As for contradictions in the Gospels, , try me

Do I 'ave to?

I know how that will go...I supply a contradiction, you post a why it is not a contradiction and at the same time say I need The Holy Ghost.

In the end nothing changes...You know what contradictions Im' talking about anyways...

The Lazarus claim doesn't need to be present in other Gospels because they record other raisings from the dead that are equally just as big. Chances are this occured during the time the 70 were sent out and John, being the most loved disicple, decided to stay with Jesus...thus he would hve been the only witness.

Maybe... *shrugs*

I mean, gosh, if the argument from absense works, why do you believe in blind evolution?

Blind? I don't. But I assume you mean without a God/designer? Mostly, because I know evience for parts of it, and I see more evidence for it that for YEC...The rest is culture. I'm not afraid to admit that. Beliefs you have because of family, upbringing ect.

As for admitting you're right... Iwas saying if I argued that George Washington was actually a Mexican you could not, under your logic, contradict me. I was showing your logic was faulty.

I know that.

No wonder George started an outer court forum. Half of the posters are outer their minds.

Not half....100%...the believers too...

I wouldn't say you need the Holy Spirit (though you do in the end). All you need is logic and interpretation skills. I know koine Greek so I feel I could make a good case against contradictions.

The point I'm making is if absence is valid proof for anything then you cannot be a Darwinian evolutionsist...ie an athiest.

Yes, you would have to produce the manuscript for such a charge to carry any weight. Anyone can make the accusation that the stories were made up, but demonstrating that with credible evidence is a different story.

Indeed. And my biblical knowlege about Jesus being the prophesised Messiah or not is too swallow. I just didn't study the subject enough...I need to read the prophets but I never came furthen then History, Wisdom and Law. (First parts of the OT)

So without any credible foundation, or true intellectual support, your rejection of the Bible's credibility is based upon what (other than just not wanting to believe)???

QUOTE

Yes a few maybe, but not to the degree that Jesus fulfilled them. To fulfill the number of prophecies that Jesus did, it would require the one doing the fulfilling to be in control of everything including including other people. Jesus' fulfillment was too specific

Prophets can be right about events and wrong about other things. There are prophets who were right outside of the bible and to me it is very possible that the bible prophets did 'see' the future, but not 100% true.

Can you name a prophecy that is found in the Bible that is contradicted by history? Pick any given prophecy and show that history completely contradicts what was prophesied.

Question: Is Micah 5:2 a prophecy wich leads to Jesus?
Yes, it is. Your point?

Hi Carter,

Try reading Psalm 22. Then read the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 15.

I understand your doubts. What we believe truly is absurd....that God the Son came down to earth; became man; suffered humiliation, mockery, crucifixion, and death; and all for people who continue to offend Him. Then rose from the grave and ascended into the heavens. And now sits at the right hand of God the Father. That God the Holy Spirit dwells within us, and guides us.

That one day, all believers.......as weak, rebellious, and sinful as we are.........will be washed in His Blood and share His glory.

Crazy, huh? Yep.

But true.

My favorite is John 1 1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.".........14"and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us".

Yeah, it's insane to think that God would do that for me. That He would die for me. And yet I still sin against Him. What an awesome love that must be.

Carter, He loves you too. He died for you too. You can know Him. All you have to do is ask.

All you have to do is admit your sins, ask for forgiveness, and trust Him.

Won't you take the risk and leap into the darkness? It is there that you will find the Light.

Can you say:

"Jesus,

I am afraid to believe in You. I am afraid I will look like a fool. What if it's not true? Please, Jesus, help me to believe in You. Give me the faith I need. I know I am a sinner; please forgive me. Please, Jesus, come into my life."

He's waiting for you.

Peace,

Fiosh

What prophecies did Jesus fulfill?

Did he:

Gather the Jewish people from exile and return them to Israel? ~ Isaiah 11:12

Rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem? ~ Ezekiel 37:26 - 27

Rule at a time of world-wide peace? ~ Micah 4:3

Rule at a time when all people will come to acknowledge and serve one God? ~ Isaiah 66:23

Well those are end-time prophecies that are still yet to be fulfilled. As to his first coming, He fulled over 300 prophecies.

The only prophecies that Jesus fulfilled were the ones that New Testament writers fabricated for him to fulfill by mistranslating random isolated Old Testament verses.
What a lame crock. What is your manuscript evidence to suport that baseless drivel?

What he believes is the foundation of todays Jewish church, they don't take in to consideration the second coming of Christ, when they saw him die, that was the end of it for them, he was a fraud in their eyes. To convey the writings of the New Testament as false is utterly ridiculous, even the best writers ever to live could not fabricate a HUGE tale, and not make one mistake whatsoever in doing so. The mathematical odds of all new testament books, writen by people in different places, and times, and being completely accurate with each other being fabricated is 1: you have to be out of your mind. :emot-pray:

I could ask you that same question, why hasn't the "true" messiah come yet?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
