Israeli Bombs Pound Gaza City’s Shujaiya Neighborhood, Killing at Least 30

Israeli strikes pounded Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighborhood on Wednesday, killing at least 30 Palestinians and leaving dozens more missing under the rubble.

 

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the initial strikes targeted a four-story residential building, flattening it and damaging ten nearby homes. At least eight children are among the 30 Palestinians confirmed killed by the bombing.

Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli strikes left nearly 80 people missing and that attacks were continuing across the neighborhood. “The Israeli jets are carrying out more and more deadly attacks across the central and eastern parts of the district, destroying more homes and attacking people trapped inside these residential buildings,” said Al Jazeera reporter Hani Mahmoud.

 

WAFA reported that five Palestinians were killed by another Israeli strike on Shujaiya, following the one that killed at least 30 people.

 

Mahmoud said rescue workers officially ceased their operations in the area since it was getting too risky for them to work due to the Israeli bombardment. The al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City has also been overwhelmed with casualties following the attacks, as hospitals across Gaza are short on vital supplies due to the total Israeli blockade that’s been imposed since March 2.

 

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday that at least 60,000 children were “at risk of serious health complications due to malnutrition” due to the Israeli blockade. ” The ministry said the “lack of adequate nutrition and drinking water will compound health challenges, with the continued ban on vaccinations for children, especially polio vaccination.”

 

Israeli strikes also pounded central and southern Gaza on Wednesday as attacks have been relentless since Israel restarted its genocidal war on March 18, which it did with full support from the US. The Health Ministry said in its daily update that at least 1,482 Palestinians have been killed and 3,688 were injured since the full-scale bombing resumed. Over 500 children are among the dead.

Usually in a war you have two armed forces fighting each other. All I ever see in Gaza are innocent civilians being murdered, along with their homes being leveled. Have you seen drone footage of Gaza lately? 

To me it appears as if a whole race of people are being annihilated. How are they getting away with this?

yes it is war.  War is never fair.

What is the alternative for Israel?  Let Hamas to continue to grow and harm Israel? Same for those in the north,  does Israel just let them continue to fire rockets into Israel, how else should they stop them?

Gaza is still launching rockets into israel - most are shot down. Hamas  only needs to give up the hostages and to leave Gaza to stop the fighting, Gaza/Hamas will not.  Gaza is a festering sore and if the antiseptic is not applied it will keep harming Israel.   It is Gaza/Hamas choice.

Hamas has made it difficult for Gazans to leave, to get to safety.  Hamas does not care about their people. 

The Gazan's over the past week or two have finally been protesting and resisting Hamas and telling Hams to get out, to release the hostages and they are met with hostility from Hamas.  Today new tunnels are found by IDF in a kindergarten school area.... why do these evil people put their own children in the line of fire? 

It is a sad war as is all wars.  But it is the hardened hateful who keep it going.

I will outline my non-antisemite position and view. So that I do not regret replying to this post, I will not entertain or debate rebuttals.

Firstly, God is in control of the affairs of men and His chosen nation, Israel, with His prophetic plans and purpose for His people unfolding.

In OT Hebrew, the word HAMAS translates as VIOLENCE. Hamas, Hezbollah, and the rest of Iran’s puppet proxies' official platform is to drive Israel into the sea and remember her no more (genocide). Their undeniable goal is genocide, the complete annihilation of the Jews, Israel (little Satan), and America (Big Satan).

Israel has every moral and legal right to defend its sovereignty against terrorism and wars of aggression. Terrorism is cowardice, hiding and operating in hospitals, mosques, public buildings, and among their people, mitigating attacks.

Israel announced and publicized their intentions with Hamas and Gaza, warning all residents to flee. If Egypt, Jordan, and the surrounding Arab-Muslim nations are so concerned about the Palestinians, why do they not take them into their countries? Answer: They do not want them either. The majority of Israeli food, medical, and aid relief given does not reach the population that needs it; Hamas confiscates it for their antisemite purposes and terrorism.

As a Muslim, you are either an active participant in terrorism or support it, having no other choice when they come knocking on the door. There is no need to mention their barbarism and inhumanity, parading around elderly holocaust survivors and then killing them and publicly beheading innocent men, women, infants, and children in the streets. Burning people alive in their own homes, etc.  

Israel bends over backward to reduce civilian population casualties like no other nation. As a combat veteran and amateur historian, I can attest that unintended casualties and mistakes are unavoidable in any war. Radical Islam has no regard for infidel life or any rules of war and looks forward to their 72 virgins. Islam is a satanic religion, not of love but hate toward Jews, Christians, and infidels until forced conversion or death. Because of love, Christ died for us. Because of hate, Allah (Satan) wants them to die for him and go to Hell.

