Well I basically agree from a spiritual perspective.

I think though the reason is obvious, right now the gay movement is making great strides politically and culturally in normalizing gay sexual behavior in the US. No one is trying to say that gossiping or thievery is good an normal. There is no thief

I have a question for those who regularly post the anti-homosexuality topics.

Why? Why the need to continually post about this particular sin? I'm not being smart, I'm sincerely asking. Why this sin, but not several topics weekly condeming gossips, gluttons, thieves and other sinners?

How much can be said about it? What's the point of going over it and over it and over it?

Homosexuality is throw in our faces almost on a daily basis. Many Christians such as myself are fed up with this and like to take a stand against this horrible sin. Watch any show on t.v. and there will more than likely be a homosexual cast member who is portrayed either as a victim of society or in a positive light. Homosexuals have a very powerful lobby and its called Hollywood. They would like nothing more than to be viewed as a normal lifestyle and this attitude is affecting society, especially the younger generation. Homosexuality is also a much a more devastating sin than gossip or gluttany, although all are sins. This is why I believe this topic comes up so much on this board, and I think it is great to teach the truth, because you won't find it in to many other places.

The sins of Sodom and Gomorrah are the sins of rape and perversion of both hetero as homosexuals and even animals are involved.

Well, YES these are dreadful sins but have nothing to do with a gay person who is true to his lover. Faithfulness, love and tender care have nothing to do with the above mentioned sins of Sodom and Gomorrah.

It is dreadful to see how gays are judged by all and also in church ..............they hear they are going for hell....my heart goes out to them. Let us be very careful with judging others and remember our Lord who said: judge not lest thou be judged.

All thoughout the Bible homosexuality is a refered to as a sin, abomination, unnatural, shameful, perverse, etc.. It has nothing to do with how many partners a homosexual has. I would refer you back to the book of Genesis when God created man and women and how complementarity sexes reflect God's inner unity. You are also forgetting a very important key here and that is procreation. Two homosexual men or women involved in a relationship can't conceive children. This is part of being involved in a valid marriage, being open to life. Homosexuals are obviously not open to life. God commanded us to be fruitful and multiply.

You are also doing what most supporters of the sin of homosexuality do and that is call Christians judgmental and uncaring. I feel very sorry for homosexuals and would do what ever I could to help them, but allowing them to live in sin and hurt themselves as well as others is not being very loving. Calling a sin a sin is not being judgmental, saying that a person is going to hell for committing a sin or that they are a bad person is being judgmental. Throughout the Bible Jesus has compasion for many sinners, but also throughout the Bible Jesus hated sin. One of those sins was homosexuality.

I agree we should not judge individuals.

But Sodom and Gomorrah are not the reasons I would oppose same sex marriage or believe that people having sex with other people of the same sex is a sin.

In the New Testament both Jesus and Paul lay out what it is to lead a sexually pure life. First and foremost is that sex is to be expressed only within the context of a mutually faithful lifetime marriage, between a man and a women. Christ specifically talks about this how a man and a women leave their homes and become one flesh, and how fornication is one of the things which proceed from our hearts which defile us. We can look at first Romans and see very specific descriptions of gay sexual lust and the problems with that, and we can further see throughout the epistles the problems with fornication and adultery, which would include two men or two women having sex with each other.

Now, does that make a man who is having sex with another man evil, even if they love each other? No I don't think so at all, no more evil than anyone else who is having sex outside of the way God intended human beings to express their sexual desires, which is a good portion of the heterosexual population, including self proclaimed Christians. But we cannot simply change what are Gods intentions for sex because a group of people doesn

For the sake of brevaty I'd like to summarise a few of the last posts.

Basically, homosexuality is getting bashed around alot by christians right now because its a practise that many lobbyists are trying to have condoned and legally acknowledged as orderly and acceptable behaviour. Thats simply not right.

As christians, we address many many sins on these posts, murder and capital punishment is another at the forefront right now. Whatever sin people are shouting about "make it RIGHT!!" then we will dutifully shout "it will NEVER be RIGHT!!" twice as loud and twice as clear. The hard part for us is to somehow show to our opposition that God's love is right at the centre of it all.

My other point is this. I get sick of people throwing the "Judge not" passage at others like some kind of soaking ball of toilet paper to shut them up. The majority of people who like to chuck this passage around as an excuse to be leniant, don't have any clear understanding of what the passage actually means. The sort that usually read the black and white from start to finish only once and dont let it trully sink in.

The passage says.... Judge not, lest YOU be judged, for with what MEASURE you judge, YOU also shall be judged.

How can you remove the splinter from your brothers eye BEFORE you first remove the plank from your own.

We should judge CAREFULLY and RIGHTEOUSLY is the actual implication of the passage, judging matters which we can not ourselves be accused of. The other main stipulation of judgement of others through the NT is that we judge our own, but not unbelievers whom we instead give the gospel and the reason for it.

In short; Those most likely not to judge carefully and righteously are those with reason to be fearful of righteous judgement and those who may be lacking in faithfulness and fearful of being a hypocryte. What does that say about those of us not willing to make righteous judgements?

"Faithful are the wounds of a friend"

As said previous, love the sinner but hate the sin. It is wrong to be homosexual or whatever kind there is other than straight AND it is wrong ot practice it. There are also not a minority as discussed in another ongoing thread right now. The thing is, if we love someone, we are going to do what we can to help them. For instance:

If there was a bridge up ahead that was broken, would you not tell your friend about it so they woudlnt get hurt or die? If they tried to go anyways, woudltn' you do whatever was in your power to stop them out of love?

It is the same with sin. Men and women are on their way down the broken bridge and are on their way into the depths of hell. We need to tell them with love that it is wrong. Why? Because sin condemns us to hell. If they are saved, we need to take them aside with brotherly or sisterly love and explain to them what hte bible says and follow up by praying for them and helping them. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, the bible says. Love them, but tell them the truth.

Homosexuality is man acting within his fallen state and nature. What in the world is wrong in pointing this out?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
