Some think we must live in an alternate universe. Our universe is upside-down,

inside-out, and left-to-right instead of right-to-left. Nothing here makes

sense to me.

The Reverend Jesse Jackson and Bruce Gordon (the new president of NAACP) are

planning a big event to honor a very special hero of the black community.

This event is expected to draw 15,000 people and will probably be held in

the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Who is this Black American hero they are planning to honor?

Is it Colin Powell, the first black 4-star general, first black chairman of

the joint chiefs, first black man to be Secretary of State, and first black

man who could be President if only he wanted to be? No. It's not him.

Is it Clarence Thomas, the first black man to sit on the Supreme Court of

the United States? Nope.

Is it Dr. Condoleeza Rice, Stanford professor and the first black woman to

serve as Secretary of State. Nope, not her.

Is it Guy Bluford, the first black NASA astronaut who flew for 8 days in

space? Nope. Not him.

Is it Ron McNair, the second black NASA astronaut (who died in the space

shuttle Challenger disaster)?? Nope. Not good enough.

Is it Dr. Walter Williams, distinguished professor of economics at George

Mason University, and another truly inspiring black American. Nope.

Is it Dr. Thomas Sowell, distinguished professor from Stanford University?

No.

I could go on and on. There are thousands and thousands of truly amazing

black Americans who deserve an honor like this....

So who is it that The Reverend Jackson and the NAACP plan to honor??? Which

black icon is going to draw 15,000 people to honor him????

It's none other than Stan "Tookie" Williams, the thieving murdering thug who

founded the Crips gang--- The coward who killed a little old lady with a

shotgun blast to her face. This guy was so rotten and vile that they had to

put him to sleep to get rid of him once and for all. That's who. That's who

is being honored. That's the role model for our young people....

It gets worse. Didn't the black television network honor race baiter, anti-semite and Nation of Islam gangster Louis Farakhan as its man of the year? How bad can it get? Why didn't they just give a career achievement award to Adolf Hitler while they were at it! You have to wonder how any one over there can ever cry racism again when they prop up racists like that.

I think its a shame that we as a nation can not leave the past behind

I think, that for the most part, we as a nation can. However, people like Jesse Jackson, make their living, by making certain that black people think of themselves, as second class citizens. As long as he can portray everything negative that happens to a black individual, as being caused my white society, he will continue to make money out of their negative circumstances. There is no incentive, for Jesse to actaully be helpful, his industry is based on race baiting.

Rusty that was a marvelous list of high achieving black individuals, and they should be role models, but the programs of the democratic party, help keep black people disadvantaged. As long as democrats can create and maintain programs designed to keep people disadvantaged, they will have people voting for them, looking for help. The education system likewise, is geared toward perpetuating the myth that blacks and other minorities cannot succeed without help. The media also goes along with popularizing these myths and perpetuating minority stereotypes.

I do believe that there is coming a day, in the not too distant future, where the lies, deceptions and misconceptions of the left, will be exposed for what they are, and blacks and other minorities will realize that they have been duped. At that time, minorities will leave the left in droves.

The fine examples of the achievers you mentioned, cannot go unnoticed indefinetly, and more and more minorities will rise to prominence. That will destroy the stereotypes, and the day will come when minorities will see thier own neighbors, friends, and relatives succeeding, and they will 'get it".

Don't lose hope, America is a great place and is still the land of opportunity, in spite of attempts by many at home and abroad to paint it as something else. Our job, remains one of praying for our leaders, living our lives as Jesus would have us do, and educating those around us, and being good citizens, holding our leaders accountable.

If we do our job well, we will have made the world a better place until He comes.
