I believe a day is coming not far from now, how long I do not know, when we may have our Bibles taken away from us.

Sue, I'm afraid you are all too correct. I remember as a child in the early 80's our pastor talking about what were you going to do when they knocked on the door and asked for your Bible. I remember thinking "this is the United States. This will never happen in my lifetime!" Now I'm seeing how correct she truly was as the ACLU and their ilk push to remove every vestige of Christianity from this once Christian nation. If it gives you any hope, and I don't know if you're pre or post trib, this lady who said this has also said that she feels she will be alive at the time of the rapture; she doesn't say God told her that specifically, but she's always felt it. She will be 91 next year, so if indeed God allows her to see the rapture, it isn't that far away!

In the Bible, when people recieve revelation from the Lord over a specific event, it generally occurs in a one time ordeal. Though some prophets have multiple prophecies over periods of times, each prophecy generally deals with a different event.

In false prophecy, such as Joseph Smith, it's always a "series of visions." This prophecy is a "series of visions."

I had sensed that God was saying to me that something was going to take place on Thanksgiving Day that would open the way for us to go in and take possession of the land, and when nothing happened that day, I prayed about it, asking him to show me what I had missed. He then gave me the verse about a prophet praying for the sun to stand still for a day in order to win a battle, and he indicated to me that he had given me an extra day. The next morning, my brother called me at 9:00 a.m. and his message said,

Greetings all.

I would say that Sue was given the ministry of prophecy from God. I am a college student and I experienced the living waters of God in December of 2004. It was then that I actually started to recognize that prophecy is an existing and important function in the body. I finally understood the move of the Lord's Spirit and that the children of God were living in stagnant water...stuck on Christ as eternal redemption and not moving forth in the Lord's move. Prophecy would sort of be like keeping the body up to date.

Sue, I happen to have spoken to another sister who had a similar vision as yours. This was near the end of December. She spoke of places of refuges for the saints. I spoke also concerning this vision for I am studying Civil Engineering and felt that perhaps God led me to this major so as to know the means to build such a refuge. Were you perhaps this sister?

Dreams and visions should not be shunned altogether rather discerned. It is important that we do not "despise prophecy" but prove and discern them as the bible so instructs.

Later we learn that God actually intends this to occur two years later, in 2006.

I doubt modern prophecies so much that when I see an inconsistancy I see absolutely no reason to believe the entire prophecy.

There is literally no point in God giving visions telling us, "Ooooo, it's close! Better start working!" It says He returns like a theif in the night (as the OP states). This means there is no warning prior to His return. Why is this? Because it shouldn't take a prophecy to motivate us to to preach the Gospel or live our Christian duty. Likewise, if He keeps saying, "I'm about to pour out my judgement" then He certainly isn't comming like a thief.

So what's this about then?

Acts:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

When you say there is no warning, you do not know the scriptures, for we are given plenty of signs and wonders as warnings of the nearness of the Lord's return and God expects that we will be able to read the signs and will be watching and waiting expectantly for his return, and he doesn't give us a specific date. He says we will know it is near by the signs. And, he does say that this should motivate us to be self-controlled and alert and living in the light and not in darkness.

Thank you, Ronald, for those words. Yes, I believe the coming of our Lord is not far away, too. I believe that I may be called upon to suffer for Christ during the seven years of tribulation, but it would be ok by me if the pre-trib rapture people were right and I was wrong. My take has always been that it is better to be prepared for the worst and then if you are wrong, great! But, if you feel certain that the rapture will take place pre-trib and you are wrong, will that not shake one's faith? I'd rather err on the side of post-trib, but I have no qualms either way. I know God has it all figured out and whatever he chooses is fine with me. No suffering would most certainly be preferred, but then we have always been promised that we will be called upon to share in the fellowship of his sufferings and that we should rejoice when we are persecuted for righteousness sake.

I know what you mean about our religious liberties being stripped away from us. My husband and I have had a ministry to college-age adults these past seven years out of our home. Over a year ago we felt God was leading us to expand the ministry into a church, so we became a church planting couple much like Priscilla & Aquila in the NT book of Acts. The Lord saw fit that my husband should lose his job, take a major cut in pay, have to sell our house and for us to move into an apartment that had a club house. We asked if we could rent the club house weekly, and since hardly anyone was renting it and the calendar was pretty open they saw no reason why we could not rent it, so they said "yes." So, that's where we have been meeting since September of this year. Beginning the end of November I began to inquire about next year's calendar, but they kept giving me the run around. I had a feeling they were trying to brush me off, but I kept asking until they said "no." They finally told my husband a couple of days ago that beginning next year we can no longer use the club house for our meetings claiming there was some kind of problem with us using it weekly, but I saw last year's calendar and every Sunday was available. They finally admitted they did not want residents holding regular religious meetings in the club house, so our young church is without a home at present.

The apartment complex has a rule about solicitation and we knew that, but we wanted to give our neighbors a gift for Christmas and we wanted to invite them to a Christmas celebration at the club house this Sunday so we spent $750 on gift bags for 500 apartments and were in the process of distributing them when I received a phone call from the office telling us we had to take them all down because we were "soliciting." Soliciting does not mean giving gifts or inviting someone to an event. It means begging money or some favor or gratification from someone, which we were not doing. I fell and twisted my foot while distributing the bags so I was neither able to complete the distribution nor could I retrieve the bags but I did have a couple of helpers who I asked to begin retrieving the bags when my husband called. He told me that what we had done was not solicitation and they had no right to ask us to take them down, so he told the girls to stop and wait until he could talk to the people in the office, but he had to first take me to the doctor and then to the hospital for x-rays and by the time we returned all the bags had been taken down by the apartment maintenance. We were able to recover some of them, but we believe they threw out a bunch, though we can't prove it. But, we were planting seed and we believe God will grow that seed and will bless our efforts.

So, I am freshly feeling the effects of religious persecution and know that it is only going to get worse. America is not the America I knew. It has really changed and the only way it will come to its knees, I believe, is through a shaking of God.

Gee. how convinient. You gave your prophecy AFTER the events occured.

Did you know that in June of 1999 I had a prophecy that George W. Bush would be president, that on September 11, 2001 terrorists would bomb the WTC, that we would go to war with Iraq, and that Bush would be re-elected?

Sarcasm is not a virtue.

I feel that it is a virtue, if you're a Jew, talking to another Jew, about Jesus Christ.

Ask any Jew to tell you about JC, and you will feel sarcasm ( if you love your neighbor, as you love yourself ) as a sense of humor with total lack of love.

We must love Jews, we don't have a choice.

Or maybe this is just me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
