When does God not hear us?

When I read the verse "If you keep iniquity in your heart, God will not hear you" I got really scared and it effected me when I pray, sometimes I am worried God does not hear me. What does this verse really mean?

Well, it could mean if you are a hypocrite, or if you claim to be a christian, but

do not act christian, and ask for God, He will not listen to you.

However, could you possibly find the reference for that verse sister? I think it

could also mean something else.

I will do search, they key word is iniquity (I hope I spelled it correctly). I read it awhile ago but it's stuck in my head.

If you are IN CHRIST, there is no time when God does not hear you. There is no time when does not regard you as he regards his own Son. There is no time that he is abandoning you, tempting you, leading you into evil or calamity. If you are IN CHRIST you are "seated with Christ in the heavenlies," and you know where Jesus sits! At the RIGHT HAND of the Father, sharing His throne.

In times past, against those who were unfaithful and disobedient, who took to themselves other gods, who provoked God to jealousy, who grumbled in the face of grace and rescue, who cheated their neighbors and robbed God of what was his against widows and orphans, while professing with swelled pride themselves as the 'people of God,' the Lord punished them and turned his face away from them, and told them he would not hear them anymore; no more would their solemn assemblies or sabbaths mean anything to him.

But as it says in Hebrews, the blood of Jesus has BETTER THINGS to say of us, than the blood of righteous Abel. Remember, Abel's blood cried out for justice and vengance, but the blood of Jesus said "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do" (speaking to those who did not know, who would receive the Gospel with joy; for he had already pronounced condemnation upon those who rejected him, and who even said he had a devil and did his good works by the power of Satan, thus committing the unparonable sin, unforgivable in this age as well as the age to come)

But look at what is said to us who have recieved him and realize the contrast, between the first covenant and the new:

"For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

20(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things that that of Abel." Hebrews 12:18

and

Consider that all the great men and women of faith from times past, God has witheld from even the promise...

"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect." Hebrews 11:39

"Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." Romans 11:22

if then by faith we were grafted into that marvelous Kingdom, whose name is The Israel of God, then by unbelief we can likewise be cut off.

So let us remain in faith, seeking always his face and wisdom and purpose and blessing, allowing the Lord of all to reign and rule over every aspect of our lives.

How easy it is to let the King of the Universe run your life! The burden is easy

and the yoke is light for the Lord of Lords.

To Him be the glory and the honor forever more!

Isaiah 1:15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

Should we put that into some context? I don't think it really makes much sense

by itself

Isaiah 1:11-17

"To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats."

"When ye come to appear before Me, who hath required this at your hand, to

tread my courts?"

"Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto Me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting."

"Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hateth: they are a trouble unto Me; I am weary to bear them."

"And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide Mine eyes from you: yea,

when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood."

"Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before Mine eyes; cease to do evil;"

"Learn to do well; seek judgement, relieve the oppressed, judge the father-

less, plead for the widow."

It seems this is referring to Judah and her rebellion towards God. However, it

also refers to us. What it means is if we do strange things, like burn incense,

or celebrate new moons with feast, or to idols, if we plead to the Lord for help,

He won't listen, until you make yourself clean.

Whew! That's a mouthful!