No, the perverted question of how Israel is getting away with it is preposterous.

Yes, it is war. Not so different than the destruction continuing to take place in eastern Ukraine, and certainly in Sudan. And in World War II, in Japan and Germany. A war doesn't end until one side surrenders.

As far as "innocent civilians," how do you know how many really are civilians? Hamas never wears uniforms during combat, and all of their people are possible warriors, including their women and children suicide bombers.

You're not getting what I'm saying. You say that they can eliminate a race of people from off the face of the earth because many consider them to be God's chosen people, which implies that everything we see going on is being met with God's approval? I don't think so. 

If any other country in the world was committing these atrocities ( and there are many, like the recent murders of 15 red crescent paramedics  in cold blood ) everyone would be up in arms. It would not be tolerated. 

This is my point. These are war crimes being committed. This is not normal activity during the course of a war. The civilians are not armed. It's murder.

The world’s top war crimes court issued warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The court said they committed crimes against humanity for intentionally depriving Gazans of food and directing attacks against civilians. Israel called it an anti-semitic attack on democracies trying to defend themselves from terrorism. Nick Schifrin reports.

Excuse me, in those other wars the combatants were armed  young men fighting each other. Not so in Gaza.

Day after day there are unarmed civilians BEING TARGETED, mostly women and children. When they count fatalities they aren't even counting the thousands that are trapped or crushed in rubble. There are no weapons on these people. They are innocent civilians. Tens of thousands of them. I don't know what the mainstream media is showing but I see it ... It's absolutely terrible. There is no excuse. And this certainly does not have God's blessing.

I'm not sure what you are even talking about.  Civilians are NOT BEING TARGETED.  You need to re-evaluate your news sources.

The reporting of these figures has been analysed by a group of international scholars, who meticulously analysed reports of Gaza war fatalities from February 2024 through May 2024. They examined 1,378 articles from major English-language newspapers and media outlets, specifically The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, CNN, the BBC, Reuters, The Associated Press and the Australian ABC.

Over that four-month period, 84% of those publications failed to make the critical distinction in total numbers between combatant deaths and civilian deaths. Only 5% of the surveyed media organisations cited numbers released by the Israeli authorities, while 98% cited fatality figures provided by the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health.

 

The reality is that war is horrific -- and it's SAD when innocent people die -- BUT TO SUGGEST that ISRAEL IS PURPOSING targeting civilians shows that you are NOT OBJECTIVELY looking at the war taking place in Gaza.

War crimes? Do you know anything about the Non-Aggression Principle? Have you ever been attacked by one or more people? SO are you saying that Israel should not defend itself? Who attacked who first? Me and my pregnant wife was strong arm robbed one time. She was ready to pop pregnant, perhaps I should have defended her since they saw her flash some cash and she was the one in danger. I stopped them cold. They wasnt even smart enough to bring a knife to a gunfight, they saw a skinny guy with a pregnant girl with cash so they decided to try to rob us anyway just because there were two of them and they were both bigger than me. But, they didnt like facing a 45 and they never even got to sucker punch me. 

Was I wrong for bringing a 45 to a strong arm robbery? 

Using your logic I did those men wrong for raising the ante up so much so fast. They didnt want to strong arm rob anymore if I was going to (Gasp) have an ace up my sleeve. Geez man the men were prolly hungry and had kids all over town to feed! So I didnt shoot them. I didnt have to. 

I'm guessing that you've never been in the lilitary before either. Soldiers dont usually operate that way. When you threaten a soldier then they deliver to him death on full auto. 

Maybe you think the US Military should let the Houthis attack whoever they want to. Might hurt their feelings! 

You need to get over it. The world Miltary forces must fight or Israel will be wiped out and no one left, genocide. War crimes!

I am carefully considering the propaganda here, on both sides. Trustworthy news sources are very important. I  try to get all the information I can, so the links you sent will be looked into. 

But let's not ignore the toll this war is taking on the lives of the innocent, which is where my heart is at.

The real travesty as believers is the FACT that 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza HAVE LITTLE to NO ACCESS to visible true faith.  If we are truly going to have peace in the Middle East, it will COME through the PRINCE of PEACE ... not through a religion that calls for the destruction and killing of the "infidels," aka Jews and Christians!  

So what we should be praying for is a quick end to this war -- the opening of Gaza to Christian NGOs to help rebuild Gaza in the name of Jesus, both physically and spiritually!  

Truly, Jesus died for the Palestinians as well -- and since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip, they've hunted and killed Christians and shut down the gospel in the Gaza Strip -- that's the true TRAVESTY!
