I love embracing my Jewish heritage at this church, but they always refer me to "The law will not pass away untill heaven and earth are destroyed." I show them Galations, well all of Pauls writings, do you have any other suggestions? Thanks

I have heard that this is a growing problem within Messianic Judaism, that they are going back to relying on the Law for salvation. :emot-questioned:

Well the pastor continually states that we recieve salvation through faith alone, which I agree with completely, it's just at times I get a little concerned when law comes up, because if we rely on law alone we are screwed. I am not committed to this church yet, I will feel them out for awhile, I know I will never find a perfect church, but if they start condemning me for chosing to eat pork, or not observing all the feasts there will be some problems.

When I think of the 12 tribes of Israel I consider them to be Jews, and Gentiles alike. When I say Jews, I mean people with Jewish blood who have accepted Christ, when I said Gentiles will be Jews, I dont mean blood line, I just mean that in G-d's eyes we will be equal. Like I said the 12 tribes will be followers of Yeshua, the "Jewish religion" denies Yeshua as Messiah, and if they continue to reject that, they are not part of these tribes, no matter what their blood is. A lot of this is new to me, so please be patient with me :emot-questioned: thanks

You seem to be border line truth and border line replacement theology. :emot-pray:

We need to understand that pertaining to salvation, yes, God views us as equal and those that are Jewish by race but have not accepted Christ are not "Jewish" in salvation (this is something Paul addresses, to differentiate between true Jews and false Jews). At the same time, this does not mean that the Church has become the new israel or that all Gentiles now hold the promises made to the Jews. Whereas the Gentiles are blessed in salvation like the Jews were, the Jews (bloodline) still hold a special purpose in God's heart. We are in the "time of the Gentiles" where God has opened up the heart of the Gentiles to be receptive to the Gospel. Yet the "time of the Jews" where the Jews hearts are opened is yet to come. The thing is, if the Church has replaced the Jewish people, or we have become Jews by nature....how are we to open up our hearts to the One that is already there? :emot-pray:

How does a person know whether they are a jew or a gentile ?

Salomon had a thousand woman , and if you ask me jews look the same as alot of folks who are called gentiles.

This is another thing that makes me wonder, when pilot was talking to Yeshua he said to him , you think i am a Jew?

I dont really understand why he said that. The Samaritian woman by the well was not considered a Jew but she said that Jacob was their ancestor.

for those of us who have no jewish decent we are biologically gentile. the New Testament states that there is neither jew or gentile, male or female, slave or free...we who believe are all children of GOD, having become one in JESUS CHRIST (Galatians 3:28) and goes on to say that we are Abraham's heirs according to the promise (v29). the Word says that we have been grafted in with Israel (see Romans 11:11-27..all very interesting). also the Word says that those who are of faith are sons of Abraham (Galatians 3:7-9).

*perhaps the woman at the well was a child of a mixed marriage, having one parent descended from Jacob and another of gentile blood. (no idea though).

*from my understanding Pilate was not a Jew at all.

i suppose you are neither jew or gentile, but a child of GOD grafted by faith into HIS family along with HIS people Israel.

Some of the things you have been saying about christians being "jews" concern me as much as those issues.

It sounds like you are in what is known as "ephramite" congregation or 2-House.

If so....run...don't walk.

There are a lot of healthy messianic congregations but there are also tares growing among the wheat. These Ephramite groups have the best of intentions but they miss the mark to start with and get farther away from the truth with time.

And any place who has their focus on the Torah instead of Yeshua is to be rejected as well...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
