Please don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say that God destroyed the mans house. I am saying PERHAPS he did. Who are you to say he didn't?

Gotta go; I can't believe I got pulled into this discussion anyway. I just think it is a sad state when we place more importance on a mouse than this man. Sorry, I just do not get it. I think it is misplaced compassion. Me? I feel bad for the guy who lost his home in a fire. This is the sad part of the story... "Mares lost everything -- and has no insurance." He is the one I feel we should pray for.

Man I could tell you some stories about what they do to the rats they catch down at NIH.

Even more I used to have this particularly mean House Cat. Great mouser though. We lived in this Townhouse and always had Mice. She loved to torture mice when she caught them. I mean out and out torture. I would find pieces of mice in the morning, EWWWW!

Me? I'm with Gerioke. I hate it when a Mouse does his business in my linens.

Ever hear of the Bubonic Plague and what happens when rodents become an infestation? Burning your house down would be a small problem.

Did he deserve his house burnt up for ridding himself of a rodent? Naw! Seems the prudent thing to do. Me I just fold over the glue traps and press down real hard. Then I tie them up in a Grocery bag and put them out in the outside Garbage pails until pickup. Then it's off to the landfill.

At the local hardware store they sell Humane Mouse Traps. No joke. They are plastic cylinders that trap the mouse so you can take him out to the woods and let him go. Where he promptly finds the next civilized abode and enters doing his business on their linens. Probably Geriokes house.

Describe to me then what it means to be made in his image. Do we look like him? If that were so then how would that make us more important than any of his other creations? If we are a spritual reflection of him, or meant to be, then would we not care for his creations just as much as he does? I have met those who think they are holy because they are created in Gods' image. Would you not call that pride? To hold ones self up at all is pride in my opinion.

If you did not have any pride then you would not be offended by my saying that, a certain action or to think a certain thing, was a result of pride. Please consider your tone when you respond and refrain from attacking/labeling my thinking as "unbiblical".

But your thinking IS unbiblical....that's just the facts of the situation. If that offends you, I don't know what to say. I'm merely pointing out that it runs contrary to the Bible.

"Image", in Hebrew, brings on the idea that we are in His likeness. We look somewhat like Him; animals don't. We hold the same emotions at Him; animals don't. We have the ability to create like Him; animals don't. This goes on. We are above the rest of His creation, we are more important. We aren't spiritually more important or ontologically superior, but to God we are better because we are His most special creation. He came down as one of us. He died for us. He seeks to be with us. It is not prideful to speak the truth; we are better than animals.
