant to God because the old covenant is over and done with.

If that's true, why then did God bring the Jews back to the promised land and ensure that Israel was reborn in 1948? Clearly, they remain God's chosen people.

So what Biblical arguments for and against?  Thanks.

Hey.. the words that stood out to me was "& its Jews" lol. Truth I have no clue I personally believe if they don't matter then no one else on this planet does..yet I know what your really asking. It is written they would become a nation in a day and that happened.  Again I don't know I personally believe He is the God of Israel they are His chosen people yet they that don't believe in Yeshua are just as lost as anyone else on this planet. I believe every promise God made to Israel He will keep.. He has to or He is not God.

If what He showed me and said a few years ago is true I believe it was,

He showed me a beautiful tree with ..oh never seen a tree with so many branches and He said "show me a branch that was not originally of the vine. I am the vine you are the branches". Point is does not matter what man says about Israel there are original branches (Israel) and the rest are grafted in.

I believe the Scriptures make it clear that God has big plans for Israel, a literal Hebrew race of people .   God is coming to Israel to protect the Hebrew people from their enemies.

The United States will not do it  -  God himself will come down and do this himself.

The world bank club needs to give approval and permission for the USA to assist in helping a victim in the middle east

Jer 3:17  At that time they shall call Jerusalem the  throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem:;........

Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

: 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. :4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall split in the middle.

This is the third coming    -    The battle of Armageddon    -     The Armada of saints.

the world worship and love a victim and love Israel just as long as Israel remains a victim.  A victim on the edge of suicide, in a state of shock, panic, fear, worry and anxiety .....

then and only under these circumstances will the world  absolutely love and worship Israel.  because they worship victimology.... the moment Israel becomes dominating force and completely triumphant  -  the world suddenly falls out of love and see Israel for what they have always have seen Israel as..

the world see the middle east situation with Muslims and Jews at war     -as Abraham  going crazy,  Abrahams family are having a dispute.     this is how America also sees it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
