This says much, much more about the state of UltraLib U.S. judges than it does about dysfunctional citizens. Did George Bush Sr. appoint this one? If so, methinks it speaks to the ex-President rather than to the judge.

This should serve to remind us that Jesus last name is not Christ. He is the Christ and should be refered to as such, but I tend to clinch my teeth when I hear Jesus Christ instead of Jesus THE Christ. Its kind of a sore spot with me. I don't mean to seem legalistic but thats how I feel. When folks say Jesus Christ, we know of whom they speak, but its simply poor use of our language that has caused this confusion. I have to admit I am surprised the man wasn't thrown out of the court house for even saying the name on "state" property. I understand that many Latino nations accept boys being named Jesus (hay-soose) but I doub't very much that any would allow such a name change that would even hint that the man was or even thought himself to be the Christ.

In my own opinion I would say that this is Blasphemy and would encourage the courts to reconsider. It it almost insulting that any judge would allow this in light of all the controvercy concerning separation of state.

That kinda bugs me, too.

Know what I do? Each time I see it written like that (Jesus Christ), I automatically insert a mental comma between the two words. That way, it looks like (Jesus, Christ) in my mind.

That way, in my own little brain, it really mean: Jesus, the Christ!

Weird, I know, but I blame it on poor nutrition! lol

When I lived in OK, at the grocery store I worked at, we had a guy who worked in the produce section everyone called "Jesus." The reason why is that his name tag said J-E-S-U-S. It was pronouned "Hey-soos" because he was Hispanic. Well one of the cashiers did not know the proper prounciation, and one day she got on the loud speaker and said,"Jesus, price check on lane 5." I am sure that got some looks from customers, and we had good laugh about it in the breakroom. So for while, and especially whenever this cashier was in the breakroom they would call him Jesus whenever he walked by. Needless to say, she was embarrassed, but that was half the fun.

Come to think of it . . . that might be a good rebuke to people who use "Jesus Christ" as a swear expression.

I wonder how they might react to someone saying, "No, it is 'Jesus the Christ.' Say it properly next time!"
