If my people which are called by my name...

A question came up the other day that I would like some input on....

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

What is this name that His people are called by:::::::

In Exodus God called Himself "I AM THAT I AM."

That is where we get Jehovah or Yahweh from. It was YHWH. Do some searches on those.

I've looked at that, but I can't find a group of people that are called either of those names until very receint in history. Maybe I am reading something into that called by my name that isn't or shouldn't be there..... I just don't know, and it'll probably keep me up late thinking about it.....

I did a search on my Bible works and came up with this. If my people who are called By ME(called by My Name).

He (God) already calls them My people(If My people) then goes on to say who are called by MY Name. So He (God) has already identified the people as (MY People) and goes on to say who are called by My Name (Called By Me) called by the One who was and Is and Is to come. The great I AM. This is how I see it.

I think Yahsway has it right on target. "who are called by my name" is more in the sense of describing the "my people." Keeping the whole Bible in mind, remember who He identifies as His people...In the Old Testament, the Israelites, the children of Abraham, are usually the ones being called "my people" by God. In the New Testament (and even for the gentile-born believers in the Old Testament times), that includes all who believe, for we who believe are all children of Abraham (Gal. 3:7).

I have a feeling it is Jesus. There is the growing hesitation to say 'Jesus' in the government, school, business and even everyday conversation. It's so easier to say 'God'. more later
