That is called the progression of temptation TO sin.

James 1:14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Thx, Suzanne...I was thinking of the same verse but couldn't remember it exactly...I remember it as the verse that dealt with "conception" and "giving birth to sin "...and such.

That's the one...Thx for that. Cat :il:

Hmmm. I have never heard of that theory before. I don't think anyone is in

hell yet, or, why would there be a Final Great White Throne Judgement?

So you believe in sleeping souls then? If no one is in hell yet, then where are all the people who died and didn't accept Christ as their savior? And is there anyone in Heaven yet?

Well happy, the ones who didn't except Christ are probably sleeping still. No

one is in hell. How can anyone else be in hell, if the king of hell is still roaming

through the heavens and the earth?

And there are some people who are in Heaven: Moses, Elijah, Enoch, Jesus

( of course ), possibly Mary ( don't know for sure ). That's as far as I know.

I don't know if Abraham, Jacob, Isaac or Noah are there. Possible? But, this is

the old heaven. Remember, there is still a new heaven, waiting for everyone.

The old heavens shall be burned up with the old earth, and after the 1000

years, they shall be made new.

C4C: I don't believe they are sleeping. I do believe they go to a place called, 'Hades' or the first death.

There's a lot of controversy...some believe in the "pit" as King David called it...or a place like Hell but different. It's a temporary place of torment where at some point all who remain there will stand before the White Throne Judgement.

Our (Baptist) preacher just preached on the subject of hell and he explained it like this.

I tend to think people do go to a terrible place (not the Lake of Fire yet) because frankly, I've read so many documented accounts by non-Christians who suffered heart attacks or some Near Death thing...and they experienced a frightening thing that seemed "too real" ...and turned their whole lives around and became Christians. They saw a "hell-like" place and were filled with great fear.

So, my suspicion is they go to a place to await the final judgement, called the "White Throne Judgement"...while believers go to the Bema seat (spelling?) or seat of mercy.

Christians who've had Near Death ordeals also describe seeing things but they are good experiences filled with angelic visions or the presense of God/Jesus...really awesome from what I hear. They don't want to come back at all...

So, I dunno...I tend to believe that there's a really bad place no one wants to go to - period. I think the Bible calls it Gehenna or Hades..but it's separate from the Lake of Fire.

I'm sure someone will dispute this because people have been disputing it for ages and no one is sure, much less in agreement.

"king of Hell" :t2: I have never heard of a King of Hell In scriptures? As far as I know there is no King of Hell. Can you show me the verses that support this?

To me these verses are the most telling about Hell/Hades

Revelation 20

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.  12And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[3] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[4] 15And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hades will be cast into the lake of fire. Therefore Hades must not be the lake of fire.

Also the dead will come from different places for the final judgment and it says some will come from Hades. So therefore Hades must have people in it before the final Judgment.

Hi happy Did you read my Scripture quote Revelation 20 ?

It says "13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them" So here there is mentioned.

1) The Sea

2) Death

3) Hades

If the dead where all to come from the same place why does scriptures mention 3? Now is Death a place? Well it sounds like some kind of place in the context it is mentioned in. The Sea ? is this the physical oceans of the world or does this symbolize something else? either way it is still not Hades. So people will come to the judgment from different places.

So maybe there is an element of truth to the different theories people hold about where we go inbetween the time we die and the final judgment?

Very good information, Adstar! I think that makes clear the distinction between Hell and Hades... and it appears to me some will be "sleeping" in Hades awaiting final judgement...

Hell appears to me... the FINAL resting place of judgement!

I refer to the king of hell as Satan. Let's rephrase it: the prince of hell. Apollyon. Abaddon. Those are scriptural ( Apollyon and Abaddon.)

My Bible does have a cross reference, and it defines hell as "the grave". Hmmm. Maybe it is a temporary holding place for the damned. It is also named

these: Hades, Gehenna, Tartarus, Sheol.

Gee whiz. I always thought humans that were unsaved slept, and waited for

the final Judgment. Hmmm.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
