Do we call up on Jesus or God in the name of Jesus when we ask for help in faith?

Hi Happy,

I dont believe it is wrong to pray to Jesus directly after all He Is God (John 1:1), but from my experience Jesus will lead you to the Father as the Holy Spirit has led you to Jesus.

But we are to ask all things in the name of Jesus -- John 4:6 " I Am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me

When we worship we have free access to the Father and should not be afraid to approach Him on the merits of what Jesus has done for us. For the Father loves us and through what Jesus has done has adopted us a sons by where we call out Abba Father (Romans 8:15) with the same intimacy as Jesus cried out. (Mark 14:36)

Jesus said " and this is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom Thou hast sent"

eternal life is to not only know the Son but the Father as well.

Hope this helps

Greetings Happy,

I agree with JiG2 for the following reasons:

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Of course there may be many more verses that can be added, perhaps someone else may add some more.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Jig2 and Dad Earnie, thank you, this helps. I was in the hospital yesterday and the nurse couldn't get an IV in for half an hour, I kept asking Jesus for help, it was funny, the nurse laghed at first, but then she crossed herself too and found a vein right away. :) Maybe that was the reason. :)

I find it easier to cry out to Jesus in a difficult situation, why is that? I was worried about it because I heard we shouldn't pray to Jesus, but to God only, at least now I know I didn't do anything wrong.

Praise the Lord happy,

Remember Jesus is God as well and He calls us to come unto Him in Matthew 11:28.

In Phil 2:11 "And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord..."

That same word translated Lord is the same word used for Jehovah or God Almighty or Yahweh

In other words every tongue shall confess that "Jesus is God Almighty"

God bless you sister and keep lifting up the name of Jesus.

Thank you, so it's Okay to pray to Him and ask for help? Why do some say we should not pray to Jesus but to God only? Is there a verse or something else to make them think this way?

Peace Brethren,

I haven't read the whole post. Sorry.

Just an answer to the topic at hand.

Where does faith come from????

Paul states in Romans 10:17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of G-d.

As godman states above faith is Jesus Christ. I concur because He is the Word.

G-d Bless you all richly!

Peace :il: Amen

Hi Happy,

Its not wrong to ask of Jesus but dont be afraid to ask of the Father. Jesus has granted us access to the Father through His name

In John 16:23 Jesus is instructing the deciples of this very thing:

"And in that day ye shall ask Me nothing. verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you."

also in Jn 16:26 it says:

"and in that day ye shall ask in in My Name, and I say not unto you, that I will pray to the Father for you.

For the Father Himself loveth you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God"

This is a very powerful in the sense that we can come directly to the Father for the first time since the fall.

The Father loves us and wants our fellowship which is why He sent His Son in the first place, in order to restore us to the fellowship that He created us for.

Jesus says to know the Father is to have eternal life:

Jn 17:3 "And this is life eternal that they might know Thee, The only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent"

Jesu wants us to not only know Him but His Father who through our adoption through His blood is now our Father as well. We have recieved the Spirit of adoption by which we cry out Abba, Father

So happy I encourage you to get to know the Father, this is what Jesus wants you to do. He it is whom Jesus came to present to the world just as the Holy Spirit is in the world to present Jesus.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
